As Sam headed to the kitchen, Lexi just remained seated on the chair as Dean pulled a chair closer before heading to the bookshelf to get a flashlight. She sighed, trying to ignore the pains she was feeling from her head to her abdomen and even went to try and shrug off her jacket but winced as it hurt too much so decided against it alone.

With Dean's return, she let him lift her chin with his finger and flash the light in her eyes to check for a concussion and refrained from the very urge to squint away from the light as he did so. At his guess of her level of concussion and his remark about being like Sam if she wasn't careful, she had to smirk and lightly scoff an amused chuckle. "I'm still smarter than you are" Sam retorted as he heard what Dean said.

"but to be fair, she took one hell of a few hits from the bloody thing. She went into an escape ladder, onto one of those massive trash bins and then the ground and got right back up" Sam added, him being impressed by Lexi's stamina on the hunt evident in his tone. "not even I got up that quickly" he added.

Lexi let Dean trace his fingers down her to make sure she wasn't too bloody or had any other injuries that not even she noticed, feeling glad that he didn't spot any. She stood up when he requested her to and hissed as he helped get her jacket and overshirt off her arms, only now properly noticing how badly her shoulder had bruised from the dislocation and noticing how much Dean winced from the sight of her.

"not my first rodeo, so yeah, it will suck but I'm a big tough girl I can handle it" she replied to him with an equally sad smirk on her face. With his actions, she stood straighter and mentally braced herself for what was to come next as he began counting but popped her shoulder back into place before he got to three, making her groan and yelp through gritted teeth a few profanities.

She felt herself internally shake from the pain coursing through her so when Dean held her close to him, she felt extremely thankful and found herself leaning into him out of natural instinct as she tried to relax and breathe through the pain. "don't be sorry, I'm glad you helped" she told him back.

Sam watched as his brother let himself be close to Lexi to help her and when he heard her shoulder pop the way it did, even he had to wince as he held an ice pack to the back of his head. "all good?" he asked. "yeah...yeah" Lexi said as she managed to through the majority of the initial pain, with the thanks of having Dean so close to her.

She realised how much she had missed being held after a hunt, even if it was in this instance and not for any other, but it brought her a sense of calm, like she was for Dean.
Kay sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration when Serena refused to back down and continue to be stubborn. "bloody hell..." she huffed, echoing John's frustration at Serena's stubbornness.

"Bane please say there's a way you can stop Serena going on a possible suicide mission" she said to him. She really didn't want to be out there worrying about Serena's safety and life as well as worrying over John.
Kay just had a feeling that Serena wouldn't like what she was suggesting, but she also knew what she was suggesting was the safest option. She didn't want to put Serena even more in danger than she already had been, so when Bane spoke up his agreement with her opinion she was actually really thankful and relieved.

"Serena I know you wanna be pro-active here and you would rather be in the action so to speak but sometimes you need to know when to fight and when to step back. This is a time to step back and let us handle it for once. You're safe here, out there you're not. So please for once, don't be stubborn" Kay told her firmly but softly.
Kay listened with interest at what they were discussing and when it became more and more clear that it was Serena that was a target this time, Kay couldn't help but feel two things. Relief it wasn't her for a change, and guilt for feeling relief. Yet she was also concerned that Serena had a target on her back now they were in the Seattle.

"Then we need to be super careful and Serena you need to be more careful than the rest of us. Like you say, you got super lucky that whatever is after you didn't know who you were or Bane and I wouldn't have been able to save you" she replied as she sipped coffee. "Sam, can you keep hosting Serena here?" She asked looking at her sister, "Yeah of course I can" Sam said. Sam just hoped that she wouldn't be dragged into their whole mess any more than she already was.
MIKA CHAMBERS

"Damn straight it is!" Mika replied with a chuckle as Duke spun her round as he hugged her back. She didn't think anyone other than Dean could make her smile so brightly after the last few days, especially the night before but here came in Duke barrelling into her life again and proving her very much wrong. He was always a breath of fresh air and the one bloke that she could be huggy with and Dean not get utterly irrationally possessive and jealous from. She realised from the way he brushed her hair out of her face just how much she had missed him.

She let him talk and explain how and why he was in town, nodding in understanding especially after what Natalia had told them all before they did their long morning drive to this location. At the comment about a couple of their group being tied up, Mika had to glance toward Esme in the truck and saw she looked very much worse for wear which got her worried for when Dean saw her. Which wouldn't take long for her to witness as Duke looked over her shoulder, making her look behind her and see Dean come out wondering what got her rushing out the room.

Stepping to one side, she nodded at Duke finishing what he was saying to her before she made sure she left enough room for Dean to come up and finally hug Duke and greet his mate. Hearing Duke say how he was going to see to Esme was of a relief to her internally as it took away the anxiety of Dean wanting to go patch the woman up. She may have promised Dean she would try and be civil with Esme, but that didn't mean it was going to be an easy task for her even though she had no intention of breaking said promise.

It was then she looked bck up at Duke and he lovingly pinched her chin before heading to help Esme out. As Dean helped Duke out by getting Esme to the door of the room Esme and Duke would be having, Mika walked to the door of hers and Dean's room, watching intently at how Dean looked at Esme and so on. That pang of jealousy coursed through her heart briefly as Dean's worried look reminded her again that Dean still had some kind of love for Esme. Mentally shaking the thought from her mind, she looked up and smiled softly at Duke's words. "See you in a bit" she said back, opening the door to her room once again.

"She's in good hands with Duke" she simply said to Dean, hoping that would remove the worry for Esme out of his mind, at least for a while. She was in such a good mood before Duke arrived and when she realised it was him that she didn't want that mood to be ruined and broken because of her internal battle with her jealousy.

Walking back into the room, she sat at the table as she debated in telling Sam and Natalia about Duke's arrival or not, but then decided against it. They could discuss all that later and right now they did have to focus on the job at hand rather than personal thoughts and worries.

SAM WINCHESTER

The time with Annabeth was a welcome one. After being in a tense car ride for the last three or four hours, it was nice to be able to be in a motel room and just relax with the one person he had become fond of all over again at a very rapid pace. The earlier conversation about being dignified and modest with each other made him half snort with laughter and look down at the ground as he knew she had a valid point.

He too had to admit his surprise that Dean got them one room for the two of them without being prompted, or so they thought. For all they knew Mika could have persuaded him to let them share a room which wouldn't have been beyond the realm of possibilities, but if it was done on his own accord then quite frankly, he was damn well surprised and impressed.

The sound of a truck turning up at some point in the parking lot that their rooms overlooked wasn't much of a surprise to him, so he didn't bother taking a look out of the window like Mika had done. However it was when he heard Mika's familiar squeal of excitement that made his ears and curiosity pick up. Standing up from the bed that he was sitting on as it was always more comfortable than the chairs supplied at the tables, he looked out the window and saw Duke's cowboy hat before he saw the man under said hat.

"Well I never..." he muttered under his breath. He then turned to Annabeth, "Cason and Esme are back and with an added member to the group, if he stays around that is" he explained to Annabeth. "I'll warn you now, the guy whose just shown up is a close friend to Dean's but he's highly liked by everyone-especially women and he bloody well knows it. So don't be surprised if he'll be playfully flirty with you" he smirked.

"He's a decent bloke though" he added before looking back again out the window and saw how battered Esme looked. "Seems whatever held Esme and Cason up, Esme got the worst of it, she looks pretty rough" he said then turned away from the window to put his focus on Annabeth in the room once more.

NATALIA WINCHESTER

Unlike the others, Natalia enjoyed her own company and did some research on her laptop of what had been happening in the town from the little information that Dean had previously given them. She wanted to see if she could get any additional information for herself before she no doubt had to head out with Sam and Annabeth. Unfortunately she didn't find anything that she didn't already know which just frustrated her.

To rid herself of her frustration she decided to take a shower before they had to head out, making the most of her solo room. Shrugging her jacket off that she realised she still had on, she threw it onto the table before grabbing her bathroom bag and as she walked to the bathroom she peeled off clothing, a garment at a time leaving a trail of clothing in the process before stepping into the shower. Turning on the shower she grimmaced at how the hot water was barely hot, but made do with it just to freshen up for a few minutes.

Being in the shower meant she missed the whole squealing of Mika and Duke's arrival with Esme. Feeling much more refreshed about ten minutes later, she stepped out, grabbed a towel that barely felt long enough for her long torso, wrapped it round herself and walked back into the main room hoping that she didn't have get any unexpected guests in the form of their friendly demon as she did so.

Grabbing her clothes off the floor, she carried them to her bag and then changed into her more formal wear, seeing no point in getting into casual clothing only to change again a little while later. Being suitably dressed, she dried her hair with the dryer that was attached to the wall in the bathroom, a style she detested greatly. With her hair dried, she styled it partially up to look more 'respectable' and slapped some basic make up on.

Looking in the mirror at herself she grimaced, "urgh you barely look like you. Disgusting" she complained, even though she far from disgusting but suits were always her personal hell.
As Bane handed Serena her mug of hot chocolate and Serena suddenly having an idea hit her, Kay leaned forward and grabbed her coffee and a cookie, dunking it in the coffee. As she bit into the cookie, she looked at Serena, "Who else would they be after?" she asked after swallowing her mouthful of cookie.

"well that's a good question, but I feel like you guys wouldn't like the answer. It has that whole doomed question feel about it" Sam spoke up, unable to remain silent completely as she gave Kay a look that said 'you cretin' for dunking the biscuit in the coffee. Dunking in drinks like tea and hot chocolate she could get behind, but not coffee.
Kay nodded in understanding. "I can get that" she replied to him, resting her head against his shoulder as Bane went and sat next to Serena. She listened to what Bane said and now he mentioned it, it did seem rather strange. "makes you wonder if the vessel of Apollo is their main objective" she commented back.

Sam came out a couple of minutes later with the drinks and cookies on a tray. "drinks are here" Sam chimed, putting the tray down on the table so everyone could get what they wanted easily enough. She then sat next to Kay on her other side, so she was in the middle of John and Sam.
Sam smiled as Serena asked about hot chocolate and nodded, "girl, I always got hot coco in" she said to her, walking to the kitchen to make the hot drinks for everyone who wanted them and to dig out the cookies.

Kay turned her head to John and looked at him, to make sure he was alright, squeezing his shoulder with her hand. "you going to be alright?" she asked him.
Kay glanced at Sam comforting Serena which she smiled at, seeing that after all this time she really hasn't changed. Sam caught Kay looking and gave her a small smile back before looking up at Bane returning with a suggestion for what to do. "I think that's our best bet" Kay replied, "anyone in need of a drink or food whilst you wait for updates?" Sam asked around the room.

"that'd be great, thanks Sam. I'll have a coffee if you got it in and please say you still keep a large stash of cookies" Kay commented, remembering her sister's love for the food. "of course I do!" Sam smiled, standing up. "anyone else?" she asked.
Sam looked over when Serena went to get up but stumbled backwards. She quickly walked over and helped Serena sit back down. "take it easy, you need rest as well" she told her. "Kay has it under control for John" shhe added.

"don't know if I should be worried or flattered you're getting this worked up over me" Kay told him, trying to make a little joke to try and cheer him up a bit. "but don't be sorry, we all need a comforting hand at some point" she added.
