I would be interested in joining this rp, would you be okay with having a psychic kinda like Jean Grey on the team? Or not i have an idea for my character's power to create portals.
Yes it would be fine for you to have a character with powers similar to those of Jean Grey. Still, it would be interesting for the character to be different, since Jean Grey will be present in this universe. But that can be resolved with a personality and background that is quite different from Grey's.
So I had posted about my character idea in the interest check but it seems to have been missed, so I’ll reiterate it here in the OOC. My character was supposed to be born as a part of conjoined twins, where days before the birth, one twin’s X-Gene activated prematurely and turned it into energy that was absorbed by the remaining twin. This wouldn’t amount to anything until my character hit puberty and his X-Gene activated.
Now he could hear the voice of his twin in his head, with the twins being able to separate for short periods of time. My character would fall unconscious during this separation while the twin becomes an energy being that can fly, shoot blasts, and change shapes. Initially they would only be able to separate for a few minutes at most.
But as I was coming up with stuff to expand the back story, I wanted to know just how involved the non-mutant Marvel stuff is involved with this RP? I was wondering if superhero teams were a thing, specifically Alpha Flight? They are a team of Canadian superheroes that my character idolizes and wants to join, but is rejected due to his lack of control over his powers. This would be one of the reasons to join the institute as he wants to grow stronger.
Once I get an answer on the setting and if Alpha Flight is a thing, I’ll start working on my character sheet.
Hey sorry for ignoring you on the interest check post! I really like the idea of a character who has absorbed a twin, but his powers make me feel a little dubious, as my own character is going to have astral projection powers where his physical body is knocked unconscious. Maybe we can think of a way to make the characters different enough that they don't look like two versions of the same concept. What do you say?
And about Alpha Flight, yes of course you can put that in your backstory. But it would be interesting that even in Canada the perception of the human population is uncertain about mutants and that they are still beginning to be discovered.

Welcome to my Interest Check for an X-Men adventure. As you may have noticed, this roleplay will take place in an alternative universe in which Cassandra Nova, Charles Xavier's twin sister, decides to create her own institute for developing young mutants. In this universe, Xavier still doesn't know about his sister's existence and she seeks to create a team that can compete directly with her brother's pupils. If you're interested, feel free to describe a mutant you'd like to play. Original characters are encouraged, but you can use canonical characters from the comics if you wish. My only caveat is referring to the Original X-Men from the comics (Marvel Girl, Cyclops, Angel, Iceman, and Beast), as they will be the main rivals of Cassandra's team. If you present a very strong justification I might consider allowing some of these characters. I look for a small group of players with a maximum of 4 besides myself. There will be no first come, first serve. The characters that add the most to the team will be accepted. An important warning is not to create extremely powerful characters. In fact, the evolution of the characters' powers will be part of the roleplay plot, as Cassandra Nova has genetic manipulation abilities. In addition, the characters must be young, since the proposal is for the institute to function as a university. The required age range is 19 to 23 years old (only concerning characters, all players are welcome). This is intended to be a long RP with multiple arcs, so I ask that only willing players apply.
The setting
The world of this roleplay is composed of the various characters that make up the fictional Marvel comics' universe with its numerous organizations, races, and plots. In this universe, the existence of mutants is starting to become known by the public that already feels some insecurity about them. Cassandra's project beyond a form of revenge against her brother is an attempt to create a positive image of mutants. A select group of the institute's students (the players) will be set for missions across the European Union to spread a positive perception of the new race. The idea is that over time, encounters with Xavier's X-Men will become more frequent and that the different methods of action will generate friction between the two teams. The plot will be collaborative and although I have planned some arcs they can be changed to better accommodate the expectations of all players.
What I expect from the players
Create multidimensional character: Please don't come up with boring characters who are just trying to be the most powerful among them all. Create someone with anguish, suffering, challenges, dreams, and passions.
Be respectful: Please treat all players with due respect and not just pawns for your own amusement.
Be consistent: This is a casual roleplay, so I don't expect your writing to be perfect or extremely wordy. But please keep your answers consistent. I would like each player to make at least 2 posts per week.

Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Egan is a pretty boy. His smooth face is framed by his blonde locks and decorated by his deep blue eyes. From a wealthy upbringing, the boy's body does not show much muscle mass. He had never had to strive for much, still, after running from Lena to Porta to dodge the Star Sisters' hunt that had started to change. His thin and frail body had acquired some power if only to support the weight of his Elven Chain. He is a tall, slender young man with fair, smooth skin. Perhaps from the prolonged exposure to the northern cold, it's hard even to notice that there are pores on his face. In addition, there is an aura of mystery, perhaps arising from his distant and blind eyes or the supernatural perfume he exhales thanks to his Minor Arcanum. He always wears thick fur, even when it's the hottest, a habit from his days in nearby Limba. The robes make him look bigger and less vulnerable. But the frailty in his face is clear. However, in his etheric form - which he uses when projecting his astral body - there is no mistaking his great power. He takes the form of an alien creature, with rings full of eyes over his face and three pairs of wings larger than whole men each.
Personality ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Egan is a boy who acts according to his environment. That was the way he was raised. Despite having a diamond heart, he knows how to manipulate other people when necessary. Men seem to have a soft spot for his charm. He often takes a good look at his surroundings before intruding and his mystical ability helps him understand the personality of those who intimidate him. This allows him to take advantage of anyone with malicious intent. He tends to act sweetly on those around him but his coldness can be quite terrifying once aroused into action. Egan is not one to back down, especially when faced with someone more powerful than himself. His abilities also make it harder for enemies to attack him. He is always one step ahead. No matter what happens he remains calm in the midst of conflict. However, he doesn't like to waste time.
