*Gue'rach busts down the door*
"I SURE HOPE THERE'S NOBODY AROUND"

In true video game fashion, it's still sneaky if there are no surviving witnesses
This one took some doing and I'm not particularly confident about it but here we go.

Alicia nodded to herself with a grim satisfaction as her arrows landed, gouging at the tentacles on the Monster Queens back. It served a useful purpose too, preventing the tentacles from lashing into someone else as they were destroyed. Blows not just her own landed in quick succession, before it ended with her being bound in chains and hoisted through the roof.

Unfortunately it did look like Amaryllis had been grabbed in spite of her acrobatics. Of course she'd seen enough to know that the Knight could probably handle herself even in a situation such as this, but she appreciated the offered boost nonetheless. She was fine fighting at range, but others could certainly use it.

"Got it," she called back, so they were aware she had heard what they said. Getting in each others way was something of a concern, and so her arrow output diminished to ensure she didn't interfere with her allies attacks. At the very least, it remained that way until Shane had finished with his lightning assault.

Then she resumed firing with a cluster of tightly aimed beams of light. They rose through the fog filled air to scorch and burn, striking at the wound that Shane had just made, or at the very least directly opposite it so the Monster Queen could not simply focus on healing one wound. That would also divide its attention, giving Amaryllis her opportunity to make a move. She was angry, but she wasn't going to sacrifice victory for emotion. Especially not when they could better fight the Queen above ground.

She'd just need to be ready to move when the time came.

Hm, still thinking on the details o the CS, but I'm thinking a First Officer looks to be about right. Everyone needs a Riker to their Picard.
I am moderately interested. I've been looking for something a bit on the lighter side recently.

Alicia left the scene of the battle behind, annoyed that Su and her group had left with Christine but not too angry about it. After all it wasn't like they were on the same side as Christine, so she would have to trust that the group knew what they were doing. For now there were more important matters at hand that demanded her attention.

Entering the backroom, Alicia was taken aback by the charred corpse that waited for her there. It was impossible to tell who it was, though she could at least be confident that it was no one she cared about. But that was not the only thing to contend with. Serenity suddenly appeared, crashing to the ground right in front of her.

"You do have a knack for making an entrance Serenity," Alicia said as she offered the girl a hand.

Her gaze drifted over to the hole in the wall. It seemed to lead back to the main hall, and through it loomed a monster on the rampage. There was no doubt that it was the one who had been obscuring the rave this entire time. "Looks like we can't rest easy just yet." Whether she was directly complicit or not, there was no doubt that she had to be stopped. "Let's get to it."

With Serenity and Leena in tow she raced forwards, leaving the room behind to return to the main hall. At least they were not alone in this with the arrival of Rachel and her companions, but Alicia would have fought on regardless.

As they entered into the main hall, Alicia was brought short. "God, no..." The color left her face, her grip so tight on her weapon it was a wonder it did not crack. Bile rose in her throat as she gagged, a hand rose to cover her mouth, and her knees shook as they threatened to give way.

Smoke left a haze around the hall, though it had diminished with the fall of the barrier allowing it to escape. Even if it had been there, her Third Eye would have allowed her to see regardless. Furniture laid scattered and destroyed, twisted wreckage and debris rendering the hall in shambles. The lights had been blown out, and the speakers with them.

But...the bodies. Charred, dismembered, twisted. Those who were not scorched and burned by the lightning, or simply beaten down in the fight that had preceded the finale, had fallen victim to psychic attack. Their bodies were frozen, clawing at their face or chest. Blood pooled in an ever growing amount, and the sweet smell of cooked meat brought an instinctive reaction that was only matched by the conscious horror at such a reaction.

As she watched one of the tentacles lashed out, scarfing down a fallen girl. It was hard to see who it had been, but that did not matter. "how dare," she muttered, unaware of the tears that ran down her cheeks. All there was was the pain, the anger, the guilt. "I won't let you treat them this way!"

Her bow rose, even as a barrage of fire was laid down from Rachel's group. Those targeted the tentacles, and Amaryllis soon entered and bound the Queen up in magical chains. At the very least it made for an easier target. With a twang of the drawstring she fired, sending a trio of projectiles at Hyun's back. These would strike and then explode, force directed into the point of impact like a shaped charge. She doubted that it would kill the Queen, but that was alright. It would hurt, and there would still be plenty of monster left to make sure that those who had been desecrated by her hand would be avenged.

A lot happened in a short span of time.

Mika burst through the wall, body checking Christine across the corridor and pinning her there. Alicia wasn't sure what was going on, but it seemed that she had gotten over...whatever it was that had caused her to be so hostile in the first place. so that was good. It meant less difficulty moving forwards.

Then the psychic assault began. It hammered against her ShineSpark, causing her to grit her teeth from exertion as her own attacks fell off. Before it could overwhelm Leena raised her Null Field, cancelling all magic. That stopped the attack on her and Leena, leaving them some freedom.

Then she heard Fan-Fan's voice, the screams of pain that dwindled into whimpers and moans with the rising of the Null Field. It was joined with a cacophony over the comms, a same crescendo that dwindled away into nothingness. Until only Rachel's voice was left. A rising dread spread through her bones, promising to leap out of her throat as her grip on her weapon tightened until her knuckles were white. If it was not magically enhanced, one would wonder if she could not outright snap it in her grip.

"No. No no no, it can't," she muttered, tears falling down her cheeks as the impact of what was happening slammed into her. "T-They're gone. They're all just gone." That was no clearer than the message that filled the air, giving her a direction for her anger and the worry of attacks to come. Could they stand against whoever was left, now seeking to punish their defenseless attackers?

Then the Barrage arrived, burning and lashing and striking around the Null Field. She wasn't sure if that had taken anyone out beyond, but it had likely diminished the numbers a bit. They would have to use the time while they still had it.

Alicia turned to look at Katarina, oblivious to the conversation Su and Helga were having about making their exit from this place. "Sorry. We were too late."If only they had had more time. If only she had been faster, or could have persuaded Rachel to hold off for longer. If only, if only.

Now there was only one thing left to do. She had to capture Eden and shut down her organization, had to make sure the sacrifices and all the death meant something. With Christine incapacitated the way was now clear, and she wasted little time in moving towards the door that had once been protected. As she did so she activated her comms. "Enemy combatant apprehended in the corridor west of the stage. I need Nullification gear on her for containment and questioning."

She only stopped to glance back over her shoulder at Leena. "Come on. Someone has to pay for all of this." She might not have been able to stop it, but there was no doubt that she was going to make Eden regret being born.

Once past Alicia moved with a growing energy, slamming open doors and looking for either Eden or the one who had been obscuring the rave with that aura from the beginning. They were likely working together, so if she found one she would have a strong lead on the other. Burning thoughts filled her mind, drove her forward, left her ready. This was her fault, and she would do whatever she had to to atone for that failing.

In a far away dimension, Ren closed the door on the world they had come from just before the Barrage swept past. He pocketed the key as his two companions went to chat, getting to know each other. He'd lost his key in a dimensional transition before and it was not fun. Having to call in a replacement because you misplaced yours was always such a hassle.

At the request for drinks Ren turned to look at the skyline, before realizing that he couldn't do that since they were still underground. "That can probably be arranged," he assured them both. The kiss was taken in stride, accepted with the gratitude that it was probably intended. Now then, he just needed to find that credit card, it was in his pockets somewhere....

The three of them walked off into the calm city night, zeppelins flying overhead. Much pizza would be eaten, drinks drank, and fun had. But that was a story for another time.

Lillyn smiled, nodding in approval as Lea took the coin from her hand. By all consideration things were going well, and they would soon have a new sister to stand at their side.

But it was not to be. Instead Lea ran for it, saying that she still had yet to decide. "Hey wait!" staff girl yelled before running after her. If she still needed to think about it then she wouldn't have approached them for the coin, right?

Before she could catch up Lea Shifted into the Overcity, leaving them standing there uselessly and unable to pursue,. Glances were shared as they reconvened, in varying degrees of anger and chagrin from the members of the squad. This changed into something much more embarrassed as the warning of coin thiefs was sent by Sally.

"I think we've been had," the third girl in their patrol noted with a groan. She had the feeling that they would be on punishment detail for a while after this.

While things seemed to be winding down, the Seraph could not rest easy. For one, Vi had yet to be apprehended. So long as she was still on the loose, danger unknown elements could remain in play. And on a more practical level there was the fight still going on. That would have to hold the majority of her attention. At the same time she still had the awareness to note Mika exiting the scene, headed off to who knew where despite her previously hostile intent.

Her blades connected, only to find the figure turning into ice as it fell. A Duplicate, manipulated by ice magic to make it faster. Her momentum was quickly transferred in another direction as she rolled out of the way before it could fall on top of her. She had been frozen once before, she was not letting that happen again.

Coming out of her role, Alicia froze as she found herself face to face with...a gun. Not even a magic gun, but a regular old, normal person, gun. "Seriously?" she muttered to herself as more footsteps came in from around them. The numbers were not great, even leaving aside that.

Her gaze flickered over to Leena, noting her position as she planned her move. Like hell she was going to just surrender here. Slowly she took one step back, lowering her weapon as she did so. All to play along with the ruse while positioning herself just behind Leena.

Then she struck. Light flared out, bright and radiant as she tapped into her mana to pump it up as much as she could. It was a blinding radiance, like a small sun shining that would leave normal eyes blinded. Not just that, but it would throw off Christine's aim as well as she darted out of the line of fire.

"I don't think so," she challenged as she reformed her bow before firing it at the gun. By all appearances it was normal, and that meant she could destroy it.

Around the same time she felt the stirring of her ShineSpark, yet discipline and determination drove her forward. Bolts of magic flew, a shimmering barrage to focus down Christine. Some would simply fly by, but others would explode in her face to further disorient her. Through it all, hopefully Leena could do what she had to as well. She had the feeling that something bad was happening, and this needed to be wrapped up now.

Ren grunted, wincing and doing his best to keep Liss' elbow from jabbing into his injured ribs. They moved through the chaos of the rave as she followed his directions, buffeted by potent destructive magic, healing, and the smoke of the fire. It was hard to tell if this meant it was alright to pick up the smoking habit now or not.

A grunt escaped as Ren found himself back on the ground, swaying slightly on his feet as she handed back the key. He barely had time to do anything amidst all the smoke and choking heat before she had locked herself inside an arbitrary room.

Moving to do that very thing, Ren found himself interrupted as Dusty spoke up and admitted to her true nature. It was a magic that he knew of, though he didn't have much personal experience with it. But he knew enough to get the general read of where the situation was going. Another sacrifice, a panicked decision. What else would it be?

Before she could close the door, before the scene in her head played out in real life, she would be interrupted as Ren grabbed her arm. "Kids," he grumbled amidst an errant cough. "Always so hasty, and without thinking too."

Dragging her back into the hallway, he held up the key as they returned to Liss' door. "I'm a traveler. If I can go from this dimension to another one, I can do the same thing the other way around." Inserting the key, a glimmer traced along the edges of the door. When he opened it, Dusty would see the hallway that they were standing in. But there was no fire, no smoke, no panic. In fact it seemed to be empty at the moment.

"Ladies first," he told her. Once she had gone through he followed, taking the key with him. When the door shut, all the sound and noise and heat vanished with it. But he was not done just yet. "Be back in a minute," he then told her as he stepped into the room and closed the door. Repeating the process, this time it would open to the previous dimension, and the room that Liss was in.

Leaning through the doorway, Ren extended a hand to the redhead. "I know you said you'd be fine, but that other girl was heartbroken at the thought of you staying here. You wouldn't want to do that to her, would you?"

Moving through the streets of Penrose, Lea would soon be able to identify the type of patrol that she was looking for. It was a quartet, as one might expect such a group to be. For a moment they tensed as she approached, only to relax when she made her desire clear.

"You chose an unfortunate time to approach us," the lead girl replied as she took a step forwards. "The city is rapidly falling into all sorts of chaos. Someone has chosen to stoke the fires of mischief, and it is one such event that we are responding to now."

She thought about for a moment before nodding. "Nonetheless, we cannot deny the request of those who want to be pur-"

"-Hold on Lillyn!" Another of the girls in the patrol spoke up before she could finish, pulling her back and whispering to her about something Their conversation was rapid and apparently a bit heated as they debated the course of action that they were about to take.

Yet in the end Lillyn shook her head before stepping forward once more and offering the White Coin. "As I was saying, we cannot refuse the wish of those who seek to be purified. Here is the White Coin. Will you stand with us in this time of need?" Her head tilted gently, inquisitive eyes upon Lea as she awaited a response....

Despite her best efforts, Alicia could soon hear the sound of the Ascendancy squads arriving, and the barrier activating. She didn't blame Rachel for making that choice, but it added to the urgency of what she was doing. If there was some other plan in place, she needed to figure out what it was soon.

In a way that was almost confirmed as Alicia walked down the hall and was soon confronted by a magical girl directing her to return to the rave.Tapping into her third eye, she noted the four clones as well as the original. Glancing back towards the rave hall, the sound of a crash seemed to underline her own point well enough.

Turning back to the girl, she shook her head. "Yeah, that's not happening." The fact that this was being insisted on after what Vi did was evidence enough.

Before anything else could happen though, another voice spoke up from behind. Turning, Alicia held back a sigh as she saw Mika on the far side of the circle, the girl looking downright furious. For a moment she wondered if the girl was being affected by Vi's song, before deciding that it didn't matter. She'd been hostile before this event started, if anything that had just helped to push it forwards. To her detriment, as fortune would have it.

"You really need to work on your timing," she shot back. "I'm trying to resolve a crisis here."

Even as she said it, Alicia knew it was an exercise in futility. Neither girl seemed like they intended to back down. At least Leena had arrived, meaning the odds were a bit more even now. But she needed to remember to keep her focus, rather than being wrapped up in this fight.

Having recognized that the fighting was inevitable, Alicia made the first move. Her center of gravity shifted downwards as she lowered herself before springing at the real Christine. Blades flashed parallel horizontal slashes aimed at her legs. She was trusting that Leena could keep Mika distracted, so the sooner she got rid of the original, the easier this fight would be. Thy couldn't afford to waste timme, so she'd try to wrap this up quickly.

Dimly aware of what was going on as he focused on his own healing, Ren grunted as he was hauled off the floor and on to Liss' shoulder like a sack of potatoes. At least he wasn't alone in that state, though pride was something of a nonissue at this point. There were more urgent things going on.

"Ahh, watch the ribs," he hissed as they jostled their way through the crowd. There had been a moment of calm, but it seemed the fighting had returned anew as the situation escalated. But the tourist was a bit too distracted to pay attention to why for now.

At Dusty's urging he shifted slightly, reaching back into one of his pockets for a few moments. But his search was successful as he produced a key. Which he held on to for the moment, as Liss was a bit full handed. "Here," he told them. "We use this on a locked door, it will open to another dimension. Just close it after we go through."

It was, perhaps, not the most practical of options. But it was the one he had on hand.
