Siolo Mevic
Age: 32
Species: Twi'lek
Physical Appearance: The lean framed Jedi stands 5'10 in height, with a blue complexion accompanied by hazel colored eyes. His facial features are masculine with a firm chin and a noticeable jawline. Like the rest of his species he is devoid of hair, while his skin is lacking in tattoos or piercings only baring a few small scars along his chest. Due to his role as a Jedi investigator he does not often wear the typical robes of a Jedi, instead he'll adopt whichever outfits fit his missions. Often times these 'disguises' are casual and plain, helping him to not stand out.
Lightsaber: The Twi'lek wields a
single bladed green lightsaber with an amber tinted shade on its hilt. Its design is simple and is the first lightsaber he assembled. Even if his role within the Order does not often call for him to wield his lightsaber as much as other Jedi he still keeps top care of it. On undercover endeavors he'll often tuck it deep into a bag or jacket pocket, or even leave it in a secure location to minimize possible suspicion.
Skills:
- Hand to hand combat - For missions where he is without his lightsaber or requires a more inconspicuous defense method the Twi'lek has learned several forms of martial arts. He is particularly talented at non lethal takedowns, whether it be a strong jab or a chokehold he can knock out opponents with skill. In tune with his lean and agile frame he's capable of taking down larger opponents unarmed or even multiple enemies at the same time. With subtle combinations of his Force abilities he can further strengthen his hand to hand potential.
- Slicing - A talent especially suited for his role within the Jedi Order, Siolo is quite adept at breaking into computers and datapads in order to extract or discover information.
- Detective mode - Due to years of experience in his field the Jedi is proficient at following trails, piecing together clues or analyzing forensics. His master's teaching in this field are something which particularly stuck with him.
- Languages - Siolo is fluent in his people's native language Twi'leki as well as Galactic Basic and Huttese. Three of the most common languages in the galaxy.
Lightsaber Forms Siolo is knowledge and quite skilled in two forms of lightsaber combat. These being form V, Shien and the first form, Shii-Cho. While form I is considered a simple form the Twi'lek is quite talented with it, displaying a surprising amount of speed and ability. He will often use the Sun djem attack within the form to disarm opponents in order to take them in alive. It is a handy skill for when his operations do fall apart and hes exposed. His Shien was adopted in order to handle multiple blaster wielding opponents, aiding him in escaping difficult situations.
Force Abilities:
- Basic Force abilities like telekinesis and dash - The Jedi knight is at an advanced level with the essential Force powers of a Jedi. Slightly above that of a typical Jedi knight due to his focus on Force abilities over lightsaber combat.
- Force Stasis - One of the Jedi's most frequently used abilities, Siolo will often use it with non lethal intentions in order to apprehend or stop his opponents. He's quite skilled with it, able to chain it up to a full handful of enemies with full efficiency. A higher number of opponents is a harder ask.
- Mind Trick - Often used by the Jedi investigator in subtle ways in order to coerce another person or to get them to spill information, it is an ability he is quite adept with. Though he's found some species to be strongly resistant to it.
- Comprehend Speech - A commonly used power by Siolo, especially when on more alien filled worlds. He's skilled with it and able to translate most words and sentences to where he can understand them. More obscure or ancient languages are more difficult for him to translate.
- Force-listening - One of the Force abilities which the twi'lek is lesser skilled in, Siolo is able to listen in on conversations from a distance. Its quite effective at gathering information and he can use it in tune with his Comprehend Speech ability, though this tends to be a difficult combo. His strength with the listening wavers with the distance he is from those he is eavesdropping on.
- Force projection - His newest power and the one which fascinates him the most. The ability allows him to project a mirror image of himself which was visible to all around it. He does not rely on the power but has been known to use it in simple ways. Often projecting the 'hologram' to run down an opposite hallway before fading away or to go off a ledge before similarly fading into nothing. More intense application of it strains him. It is a power he still very much needs to master.
Weaknesses:
- Prideful - Siolo is an accomplished man especially in his field of Jedi work. Failures are not something that happen often for the Investigator. He has a certain arrogance to him, while not overbearing it is evident he has an high belief in his own abilities and talents. This pride can rub off on some people the wrong way.
- Not Combat Focused - While the Twi'lek is no slouch when it comes to putting up a fight he is by no means a true Jedi warrior. He isn't fit to fight on a battlefield cutting down hordes of enemies or tearing through other Force users. He isn't a master duelist with his lightsaber. Someone stronger with a blade could defeat him though he would still go all out in a fight.
- Solo artist - More often than not Siolo operates alone, while he'll frequently have contacts or interact with local planetary law enforcement he does the bulk of his business by himself. He's uncomfortable working alongside someone he'd have to keep his eye on or share information with. His personality also reflects this as he is privy to hold his feelings or thoughts to himself. He's had to acquire the ability to lie which will sometimes lead to him lying to people who aren't against him.
- Judgemental - In his life as a Jedi he has seen some rough sights, murder scenes, kidnappings, families torn apart, slavery rings. Siolo holds a pretty black and white view on these type of people, he'll often remember 'bad' things that people did and form judgements based on initial impressions. He's not beyond making rough remarks if someone really rubs him the wrong way.
Character History: Siolo Mevic was born on the Twi'lek homeworld of Ryloth, a humid Outer Rim planet with a notorious history in the slave trade. The future Jedi was born into simple beings, a large family with multiple older siblings. His family was poor but they were a loving one. He lived the first few years of his life in the capital city of Lessu. When he was five years old a traveling Jedi stopped by the world and discovered the force sensitive Siolo. A short time later he was taken away from his family and his homeworld to be brought to the bustling galactic capital of Coruscant. The change of planets was a jarring one for the young boy as his desert covered homeworld did not compare at all to the city covered Republic world. The Jedi Order was another adjustment for him but his mother had told him ancient tales of the Jedi as bedtime tales. Ancient noble warriors wielding blades of light to fight back against evil in the galaxy. He'd never have guessed that he would one day become one of them.
The Twi'lek would pass his initiate trials with comfort, showcasing a natural affinity with the Force. He would be risen to the rank of padawan and taken as an apprentice by the wise Tera Sinube, an elder Jedi master who had several padawans before him. Master Sinube was perhaps the Order's greatest Jedi investigator, the same role which Siolo would take up in his life down the road. The Cosian Jedi was a patient being who would teach the young Twi'lek much while the boy was under his tutelage. He'd often accompany his master on travels around Coruscant investigating and solving the many crimes which infested the criminal underworld of the galactic capital. Siolo showcased talent in this field of Jedi work, foreshadowing his own future role within the Order. He would remember his years under his old master fondly, still looking up to the man proudly.
As the years passed his time spent under his master's tutelage would shrink. As he grew into adulthood he would establish his own talents separate from his master's. Siolo would often conduct operations at a distance from his master, blending into the crowds or even going undercover in order to help his master solve crimes or stop the most dangerous criminals. At the age of twenty two the Twi'lek would take the Jedi Trials, Master Sinube and Siolo himself declaring that he was truly ready for the next step in his life. He would go on to pass the trials at a closer rate than he did his Initiate Trials but succeeded nicely. He was knighted before the council and had achieved a goal to be proud of in the life of a Jedi. Shortly after his Knight ceremony and with the full recommendation of his master Siolo was appointed as a Jedi investigator. From that moment on he would begin to work on his own, frequently sent to the more dangerous urban worlds throughout Republic space in order to sniff out and sabotage the most nerfarious criminals and threats.
Some of his first missions would take place in the grand population centers of Republic space, planets he'd grow most comfortable operating in. These included worlds such as Naboo, Corellia and Coruscant. The talented twi'lek would find himself frequently planted into criminal organizations such as pirate groups, spice cartels and full fledged gangs. In these situations he would adapt an alias and disrupt criminal operations where he saw fit, or track down and arrest the most influential members. It was extremely dangerous, risky work but something he'd grow used to doing as the years rolled on. A particularly thrilling operation involved tracking down a suspected terrorist on the Cloud City of Bespin in which a crazed radical seeked to plant explosives on the grand mining colony. Siolo would play a very important part in tracking down and apprehending the terrorist without civilian causality.
Though the Jedi knight's life much like billions of others across the galaxy would be shaken by the Clone Wars, a brutal conflict which engulfed the Republic and the Jedi in a war. As the separatist droid armies threatened the very existence of the proud Republic, Siolo was called into service. His role would differ from that of many Jedi, instead of leading the grand clone armies the twi'lek would instead find himself playing the role of saboteur spy. He'd be involved in multiple Republic war efforts by dropping behind separatist lines and disrupting their war efforts. Planting explosives in droid factories or sabotaging their great machines of war the investigator turned secret agent had no lack of work during the war. He would not take part in the conflict on his homeworld of Ryloth, much to his chagrin. Though he had full faith in his proud people to fight back against the encroaching droid armies.
Siolo would suffer a setback during an operation at the end of his contribution to Republic's war effort. Following the detonation of explosives within a separatist stronghold he'd find himself chased by the droid forces. While he managed to escape with his life he did suffer a glancing blaster shot to the arm and shattered bones in his right leg following a rough fall. Still, the Republic forces would arrive and get him way from danger. The incident resulted in him being sidelined from the war as it continued to rage. Following this he was instead put back into undercover work on the Core World of Corellia, a planet he was familiar with. He'd once again assume another identity in order to track down, stop and expose a suspected human trafficking ring operation within the world.
Corellia was where the Jedi was when that fateful day came and the his kind were declared traitors. Siolo sensed a strange sensation in the force as the Jedi were hunted and slain across the galaxy. He did not understand what had fully happened until some time afterwards. At that moment he realized he'd been placed into the unsettling position as a wanted criminal, soon to be hunted by the clones he'd fought alongside during the war. Siolo has remained undercover since then, confident in his safety and hidden identity operating in the grimiest parts of Coronet City.
Order 66: Quite simply Siolo was nowhere near any clones or other Jedi when the Order came down. He was in some of the dirtiest, dangerous parts of Corellia where the clone troopers weren't anywhere to be found. This gave him an advantage at avoiding detection, also due to the fact he was and still is deep undercover. If the clones did come searching for him they wouldn't find him wearing the telltale robes of a Jedi or wielding his lightsaber openly. They'd find it very hard to pick him out of a crowd.
