Hmmm.... I was thinking a mix of Prussian and Arabic idk yet

We need more of these esoteric mixes! The setting will flourish with this ingenuity!
Awesome! Honestly though, I didn't think Luke's Ainsworth into halfway through writing it. At that point I just shrugged my shoulders and said "Oh well."

If you let me know what about katanas it is that makes you wary, let me know and I can try to avoid all those "strongest blade" tropes. I just don't like to be that guy that assumes things poorly and sounds like an ass hat.

Essentially it’s come to the fact that the majority of my experiences in my 16+ years of role-playing on forums makes me really anxious. Whether it is in fantastical RPs or survival horror (particularly the zombie kind) there’s always somebody who fetishizes the katana and utilizes it poorly. However, I’ve seen it done well and know fully that my nervousness is mostly due to bad experiences. I love the katana— it’s a great sword and fun weapon to incorporate (I actually really liked Seiken no Blacksmith’s take) and I’m willing to let people use it.

You know the “katana badass” tropes— so just make a fun and interesting character; show me how you do the thing.
Essentially, I don’t care if an individual has a more minimalist style or a more extensive one— just make correct line breaks and don’t break tense. Be consistent. I’m not asking people to be Tolkien, Hugo, Tolstoy, or Scott; just to own their style keep it fluid and have fun.

Basically be coherent and hit the enter button.

However, all rules of the RP will be followed or efforts will be made to adjust and consequences will be enacted. The end. No discussion on that point. This includes what I wrote in terms of writing level in aforementioned section. By making a CS you agree to the content of the rules and the GM regulations therein as well as my authority in general to make the best calls for the RP at large.
Or maybe about obsession for formatting?

I didn't take it as a critic, but I got mildly offended by your assumption that I don't know how to construct a proper text.

You don't need to teach me. But if you are that worried about formatting, metric and rigid rules to build a text, I'll abide by them.

Just remember that there are innumerous ways on how to organize a text, and not only one. Wordsmithing is not math. There is not a specific formula that you need to follow in order to produce good results.

There are many writing movements, both traditional and modern, that defend constructing texts without any metric or laws, instead thinking that it should come naturally; but there are also some that think that every text needs a rigid and specific metric and organization.

Personally I defend freedom in writing. Writing a story or a poem is different from writing an document. Any type of creative writing should be done without any kind of "rules" restricting it.

For example: emulating a foreign accent in a text.

It's more impacting if you write "Like zis for example" than doing something like:

"Oh, how are you today, fine gentlemen?" He asked with a strong germanic accent.

Of course, both can work, but witch one is more impacting in a text? Which one helps the most to create an atmosphere?

OBS: IMPORTANT!!!

I'm not mad people! I might be slightly annoyed, but I'm not irritated or mad at all! Take it easy.

Language is mechanical and a social science, and while style does persist it does have rules, guidelines, and ethos. Also, if you want to imply I am the ubermensch of grammatical elitism… fixed your post there for you.
I think your rules are fair and clear, as everything else. And I'm not just saying that cause we're friends.

Since, I'd tell you what I thought regardless. I'm not a whisperer. I tell people straight up.

@MissCapnCrunch

I don’t expect perfection nor do I expect everyone to write like me— just enough fluidity to make ideas consistent and well fluid. But I wrote the rules pretty clearly and my points expanding on them in the last page should get the point across well enough, I think. I want to have fun, too.

I've been here for over 6 years now I think and I only have had 3 people pull an option C on me so I'm doing good for myself.

I think I lost track after I had 1 person pulled an option C on me. But people are subtle and behind-the-scenes whisperers, so its not like I was aware of it for months on end.
But no, really this comes from an idea I had way back in Grevious Khan’s A Glided Throne, though for various reasons I decided to play pretty typical Brythonic-influenced folks instead of this. I wanted to come up with the prospect of a racially diverse people who were East Asian in appearance but culturally more in line with the Germanic kingdoms of the early middle ages— The Frankish Kingdom, The Burgundian Kingdom, Saxony, Brittany, Lombardy, etc.

From there I wanted to give them a reason to be surrounded by European-esque cultures, so I developed a naval identity (hence Polynesia), and then spin my own ideas from there during the course of the RP’s prebuilding draft and then the RP itself. It’s an incredibly niche and perhaps esoteric idea, but I’ve played white people with bows or white people with swords for a few times enough to want to try something new. I mean imagine if the Katana was perfected with European steelworking instead of the “pig iron” concept or how a shogunate-like concept evolving alongside European customs would be.

That sounds kinda fun-but-hard to pull off.

But now I'm super-duper interested to see how it turns out.

C’mon, it’ll be a hoot!

Quick, shitpost

Let's talk about the obsession of the katana!
