And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

I should have a post up in the next few days, but if you feel like going before I do would be for the best, feel free to.
I have my doubts on some random ripperdoc having the resources to make a personal thinking scavenging droid, but that may just be me @Jollan. Other than that being the source of his current modifications, I don't really have anything bad to say about it.

If I may offer an alternative, I would point back again at corporations. They are everywhere after all. A corporate sanctioned ripperdoc would be much more feasible already, but that would bring with it the need to bake some corporation who is currently rather mad at Jarred into his backstory. But that would just be fun, no?
The megacorps probably wouldn't like it if he went messing about with their "gift", so he would have to be extremely careful about it. Who knows, they might have put an explosive device in him that pings some parts to see if they are still there and goes boom if the check fails many enough times? But if he can circumvent any countermeasures the corporation might have put in, thorough great effort nonetheless, that might well work.
They all appear a bit advanced for our current desired tech level, I'll have to say. The one closest to working would indeed be character one, with them bearing close resemblance to our resident info broker Nina in the fact that both have had to replace parts of their body due to injury. I figure he could be some sort of a megacorporation goon actually: "Yeah, we'll refit you with some low-end cybernetics that'll keep you alive, you'll just owe every extended second to us." Do you think that might have something in it?
We do indeed remain open for fresh arrivals @Jollan!

If you want some character equipment info, you can always ask us, and I can even supply the base sourcebook for the TRPG we are using as our baseline, though even that has things that go beyond what we are currently really aiming for. If you have an idea we can look at, we can give suggestions based on that, so it works that way too! Just trying to keep a common level of ability here, as you may have noted.
Seemed like you guys were still heading out the door within the posts, so whether you step out to see me and the other two, or had already left via time skip magic. It is up to you. :P

I believe said decision has been left for you @13org, though you are welcome to consult me if you need it! Just remember the change in background music if new people arrive while they are still inside.
Leosin was bombarded with questions, though the occasion did not seem all that unfamiliar to him. He raised a waterskin to his lips and took a quick swig as the others were speaking, clearing his throat in preparation to voice his own thoughts. And again, he would begin from the question that had been asked first. If what he would request of them would indeed be to see to the destruction of the clutch. "You have found the truth of the matter, priestess. It will be difficult, but not impossible", he started with the matter of subterfuge before changing to the breaths of dragons as it was. "The black breathe acid, as it would happen. The white bring forth frost, and the green foul poison. Blue you know of, and red belch the fire."

"As for what I require of you, returning to their camp and seeing to the destruction of their clutch or even scouting out the information regarding their next move would be more than appreciated. You should have time on your side. They have rooted themselves in quite deep, as far as I have understood. They should not be leaving any time soon, so you may wait and strike when the time is right." The monk finished with a solemn nod and another sip of water before switching his focus to Brannor. "The dragon is not with them. It could not fit into the cave. Regrettably, I have little knowledge of the sturdiness of the eggs beyond that. But with your weapons and spells, I am sure they will give in", he explained, lacking in first hand knowledge and unable to tell from what he had read it seemed.

And finally, he turned to Torus. "As for what they seek to do beyond building a hoard worthy of their tyrant god, I have been unable to discern so far. If you find out anything about it, I would very much like to hear it. Why they are building the hoard in the first place is also a question that I am unsure of when it comes to the answer, other than that they keep praising it as 'worth the Queen of Dragons'."

With all of the questions answered, the monk would move on to his proposal. "While destroying the clutch would be the best outcome, all I truly need is knowledge of their upcoming antics and for that I will see to rewarding you handsomely. My travel fund, nor Greenest hold enough coin for me to make the payment here and now, but find me in Elturel afterwards, where I will have collected the money from my contacts. I promise you no less than seven hundred and fifty pieces of gold. That should amount to one hundred and fifty for each of you." The man paused, drawing a deep breath.

"It hate to ask anything more of you, after all you have already done. But the need is great, and I can only hope that you can aid me this one more time. I need you to return to the camp. You know your way to it and around it now. I need to know what they are planning", he expressed his regrets, before his face curled into a wry smile. "I don't recommend letting yourselves get captured."

Right, this is the moment.

Notable changes: A plot switched places. Write-ups have been improved for a few of them. Requirements loosened so that I am willing to give male partners a shot again.
Nina's show of her being unarmed was appreciated and all, being that it let the men have a good look at her, it didn't actually prove anything. She had enough chrome about to hide a metric crapton of guns in her body, and to be fair the door guard couldn't just go and demand people to rip off their legs when they came to the bar. Though that would be one way to sweep women off their feet. Croaks leaned back and tossed the carrying strap of his weapon on the other side of his neck, letting his left hand hang low while the right one remained on the handle and close to the safety trigger.

The talk went to megacorporations, and how everything was beyond their grasp there. Ribby let out a sigh. "Ya know, as much as you have a point there, look at us. Just… zone out of everything else for a second. For now, this table is everything. Done? Good, lets start adding pieces to the picture. This bar here? It's an entity all right, but we have it. It is friendly. You know why? Because the thing above the bar, the entire Zone, is too big to really care. And when you go to corps of that size… well, they span 'cross more than one Combat Zone. And if the locals dun give enough shits, what makes ya think these people do? They gave a shit about Lt. 'cause he stirred up shit. We just tryna make do. And what ya think if we find 'im for 'em?" the man offered a counterpoint. They were too small for the megacorporations to truly care. But if they did a good turn for them, the big guns might solve their troubles for them. After all, they had sent a messenger all the way over here and they were still not dead. What else could that be taken as but an indirect job offer?

But soon after came the part where the info broker once more took the gang boss along with her. Question was, why? Did she have some purpose for the man in mind? She had brought up the idea in the first place. To be fair, Croaks would have gone along just for the looks alone, but you couldn't just let a pretty face get to you. You needed to keep some sort of a guard up, especially so when it was the other party that made the proposal. But for now, the only promise requested was to not keep rapping his fingers on the gun. While Croaks untangled it from his string vest, he gave the gal a smirk. "As long as you don't bore me to death", he stated his terms, looking around the bar.

He was weighing his options. He could either get his gunfight vest, or just go as was. And given how the broker was looking, going as was didn't seem like too bad an idea. But he had this gun. Bah, no need to go nuts about it. Turning towards the door, he waved for Nina to follow. "If you had a plan on how to go from here, let's hear it. See how hard it butts heads with mine", he kept on with the group leader status he'd grown so accustomed to.

But to be fair, that was pretty much the only familiar thing in this all. He'd fought for this opportunity ever since the dark skinned man had turned away from their table and marched out of the bar, having delivered his message. The message had raised more questions than anything else, and the answers were out there in the NC. But as one knew, just going poking around at random was at least six times more likely to get you death than any other result. And even the info broker could only tell them so much. At least she would have the routine on where to go next. Because Croaks knew he would have no clue to save his life. But he had a plan. Built on occurrences and what he knew, but a plan nonetheless. The bigger and badder of the two bosses as he was, he was not a bumbling idiot. Or so he liked to tell himself anyway.

@13org
Details about the bar, coming right up @SleepingSilence.

Well, first things first, while The Colonel's Corner Amphibians do hold public relations there, it is also a bar in their absence. A bar with significantly less lead at the ready to be certain, but a bar nonetheless. Said place is not exactly in the clearest of views, just some back alley establishment that actually manages to avoid most of the rabble thanks to that. And they do benefit of the little symbiosis with the gang, what with them helping keep things orderly.

Then for those who might or might not quit. Whether Croaks and Nina make it away before the Reapers arrive, Ribby and most of the gang would still remain. Not to mention the chromed bouncer and autoturret at the entrance making sure people actually leave their guns outside. Might not deter a hitsquad, but works on the usual Combat Zone folk. Bloody two-legged bloodhounds though? That would be a peculiar case for sure. Not what they are used to at all.

Looking to post tomorrow, by the way @13org.
