Goodbye Miura. One of my favorite fantasy authors of all time has gone too soon.

Don't forget, they made another new hero named Screentime. A meme loving superhero who got his powers from exposure to internet gas. He has the ability to basically be a smart phone.

Whenever you're feeling down, just remember that this man is cheering you on: youtu.be/KxGRhd_iWuE
Katsuo would have made quite some progress on his way to the city center when something in the distance began to shine in his eyes. The Sun was reflecting off of a black motorcycle that was being ridden through the city streets by some figure that was much too far away to be recognized. The identity of this rider didn't matter in his eyes though. What did matter was that there was someone in the city who was probably looking for a way out of Tokyo-to and these beasts were probably swarming them. Someone needed help and that was all the young hero needed to know before his priorities changed from stopping this crises to saving them. Skidding to a stop and kick up some of the road beneath his feet, he changed directions and leaped toward the direction of Tsuruhime.
When Katsuo got close enough to the magical girl though, he'd have yet another change of plans as another hero joined the fray. Since the gun summoning, angry looking girl looked like she was no civilian upon closer look, he directed himself instead to the missile summoning, ecstatic looking girl who appeared to be blowing up dozens of the creatures as well as whatever buildings and such were nearby. She hadn't toppled anything yet or caused the roads to be completely irreparable, but there was no telling what damage she could do if this were merely a fraction of her power.
Throwing himself toward the rocket Hanako was riding atop of, Midori Kamen only just barely got a grip on the tail fin of it, the flames from the back almost scorching him. "Hey! You! Cool it with the missiles! You're going to end up doing more damage than the monsters possibly could!" he shouted over the sound of the rockets and roaring wind.
When the Dionaea was released from its captivity Robert had his back turned to the giant plant Grimm, so as it flung out its roots towards each student present, he was completely ill prepared. "Begin? What was that about- Whoa!" he said before vaulting over the incoming appendage, just barely avoiding being struck. "Jeez, that thing could have taken my head o- Gah!" From the other direction, a second root came from behind and collided with Robert's back, his aura keeping him from receiving any major injuries as it flung him across the room. It didn't, however, negate all of the pain as he skid across the stone floor, snapping a couple of the wooden poles that stood in his way.
Once his roll of pain was finally halted by the hard solid wall, Robert shakily rose back up to his feet, stumbling back the way he came to rejoin Trad, Cian, and Llyr. Rolling his head in a circle and receiving several cracks from his neck, he let out a sigh. "That... hurt," the redhead cautioned his friends, letting them know that being hit by their Grimm opponent was not recommended.
Hearing Trad's new plan, Robert decided to follow orders and transformed his weapon to its ballistic mode, aiming toward the Dionaea and opening fire. A barrage of 10mm rounds struck the creature, tearing through its foliage-like faces and necks. If Trad wanted him and Cian to grab the thing's attention all on their own, the pair were certainly doing the best they could.
Oh crap, sorry I was supposed to post awhile ago. I'll get one up later today after work. If you want to post anyway I don't know if there's anything Trad has to add.
That's alright. I'll start working on a post then when I get the chance.
"Have a taste of my foot!" Midori Kamen cried out as he kicked another of these strange monsters in the face, it's crumpled corpse soon dissolving just as the last thirty had. Taking each of these strange creatures out was no problem for the rookie hero. They were on a complete other level when it came to low intelligence, not at all organizing themselves to attack when he was weakest and instead just lunging forward on sight. They weren't impressively strong either, having the same amount of power behind their attacks as a normal human would, which paled in comparison to the green-clad protector's own strength. That wasn't the problem though. The problem was that there seemed to be an almost endless supply of them and soon enough he was bound to be swarmed and crushed under a tidal wave of the beasts. Already, there was probably more of these things then there was litter on the ground and that number was still steadily increasing. There had to be a source, somewhere that all of these things were coming from, and he needed to find it and shut it down.
Like an unfortunate victim of a flood, Midori Kamen began to wade through the sea of beasts as he attempted to follow their path of destruction. Though instead of just trying to keep his head above the tide, he needed to instead punch and kick the water until it disappeared. Perhaps this flood analogy wasn't the most accurate comparison, especially when the number of them is still small enough that I can distinguish which creature's body parts belong to which. For now at least. That won't last forever though and fighting each individual monster is seriously slowing me down. It's time to think of a new strategy. Pushing back the beasts nearest to him, the young hero began to put his untested plan into action.
Gathering up all of the strength in his legs, he began to run. He'd need the running start in order to make this work. Once he'd gotten enough speed, he slammed his foot into the ground and pushed off with as much force as he could, sending him flying through the air. The power of flight was unfortunately not one of the powers granted to him be the Spirit of the Earth, however his super strength allowed Katsuo to have the next best thing: superpowered leaping. In a single bound, the seventeen year old would find himself so high that he could easily spot the pattern of the monsters below him. They were all coming from city's center, though he couldn't see if it was a portal, an even bigger monster, or something else that was the actual cause of all this. After landing on a couple more of the beasts, Midori Kamen would get into position to do another jump closer to the center of Tokyo-to.
Bio: When asked what his favorite game was, Roukan would always answer Elder Tale with no hesitation. Ever since he could type on a keyboard, the young boy spent hours grinding for experience and gold, with many of his closest friends and relationships being formed while exploring the game's countless dungeons. The first and only guild he ever joined was The Condemned 105th Mercenary Company, a small group of about ten people that a jarhead friend of his created because the name sounded cool.
Outside of the game, Roukan would describe his life as boring and uninteresting. He had a job, was attending college, had friends and family, but he always felt like something was missing in his life. He tried out different hobbies, attempted the horrors of dating, but nothing seemed to give him the kind of excitement he longed for and every day felt like a struggle as he did his best to keep up the facade of contentment. The only place of enjoyment he ever found was his almost unhealthy fixation with Elder Tale, a game he would play more of if not for the distractions of every day life.
When the Apocalypse came and the players were trapped inside of the famous MMO, Roukan, who always preferred going by his username Convel than his real name, was the only one of his friends online, the rest of them having gotten bored and moved onto other games over the years. Unable to really enjoy the new expansion without a group of other players to support, especially with the thought that he might not ever see his family again, the only people he ever bothered spending time with outside of the game, the young man has been hopping from adventuring party to adventuring party for the past two weeks in the hopes of finding a new group to play with.
Personality: Convel has a tendency to worry more about his comrades than his own well being, both on the battlefield and during downtime. Ask anyone and they'll tell you that the man is an optimist, but really he just hides his negative thoughts and emotions so that his friends and teammates have someone to look up to when things get rough. He knows that one day all of his fears, frustrations, and grief will catch up with him, but for now he shoulders that burden to be the shining beacon of hope that the guild needs.
Conchobar's Bastard Sword: A might blade capable of being used either as a one handed weapon or two handed. Covel acquired it with his friends after farming the same dungeon for weeks upon weeks, having defeated the boss so many times that he still remembers their moveset.
Unyielding Aegis: The only other Artifact-class equipment Covel owns, he ended up saving up and buying it at the auction house instead of farming for it as his quest to receive his sword still gives him nightmares.
Convel's Nerdy Ass Helmet: Crafted by Convel's blacksmith friend, Barry the Shit Slinger. Description reads: Makes the wearer's dick look tiny in comparison to the stupid fucking unicorn horn on his head. Convel never cared enough to change the name or its description.
Convel's Shitty Ass Chestpiece: Crafted by Convel's blacksmith friend, Barry the Shit Slinger. Description reads: Inflates the wearer's ego by making everyone think he works out, but really he's a weak ass bitch. Convel never cared enough to change the name or its description.
Convel's Pansy Ass Bracers: Crafted by Convel's blacksmith friend, Barry the Shit Slinger. Description reads: Protect's the wearer's hands so they don't accidentally break their nails while hiding behind their pussy shield. Convel never cared enough to change the name or its description.
Convel's Crappy Ass Greaves: Crafted by Convel's blacksmith friend, Barry the Shit Slinger. Description reads: Keep's the wearer's toes safe from being stubbed on all of corners they seems incapable of fucking avoiding. Convel never cared enough to change the name or its description.
Wolf Howl: A whistle that allows Convel to summon his mount, a giant gray wolf.
Anchor Howl: Establish yourself as a threat to the enemy by raising a loud cry, a powerful Guardian provocation skill that instantaneously raises your own Hate. Since you are taking the brunt of the enemy's attacks, you gain a DEF boost for a short while.
Cross Slash: Pooling your power into your brandished weapon, strike twice in a shape of an X.
Taunting Blow: Increase Hate towards yourself while attacking by using large gestures.
Shield Smash: Simply beat someone up with your equipped Shield. The damage dealt is not very high, but it has many effects such as disrupting troublesome attacks or the casting of magic spells, and daunting enemies.
Shield Swing: Wielding a Shield, rush into an enemy and deal a heavy blow to an opponent. This skill consumes slightly more MP, but has a wider range of effect; if correctly positioned, the user can hit multiple enemies. The damage output of this skill depends on the Shield's Defense stat.
Castle of Stone: Become the pinnacle of defense, an immobile fortress of stone that can take all damage for a short duration. It is one of the strongest defense skills, exclusive to Guardians. When this skill is in effect, the user's body looks like it is made of marble.
Covering: Before enemies can get too close, stand in their way to defend another member of your team and take the damage for them, another signature skill of the Guardian class. Because you have to be in position before activating the skill, the party's formation is important.
Iron Bounce: Take the opponent's attack on a strong part of your equipment, reducing the damage. There is a chance that this skill will automatically activate when you are hit. As the proficiency level of this skill increases, the amount of damage taken is further reduced, and the chance of the skill activating automatically increases.
Steady Bulwark: Ready your shield in a defensive pose to reduce damage. A dome-shaped light encases your allies within a certain range, applying the damage reduction effect to them as well. The higher the Defense of your shield, the greater the effect of this skill.
Vicarious Shield: Prevent a fatal blow at the expense of your shield. The moment your HP drops to 0, a portion of your HP will be instantly restored.
Heavy Armor Stance: Stick close to an opponent, preventing them from moving away from you. However, you have to be careful of pushback skills that could disrupt this stance. When this skill is in effect, there is a dull chain between you and your target.
Resilience: Showing the durability of a Guardian's strong body, recover HP during battle as if you were resting. HP is gradually recovered, but not at the rate of a Druid's heal-over-time spells.
Taunting Shout: Basic provocation skill that targets one opponent and directs the attention towards you. With this, your allies can attack without worry of becoming targeted. When this skill is used, there is an air wave effect around you as you raise a loud cry.
Step Over: If there is a trap, you can break it by force and take damage in return. If it is successful, the trap will then be disabled for a period of time, and your allies can pass through safely.
Wolf's Olfaction: You may recognize and act against hidden characters.
Lunatic Armor: You double both your damage output and damage taken.
"Noted," Robert replied back to Trad as he was asked to remind him to always give such a flattering introduction.
Soon after, the notably late Prof. Port finally arrived to class to introduce them all to their next big group assignment. A giant tentacle monster. If the boy had a larger knowledge of dirty humor and watched animated pornographic movies from the Eastern continent, also known as hentai, he might have made a comment about how he knew where this whole situation would lead to. Sadly, the innocent and naive boy did not know of such videos and no such joke would be made. At least by him.
Upon hearing his teammate's plan on how to possibly defeat the massive plant Grimm, Robert nodded. Overall, everything sounded fine to him, except one thing. "As great as your semblance may be, I don't know if it's a smart idea to only have one person at the divergence team while everyone else wails on the thing. Maybe we should try to get the rest of the class in on this plan and see if we have any more tanks to soak up the hits. If we don't, maybe I can pair up with you and just try my best to avoid getting hit," he said.
And there it was again, the redhaired hunter volunteering for the most dangerous job, despite his abilities not even being the best suited to the task. If they wanted someone fast to play decoy so they could possibly avoid getting hit, someone like Jack or Ashe would be much better suited. If they wanted someone to play the damage sponge, Trad or Ben with their shields would be the best choices. Here he was though, picking himself to be Trad's partner. If he hadn't recently changed his outlook on life back to his usual cheery self, one could be forgiven for thinking the boy had some sort of death wish or at the very least have a masochistic streak in him.
Robert gave an awkward laugh as Trad approached the group, joking about how he had brushed off the rest of the team late last night and all morning. He felt far from comfortable knowing he had been so rude to the people that were supposed to be his friends. Well Grane was more of a battle buddy to rely on in a fight than someone to go hang out with around Vale, though Sand and Trad were still people he enjoyed spending time with. "Yeah, sorry about that. I was just... dealing with stuff. I don't want to really get into it now and risk returning to my sour mood, but for now... Well I'm back to feeling like me again," he replied.
Turning to Llyr as he asked for an introduction to Trad, the redhead student replied back in his best announcer voice, "Actually, I'm his hypeman. Trad over here is my team's resident tank. Wielding his weapons Gram and Sfa- Snai- Sva- his shield, Mr. Oak is capable of becoming the greatest immovable object Remnant has ever seen and it isn't because of all of those bags of chips and cigarettes. No, because my steadfast teammate here can use his semblance to root himself to the ground, becoming absolutely invincible with the only draw back being the inability to move. Should this warden of Beacon ever enter the ring, you'd be a fool to not put your money on Trad Oak!" After finishing his long winded introduction, Robert flashed the shieldbearer a smile and a thumbs up.
