Hilarious joke, that's what I am.

Y'know, I doubt anyone remembers what else is on the planet...besides the hungry beasties.
@Zahir

Only kind of my intent. Gotta have a few less natural threats.
I probably should have mentioned everybody in that so....@Polaris North@Zahir@Rune_Alchemist@LissaLu@dabombjk

That sounds pretty high maintenance for you, but I guess it'd be alright.
A massive rumbling shook the entire hemisphere of the planet. The space around the Alcatraz changed to a dark shade of purple as space seemed to compress around the front of the vessel. The entire planet was disturbingly silent as what sounded like a massive device charging slowly increased in volume. All of those that had worked with large vessels knew exactly what was happening.

A weapon that was clearly not meant to be fired in-atmosphere, was preparing to fire. The few that knew the specs on the Alcatraz realized it was the main hybrid cannon that took up the entire frontal lower deck. None had even seen the gun fire in space, let alone on a planet that was clearly unprepared for the catastrophic weapon. It wasn't a planet destroying weapon, but it would easily obliterate heavily fortified positions and most capital ships.

A few minutes later a blast seemed to vibrate the air itself as the area within a few hundred kilometers of the Alcatraz grew at least twenty degrees hotter. The resulting shockwave flattened weaker trees all over the place as the local fauna fled in every direction. A second after the first shot that was fired, a dark purple beam emitted from the front of the ship leaving a wake of fire spanning much of the area around it. All of those that didn't prepare in the moments leading up to the blast were temporarily deafened by the incredibly loud noise. Some were even blown back by the shockwave.

It was a mystery really, what could such a weapon be meant for on a prison ship? Why would it have been fired now? What was it meant to hit? All of these questions completely unanswerable to the inmates and crew that were still so far behind the vessel.
Rheese Laudat

Mesalon Pokemon Center

"Fuck it, I'm scared to run into him and you should be too." Rheese said propping his head up with one arm. "He has several fully evolved Pokemon that are very clearly out of our league right now. Be scared of the megalomaniac douche with strong Pokemon, at least until we get somewhere in this journey." Rheese wasn't going to sugarcoat it, Detective Asshat was a threat. Hopefully though, he wouldn't be hanging around the town too much longer after his multiple humiliations.

"I agree we all need to stick together though, maybe spar or something? I know you guys have been training a bit more than I have, but there's no better way to improve."

Rachel

Rachel laughed a bit. "Armaldo's been with me for a good while. He's a core member of my gym team!" She said giving her Pokemon a hug that it pretended to shy slightly away from before nuzzling her back. "In fact, back when he was an Anorith he inspired me to stick with rock types!" A few of the non-locals put a bit of distance between themselves and the well of genuine enthusiasm that was Rachel.

"I think I understand." Rachel said nodding. "So, Hammer was bothering people and my brother stepped in." She seemed to be deep in thought for a few seconds before smiling widely. "I knew he had it in him! I always said he'd know when to quit being lazy and do something, I just never expected Hammer to be the one bringing out that side of him!"

Her expression darkened slightly. "Now this question's very important Amber...Did Hammer lay a finger on my little brother?" She asked inching closer. "Because if he did, I'll have some choice words...very choice words."
"Damnit!" Ian said as he was essentially abandoned to the oncoming hail of bullets. Not that he could really blame Rio, there wasn't much hope for her to make it in time but...Well There was a chance. Setting the jump jet to maximum forward thrust, the gunslinger easily propelled itself past the approaching brawler and back into optimal range on its opposite side while getting back into position to be covered. He fired the final rail-round directly into the bulky machine's weapon arm before it could turn its shield back around. It paid to be nimble sometimes. Skating to a halt back closer to where Gurevich was battling the other brawler, Ian recharged and reloaded his weapon.

He checked his shields to see that they were all but depleted by the assault, and his thrusters wouldn't be available for a moment or two. He breathed heavily for a few seconds and glared at the brawler he had just shot. A target that size and build would take a moment to reorient itself, the trouble of heavily armored GEARs. For now Ian would have to take advantage of his GEAR's small frame and hope that he wouldn't be a priority target back in the heat of the battlefield. He wouldn't give his performance an A, but a solid B+ was in order even if he was depowered in the next minute or so. Working with a non-AI team in these simulators actually seemed to be more difficult as he would normally take on level forty computers while other students were fighting in the actual arena. If this had been the qualifier, he had no doubt that their team's actions to this point would put them somewhere on the leaderboard...but probably not at the very top.
I'll figure a way to move forward without screwing anyone over.
@vancexentan@Ammokkx It's only half my fault. I've been trying to scramble to prepare for Finals. I swear I'm trying though.
@LuckyBlackCat I'm a bit busy prepping for finals right now, so I'll have to pass. I'll get one up in the next few days though.
