When you have to disable a new 'advanced' search to get proper search results and learn that 'advanced' means 'AI'. Let's rename it artificial superficiality, short 'AS'. Not to be confused with...

I'm slightly proud of myself having overcome my hate for indoor spiders a bit over the years. In my youth I often eliminated them, now I carry them outside in a jar. Spiders here are harmless though.

Believe me, if they could, the entirity of Southern Germany would send you all the rain they had over the last couple of days. I'm just not sure you'd actually want the widespread destruction.

Finally managed to catch the mouse. Our cat must consider me the most incompetent person of all times given how she watched instead of helping. She dragged the problem in though!

Bio

Welcome to my profile page!

Who the hell is this person behind those many miles of fiber optics and copper cable ?

  • I'm a 34 year old guy.
  • ... who's working as a software developer
  • ... and enjoys roleplaying as a casual hobby to distract himself from ongoing stress

And into which hell will I descend with you participating in one of my roleplays?

  • I'm a fantasy addict: medieval high and low!
  • I'd consider myself to be a low casual roleplayer, 3 paragraphs per post on average.
  • My schedule varies. It might happen that I won't be able to post at all for a week, but then again it might happen that I'll reach a sweet spot inside which I can go on a posting rampage. I'd say one can expect 1-2 posts a week from me, depending on the lengths involved.
  • English is not my native language, but so far I've not encountered anyone who had had trouble with me over that :)

Want to RP with me ? Shoot me a PM, but don't shoot me!

Thanks for visiting!

God this was ugly, but nothing he had not been seen before. Battle was always this way, being all of the participants entirely human or not. Madawc evaded the stalactite, but in doing so he hit the cavern floor really hard. With pain to his right shoulder, the demon-man heaved himself up again while the beast was recovering from the momentum it had invested into its thrust. When it returned, seemingly even more enraged than before, he achieved a hit to what appeared to be its chest, but it only sent blood flying and caused a cracking sound. The creature was still very much alive and Madawc was backing off a bit towards Xavier, hoping that he had the other pests under control.

Madawc let out a curse. He had not expected that. They were outnumbered here, so a difference in quality had to do it. He hoped that this difference actually existed, not knowing if Xavier was actually good as a fighter or if he was just good at looking impressive.

He didn't give any commands - it was pretty clear that they both had to care about the small stuff so to speak first. The first 'child' found its end with the cavern's floor rumbling and spitting small fragments of stone when the man's hammer impacted it. Madawc was one hell of a strong person, but would he be able to keep that up long enough ?

"I wish the police had come and taken away the screwballs of the lab I was born in..." Harald commented sullenly. It wasn't directed at Alex, it was just what happened pretty much every time the splice had to think about the way he had been born and grown up. Of course, from the standpoint of someone already living he would never want his birth to be undone, but if someone had been able to ask him before it had happened... That was a different story.

Suddenly, his left paw plunged into the water. When it came back up, a small and incautious fish was pinned between the tips of his claws. The splice devoured it with barely any chewing at all. "Delicious... erm... sorry, couldn't resist." There was a small gap as he ran out of words. Was there anything he would like to ask ? "I think my questions will come once I know this place a little better. Get ready to be bombarded." Harald grinned.

"Is this your tortoise ?" he asked, pointing at Rush. "Or... well... it can just be yours because you let it rest on your clothes, right ? Feast upon my stupidity!"
So I've just time-skipped gargy into the meeting.
Vaughtar's room

"Wait... daytime ?" Vaughtar was stunned. It took him a few seconds to voice his conclusion: "So this rift has interrupted my transformation cycle. Normally I turn to stone when the sun rises above the horizon, no matter if I can actually see it happening or not. And... underwater ?"

To cut a long story short: Winston had to start explaining. A lot. How the world - roughly - looked like. How society looked like. A few very basic everyday things like phones, cars and planes. The latter one was an item on the list that normally wasn't important, but since this creature apparently was able to defeat gravity on a regular basis and large enough to be spotted by recent day radar technology, it was worth mentioning.

The Meeting Room

When he had finished and Vaughtar's head had stopped fuming, Winston offered him to join a meeting that was going on just right now. The stone gray beast seemed to be kind-hearted, so it was acceptable to let him join it. He quickly pulled the ordinary chair out of Vaughtar's way and shoved a sturdy metal crate towards him that had been sitting around next to one of the walls. 'Hulking' was a pure understatement for that gargoyle, kind-hearted or not.

He was too late to cross Dayna's way in the hallway leading away from the conference room, but though he would have definitely found an elemental sprite very interesting - such things didn't exist on Munimis - there were enough other persons in the room to saturate his curiosity. The person he could identify himself with most at first glance was the lean woman with curly, reddish hair he didn't know the name of. Given that she had also come through the rift, her clothing remembered him very much of what the ordinary people of his world were used to. He could see Matthew and Hirsch, but of course he had no idea about the USMC, so the only thing he noted about them was that they appeared to be a team of some sort in this room, with some similarities in behaviour. Another man, quite tall, was standing next to that horrible thing that had to be one of these 'screens' Winston had told him about. These flashing images divided into a myriad of tiny squares would give him a headache, that was for sure! There was some ink tainting the surface. It made no sense, so it had likely been an accident. Vaughtar wished that whoever had done this would have just continued with it until the entire thing had been covered.

There seemed to be an intensive discussion going on, so Vaughtar sat down onto the creaking crate without saying anything else than a "Hi.", spoken out very low by his standards. He felt strange, very strange. He was the only one who was almost naked. His body was probably nothing to be ashamed of, but it just felt wrong as everyone else here was wearing some sort of clothing. Unlike Wolfe he couldn't transform back and forth to what physical representation suited the current situation best.

Madawc started to smell the smell, too. "I assume it's the remains of the beast's victims. Let's just hope we won't be added to the heap." He wasn't afraid. Demons just did't tend to be. However he was clever enough to beware of underestimating what could be in here.

He didn't stop looking around, especially behind him, while he continued going deeper and deeper into the cave, holding his two handed hammer ready in his hands. The sword Xavier was using was somewhat enormous, at least for a lightweight person like he was. After two or three minutes of continued intrusion, he could hear something. Something nasty. "Xavier ? Stop. I think it's coming."
In Vaughtar's room

The gargoyle's thoughts were rampaging in his mind. He had not been stone when they had found him ? He did barely know anything about the intricate magical inner workings of himself, but wondering about if this relocation in space and time could interfere with his natural rhythm wasn't far-fetched.

"What time was it when you found me ? Day or night ? And what time is it now ?"

Basically, asking about time was like the key to Pandora's Box. So many other questions could be derived from that simple one that Vaughtar didn't even know where to begin with at best. Agitated, he started slowly moving around randomly in the large room. Every time he made a step Winston could possibly feel a vibration of the floor emanating from where his foot had hit the ground, and his claws left superficial scratches behind until he finally noticed and elevated them a bit.

"I guess you don't know any way back ? Because if you knew you would just have sent everyone back to where he came from and everyone could continue happily ? So... I'm stuck here ?"

One could clearly and in spite of all the differences between Vaughtar and humans see that he was very sad and upset.

"What are you gonna do with me now ? I would have to hide, wouldn't I ?"
Or wait... didn't Winston say that many members of TRIDENT were beings who themselves came out of a rift and didn't belong here ? This probably did imply something.
"How can I be of assistance ?"
@Eviledd1984
The journey to the beast's cavern was uneventful. Something that probably had something to do with the fact that it was a distance of no more than about 400 paces. The cavern itself was quite impressive. There was no light except for the torches, but one could just feel that the floor was almost flat and slippery. There was a huge amount of rather thin stalactites growing from the ceiling, but only a few, but way thicker stalagmites rising from the ground. It was a kinda odd thing. They were standing in a large hall of some sort, wide and very high, at least for a cavern.

Madawc drew his hammer. They now were pretty much inside the beast's lair. The question was... "Who goes first and who goes behind ?"
I'm sorry for this announcement, but half way in my thesis it appears to me more and more that the subject is kinda extreme in terms of scope and complexity and I wasn't the only one who didn't expect this. However I can't really bail out in this stage and am experiencing some sort of psychological breakdown these days.

Long story cut short: I can't guarantee a shit if I'll be able to pull off what I already did several times to follow this RP (and that is getting up really early in the morning to break through the timezone barrier) any time in the next time. @Ellion You have full permission to use Andri should it be necessary.

This might be rather briefly and momentarily, but I don't want you to get stuck because I am stuck. This RP is great.

"Not exactly awesome." Harald answered. "You don't have any parents, the eggheads treat you in the way that suits their experimental needs best - until you escape... You have to be pretty much an autodidact. And then there are a few things that can screw things up for you sometimes." He pointed at the antlers-like structure on his head.

"So... I don't even know where the main office is. I'm new here, kinda crept in." He laughed a bit, moving his legs in order to keep his head above the waterline as well.
