Kay found herself gripping John tighter when he told her he would always come for her. She wasn't usually the sentimental or emotional type, but since being with John and being linked with him, she had grown to be a lot more open with her emotions and feelings for another person. "And I'll always come running for you when you need me" she told him back.

When Serena reached the kitchen Sam smiled and placecd the mug of hot tea in front of her. "It's okay, hopefully this will help. It's a special brew that has a calming factor in it. it always works for me, so hopefully it'll help you" she explained.
John's words made Kay nod slowly as she took in his words. The fact he would willingly out his own soul back on the line for her hit her hard emotionally. She didn't even care that his shirt was blood stained, she moved from her position and curled into him, hugging him tightly. "thank you for saving me John. For a brief moment I thought I'd never see any of you again, I'm glad I was wrong" she said to him.

Sam nodded at Serena's words but didn't say anything more to her. Instead she let her take her time to gather herself by leaving her be and heading into the kitchen. Taking the kettle off the stove, she pulled four mugs down from the cupboard and the teabags, putting one in each mug before pouring the hot water into each mug.
Kay listened to him tell her what happened and looked down at her hands, which she interlinked together. "I can't believe I'm saying this but... I'm glad she stopped you from going that far. I'm more glad that you got me out of there though" she told him. "having my phoenix aura be literally ripped from me? It's like nothing I've ever felt before, I could not only feel my pain, but Fee's as well" she explained, unblinking her fingers and running her left index finger round the rope marks on her right wrist. "I thought I'd be gone before you got to me John..."

"it's okay, I'll be in the kitchen so meet me in there Nd you'll have a warming cup of tea waiting for you" Sam replied to her, standing up as she hesrd the kettle whistle as it reached its boiling point. "Kay is awake and alright, if that brings any comfort" she added.
As John returned, Kay reopened her eyes and looked at him, now seeing the bloodied state he was in, making the connection to why Sam wanted him out the room moments ago. She nodded at his first question as she ran a hand through her hair, tucking some behind her ear. "I'm okay.. Disorientated a little, but okay" she replied to him as she hesrd the front door open and close in the hallway.

"I'll be right back, leave you two to it" Sam spoke, standing up off the floor a d heading to the kitchen to do what she promised Serena...putting on the kettle on the stove to make cups of tea for everyone. As she let that do its job, she walked to where Serena was and squatted down. "why don't you come into the kitchen, it'll be more comfortable than the floor" she suggested.

Kay looked at John's shirt once more then up into his eyes, "what happened John? How are you so bloody?" she asked him.
Kay gripped Sam's hands tightly, wanting to feel that security she always used to from her sister. She hoped John was okay and Serena, despite her being in her own predicament. "Are they okay? Where's Serena?" she asked Sam, "It's okay Kay, they're okay. You don't need to worry about them, just focus on yourself alright? You are allowed to put yourself first sometimes" Sam told her, stroking her hair, albeit she reached out hesitantly at first.

With Sam stroking her hair, Kay closed her eyes and sighed, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. "I just want them to be safe and okay as well" Kay said with a sigh, slowly reopening her eyes and found her vision was coming back to her as she focused her eyes on Sam's face. "I know, but they're going to be fine. Serena just needed some air that's all, she'll be in soon and JOhn will be back shortly as well" Sam explained.
Sam stood up, patted Serena's shoulder softly and walked back inside, closing the front door behind her knowing Serena could easily get inside now she had the keys. She really hoped that Serena would be okay, but the guilt of going so far was evident on the woman's face and that almost haunted Sam's memory. Shaking it off her mind as best she could, she walked into the living room and saw Kay was awake but her eyes looked so different.

She waited for John to finish talking to her before stepping closer. "John, I've got this" she told him, but her eyes said 'go clean up'. The fact she overheard him avoid telling Kay what happened told her that now was not the time to hint that John was in a real mess and covered in the assailant's blood. She herself had only truly noticed just how badly it was on John which made her wonder just how far was too far. Memories of the night before and their conversations coming into her mind, and it was now evident that when John said he would do anything to keep Kay safe, he really wasn't kidding.

"Sam?" Kay asked, trying to find her which made Sam walk over and squat on the ground beside her, taking Kay's hands, seeing the marks of restraints on her wrists. "I'm here Kay, it's okay" she told her, trying to reassure her beloved sister.
Sam sighed but she didn't move at first, as she really wanted to see if Serena was truly okay, or at least, going to be okay. She just wanted to help but she didn't know how to when it came to this new dark world. At her request about John, she nodded, "Okay, here. Take the car key and the house keys. Make your way inside when you're ready to alright? Just lock the car when you're ready to come inside. I'll see to John and I'll get the kettle on for a calming cup of tea for you and everyone else" she explained, holding the keys out to her.

Hearing John's voice was a relief to Kay as it meant she was safe. She heard no urgency or panic in his tone which told her he had gotten her to safety and the feel of the couch under her made her guess mentally that it was Sam's house they were at. The smell of the house felt familiar to her. She nodded at him telling her to relax as she lifted a hand up to take his hand but it felt wet on his knuckles so she let go. "John what happened?" she asked.
Sam listened and wondered what Serena did that made her lose control. She placed a comforting hand on Serena's shoulder, just as she used to do for Kay when they were younger. "It's okay, you can take all the time you need, there's no rush" she told her softly.

Kay subconsciously leaned her head into his hand as she managed to open her eyes, even if it was with a bit of effort. "J-John..?" she asked weakly, letting her eyes find his. Her eyes flickering between Fee's golden pupilless ones and her own grey blue ones which made her vision blurry and foggy which gave her the sensation of being partially blind and it scared her.
Sam let John bring Kay inside but when Serena didn't follow straight away, she couldn't help but look toward the car and see her still in there. Frowning, she looked behind her for a split second before heading back out to the car and opening Serena's door. "you okay?" she asked cautiously.

As Kay's breathing began steadying itself, her eyes began to flicker once again and this time little groans started to escape her lips as she tried to wake up properly, hearing John's voice break through her subconscious.
Sam didn't believe Serena that she was alright but she knew she couldn't have any right to call her out on it as she had to focus on the driving. "okay" she replied as she kept driving, glad that the earlier traffic was proving to be lighter than when it was. The twenty minutes soon passed and Sam found herself pulling up onto the driveway and parking. Unclipping her seatbelt, she looked behind her to see if Kay was still convulsing and contorting.

During those twenty minutes, with John and the shadows helping, Kay's convulsing had managed to slow down and eventually stop as Sam had pulled up onto the driveway. Seeing her sister not fitting anymore made her internally sigh with relief. "I'll get the front door open" she said, opening the car door, grabbing her keys and getting out, running round to the house's front door, unlocking the door and getting inside, holding the door open for everyone.

Kay's breathing began to steady itself but she wasn't quite out of the woods just yet.
