Appearance. Stands at 5'11". Auburn, shoulder length hair has been dyed blonde and is often tied up and kept out of his way during work. Lithe build approaching fit. His wardrobe is usually lax with loose fitted shirts and comfortable pants, whether they be jeans, cargo or even sweats. He's most often seen in boots, a necessity given his time spent in less developed areas of the world.
When challenged, he'll answer with whatever he's in at the time.
Personality. Known to be sensible. Wise. Not one to throw his weight around in a room for the sake of attention. Thomas's take on life is one of devotion and hard work, even if at first glance he exudes the opposite. He seems fairly laid back and is often taking time where it's appropriate and when he can. When it's time to make moves however, he will. Outside of work, he's kind, compassionate, a little bit of a flirt, a little bit of a romantic, very much a klutz but has enough social bones in his body to get by.
He approaches his Gym Leadership with much of the same enthusiasm, ushering in new trainers with a pride that he relishes while ensuring that they're not necessarily the 'best' but dedicated to their journey and to their pokemon. He likes to think of himself as a reminder that the most important aspect to be a trainer is growth and that embracing weaknesses and mistakes are a major part of that and not something to be overlooked. It's a lesson he's had to apply to his own life on multiple occasions, only reinforcing its importance.

History. Thomas was born a single child and in the city of Wyndon, although this would not become his home. His family being as nomadic as they were kept on the move and so, much of his early life would be spread across the entire continent. To help with the inherent lonely nature that travel placed on him, Thomas began taking bits and pieces of the cities and regions he would visit with him when he left. These trinkets arrived in the form of various small plants and saplings. By chance, during one of his pickings he would accidentally mistake an Applin for a simple apple from which he intended to take seeds. The little dragon would become his first official Pokemon and best friend.
His journey to becoming the Gym Leader he is now began shortly thereafter. Recognizing that pieces of themselves had become inspirations for the young boy's dreams, they took to nurturing his flame. His mother had in fact been a successful trainer herself and his father, a researcher in the science of agriculture. Surprisingly, their varying careers made for a relationship that worked well on the move and also meant more opportunities for Thomas to learn. Two lessons remained the most important during his early days: His father taught him the importance of growth, the cycle of the world and how a single plant fit into that. How everything started with good soil but was maintained with love. One made for deep roots and the other ensured a strong and healthy plant. Relationships worked in much the same way, whether it be with people or Pokemon, and building those relationships with love on a strong foundation meant stronger bonds and a stronger team. His mother impressed upon him the importance of adaptation, of recognizing weakness and learning how to overcome it. She would remind him that just like the Pokemon he grew to love, plants too learned to survive in even the harshest of environments and that he would have to learn to do the same.
The last lesson he learned he taught to himself after he'd watched the saplings and plants he'd taken from around the world grow old and die. No matter how good the soil or how much love and attention you give, everything withers in time.
Thomas was approached after he graduated as a potential candidate for gym leadership in his area of expertise. By then, his travels and his prowess in battle had garnered for him a bit of a name. He initially refused, resigning himself to a life on the move as had been the norm for him. Additionally, having followed in his father's footsteps, his studies required him to travel to the different habitats and study flora in their natural home. Rooting himself in one place, particularly to a Gym, was counter intuitive to that.
A certain someone convinced him otherwise and since then, he's been nurturing the spirits of trainers looking to take the crown. To this day, however, he stands by the fact that he is naturally the worst candidate for his position. Even then, he holds to his promise all the same.

A dense forest to the Northwest of Turffield is home to Thomas's gym. Finding the clearing and the ruins marked as the origin of the surrounding forest is the mission. In respect to the sacred nature of the land and to the battles held there, only immediate family, close friends, other gym leaders and the Champion are allowed to spectate on location. Everyone else much watch the broadcast.
@Ambra I should have asked this earlier and maybe it goes without saying, but are we using OCs or the actual gym leader from the region for the type we pick (exceptions being the types that aren't represented)?
I have interest although I'll have to see how things go as I'm near full on what I can handle as far as writing goes. Can I reserve a type? If yes, I would like Steel.
Also, do people use tags when looking for roleplays to join? I just browse the casual section and see what interests me, personally.
Is that a thing we can do?
I think with the low volume of new RPs being introduced, there hasn't been a need for me to use tags when searching for a game to join. However, although I haven't done this yet, using tags to search for games that are ongoing and are still open may be a thing. It might also be useful with 1x1s where a lot of the ICs are always 'open'.
Physical Description. Slim build from a life on the move and an even tan from a bloodline that has spent copious amounts of time in the sun. Helio is tall, although not always the tallest in the room at 5'10". His eyes are of a deep brown and his hair cascades to about his mid-back when not up as it usually is. At first glance, this hair seems a slate black but under the right light or upon closer inspection, there is a noticeable tinge of purple.
His attire reflects his personality and activity, at least when he's not required to clean up. He is most often found in comfortable clothing or anything that is typically more flexible and allows for breathing. The gold bits and bobbles affixed to his hair are one of the more obvious hints to his home.

@zelxel Honestly, I'm really sorry to hear that. Losing track of old friends from the parts of your life that they helped to shape is one of the harder lessons to learn. Sometimes, you just can't find them again and that's a reality that we have to face when we lose people important to us, especially if like me you were too busy looking at your feet and not thinking about the future and how to prepare for it. But, it's also a good reminder to hold on to the new friends you do make so it doesn't happen again.
In my case, we were just a bunch of kids and we never thought about giving out each other's contact information because we were always online at the same place. I never knew their full names and they didn't know mine. Many of the people I did keep in touch with simply grew out of the internet and have moved on to living a fulfilling life with a job and a family. Roleplay is after all a very time consuming thing.
14 years is a very long time. People can change and move all over the world in a decade. But who knows? The world is big but made very small with how connected it is today and maybe you'll throw the right combination of keywords at Google and you'll find an old friend. Until then, maybe instead of chasing after them, you can make some new ones. Besides, the best way to get over someone is to get unde- I know you want to find some people to play with in the world that is Sailor Moon and starting a group or 1x1 game can often be a daunting task. I think someone had mentioned this to you before but try joining some other similar 'Magical Girl' style RPs and make some solid friends there and with them, you can transition over to the Sailor Scouts.
"The bulk of what's been given to us will be available in the briefing room for you and the AIDA to pour through. There may be connections we aren't finding that it will and it'll also be a good opportunity for both of you to get caught up on the case. But so far..." Right arm up and in front of her again, she subtly tilted her index finger toward the ceiling, a motion that was picked up by the room itself. Digital files that were previously invisible were suddenly pulled vertically across one of the glass panes until all were visible and one was highlighted. Lorelei 'traced' down to another that read "CC#3492109" and swiped to the right, dragging the folder away from the others where it was then opened and the contents put on display. Now, across all four of the adjacent screens were a large number of images from previous murder scenes. Many of them were captures of blood stains, damaged furniture, loose bits of evidence such as bullet casings and stray hair follicles that seemed out of place. A few were of bodies covered in sheets and outlined in familiar white chalk. More still were of the surrounding areas which included streets, adjacent apartments, alleyways and open fields. "...Five murders with three having a loose connection to each other and the first and last associated by timing." Lorelei tapped at the air and one particular photo was lifted from the rest and expanded. "Victims two and three were known associates. Engineers in the field of artificial intelligence. Victims three and four..." The image on screen was a comparison photo. On the left was a peculiar bloodstain on a wall with what looked to be an inverted pyramid with two sides that extended downward and beyond each other. They ended at an equal distance from the main body as if to give the shape legs. Within the pyramid was a circle. On the right was an image of a tattoo at the base of the victim's neck just above where his shoulder blades met. It was the same symbol.
"There are already too many dots here for it to be a coincidence and I do not recognize that mark."
