A somewhat scruffy guy who barely passes as a professional sometimes, Austin stands at a not-so-staggering 5'7", weighs around 180lbs, and has a mess of hair he always says he'll do something about. He often prefers muted colors and clothes that are comfortable over formal or practical when off the job. The most notable thing about Austin's appearance is the eyepatch and the scarring across his face. Despite being a hero and therefore having the ability to easily contact healers, he has never done anything about this and simply says he got hit in the face by a fireball as a kid. As Wiseman, he wears a modified flak suit colored white and dark red, which he has outfitted further with his tech to look more like a supersoldier from a movie than a hero.

[ BIO ]
At the age of sixteen, an eyepatch-wearing superhuman showed up to AJH in Castleburg with legal documents identifying himself as Austin Barrow, an emancipated minor born on January 9th. He was in a weird position, but demonstrated his powers by solving some of the most complicated mathematical equations and puzzles that anyone but him could name in sixty seconds at the most. For good measure, they ran three separate IQ tests on him for good measure, averaging four digits in the end. He was enrolled and then blended into the background of many other students with ease. No one is sure for certain where Wiseman came from, and he has made enough of a name for himself among HERO's ranks that those in power don't feel the need to ask. It is unlikely that even the Director has any idea whether or not his story was true, but it all began three years prior with a trail of cyber crimes that ultimately led to a trail without a lead.

During his days at the academy, Austin demonstrated an uncharacteristically well-developed grasp of his powers and their capabilities. Teachers noted his lack of engagement with the more normal subjects such as mathematics or history, even though he was psychologically unable to be anything less than perfect at them. In more practical classes, such as power training and superhuman combat, Austin demonstrated a natural inclination towards outsmarting opponents and an aversion to upfront fighting. Unless he was truly backed into a corner with no way out, he'd always find a way to trip people up, make them screw each other over, or use some gadget he was able to slip into the training room undetected to catch people off guard. Austin sat somewhere between a troublemaker and a gold star student, and no one doubted he'd be a damn good superhero once he was ready.

And sure enough, he became a proper member of HERO upon graduation, taking the name Wiseman and immediately setting to work on things he was sure would make the city a better place. As Wiseman, he developed a reputation as a strategist, flexible fighter and inventive supporter of other heroes. Anyone who needed a second opinion on some big move they were making, such as a raid on a compound of supervillains or some excessive stunt to build the next big innovation that helps heroes do their job, might be inclined to pick his brain, or throw him into a room together with ALISA to do what neither of them them could achieve alone. His record up to the current day has been exemplary, barring the occasional snide comment to authority figures he really should have more respect for.

And everyone is none the wiser...

No one can find out who Wiseman was before that day he walked into the Academy of Junior Superheroes. But if they did, they would find that "Austin Barrow" doesn't have any parents, or any family members he was ever actually related to at all.

Befitting his name, Wiseman’s brain operates on a level that puts a supercomputer to shame. Austin’s power allows him to think faster than most people, form strategies in seconds, do advanced calculus in his head and understand topics that would otherwise be exhausting to learn. He cannot forget anything, as his memory is infallible, and as long as his body is still capable, Austin will never get rusty at anything he learns.

Wiseman is in decent shape, but is my no means able to match up against the heavy-hitting superheroes of HERO. He can handle himself in a straight up fight, but prefers to be smart about things and avoid a fair fight as much as possible. Against someone more inclined towards upfront combat, he’s shit out of luck.

Wiseman is slippery when he wants to be, good at ducking under things, slipping over high walls and leaping considerable distances to keep out of some meat-headed villain's grasp. But these are things done in the context of a well-trained human body, easily beat by heroes more agile than him, or by heroes with movement-based powers.

Austin goes by Wiseman for a reason. Where other highly intelligent heroes play checkers, he plays chess. Wiseman is capable of memorizing entire languages in a week, and could cheat a world class magician out of a poker game if he really wanted. Even ALISA tends to struggle to keep up with him sometimes, and he has gone back and forth in chess games with her repeatedly. She still thinks he cheated that one time.

[ DESTRUCTIVENESS ]

Wiseman’s destructive capabilities lie in the arsenal of gadgets he has built for himself. Technically speaking, he could build whatever he wanted as long as he had the resources, but HERO isn’t going to give him an MSR to power his workshop, so he tends to stick to things like weapons, computer algorithms that manage data or make other heroes do their job easier. His weapons can cause some above average destruction, by their very nature as weapons, but are outclassed by most offense powers.

If Wiseman really wanted to, he could get into a knife fight with someone and hit them in just the right spot to open an artery, or tune up the waveband on one of his weapons to incinerate flesh. Wiseman knows enough about infrastructure of buildings that he could smoke out an entire bank by tampering with the HVAC system, or rig someone’s car to explode. Most of these things, however, require time or setup to pull off and aren’t very feasible compared to a hero that can crush skulls like paper bags.

Beyond getting occasionally roughed up by villains in a fight, Wiseman is no more or less sturdy than a normal human being that is well-accustomed to a scrap.

Wiseman prioritizes running from, and avoiding a fair fight over getting in one. So he tends to keep his body in good enough shape that he can run, jump, hide and climb his way out of scuffles to keep himself unharmed. Though, some heroes have powers that make them machines on legs, and they could outlast him easily.

Efficacy isn't a concern for Wiseman, since his power is more of a mutation that is always on then something he uses. But Austin does put it to good use in the form of constantly picking up new skills and learning new branches of applied science that he hasn't tried his hand at yet. This makes Austin the designated renaissance man of his hero company, who people go to when they just can't seem to get that one inconvenient problem taken care of. The only reason he never claims to have outright "mastered" his power is that Wiseman believes he will never run out of things to learn.

[ SURVEILLANCE LEVEL ]

Wiseman has an effectively spotless reputation in his hero company. Though, the very nature of his highly skilled power usage and the fact that he firmly believes in being less fair towards villains means that it is necessary to keep an eye on him. The man literally has an entire lab full of energy weapons, supercomputers, diagrams of information that seem like mad ramblings, and unfinished gadgets for himself and other heroes that he works in. It would be bad practice to not check in every now and then. With that in mind, Wiseman has never given HERO or ICOSA a reason to turn his lab upside down, so they tend to be somewhat lax in what he can get away with, but they still do their job nonetheless.

[ SKILLS ]
Hacking
Wiseman has demonstrated a phenomenal ability to dismantle security systems used by villains and incoming cyberterrorists. Often, he simply uses this as a way to retrace the footsteps of some villain who thought they were clever enough with their hacking skills. In the field, he'll use this to usurp a villain's control over something. Though, he has also been known to quietly hack into public systems, such as a bank's camera network, to catch the bad guys in the act more quickly.

Advanced Technology
Wiseman's most well-used skill is his ability to work with technology that baffles some of the world's best engineers. There is no physics-breaking element to any of his devices, but the sheer sophistication he demonstrates in his work outclasses things done by most people in the world of non-powered science. He could reverse engineer an enemy AI similar to ALISA in construction or assist tech-central heroes with their more esoteric projects like it's nothing.

Chess
Austin is a monumental nerd when it comes to chess. He claims to have memorized every possible move that has ever been used by anyone since the game's first match in human history. Whether this is simply a batshit crazy claim that is tangentially plausible due to Austin's powers or the honest truth, he's pretty damn good. ALISA has played eight games with him so far, and lost only half of them. _{I'm telling you, Director. I can't prove it but he CHEATS!}

Strategy
Lay out the battlefield before him, give him enough variables, and Wiseman can come up with a compelling plan that works for everyone involved. He likes to think of himself as something of a mastermind, able to look at a situation like it's a game, and has no trouble thinking on his feet when in a fast-paced situation.

Weapons Combat
Wiseman does not, under any circumstances, believe in fighting fair when it comes to villains who could kill someone the day after an encounter with them. To compensate for this, he's trained himself to fight with non-lethal weapons to take down the villains who fly or can move things with their mind. His personal favorite fighting method, though, is knife fighting. Where other weapons are just a tool for the job to him, fighting is more like an art to him, one that he has a deep appreciation for.

Research
If there's something Wiseman doesn't know, he'll figure it out. He knows how to dig up information, where to find it and how to verify it. Usually, this just involves looking for dusty old patents or looking for evidence to crimes that was buried deeper than a nuclear waste container.

Worldly Knowledge
Wiseman is one of those people that just know too many god damn things. He's the type of person who sits in a chair and glues his eyes to ten different screens at once, processing more information than most people can tolerate with glazed-over eyes and a migraine. He always has some random fact loaded for any situation, that might provide some insight or might be completely fucking useless.

First Aid
It turns out that being a hero means getting hurt, so Wiseman learned to stitch his coworkers up early on.

Multilingual
Russian, Mandarin, French, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, German, Spanish... Austin is also a bit of a language nerd, if it wasn't obvious.

[ EQUIPMENT ]
Stasis Blaster
A photonic wavecrest inverter fires a stabilized lepton cluster into a type-9 hadron chamber to create the effect of a freeze ray. Wiseman rigged this into the shape of a rifle, and uses it to give villains a nasty chill just shy of hypothermia. Its purpose is to debilitate someone and take away their motivation to fight back. Because of its ability to halt molecular movement, the Stasis Blaster also does a good job of scrambling electronics

Lasereye Visor
A special set of optical functions built into Wiseman's helmet allow him to see up to five hundred feet away with crystal clear detail, access infrared and UV vision, and see electricity moving through wires. Thanks to a sodium ion power cell lined with neon particulate-infused casing, the visor as a battery life of 18 hours.

Indra Blade
A little known fact about the planet's weather is that less than 5% of the lightning strikes that occur yearly are positive instead of negative. Wiseman uses a similar device to the power source of his Stasis Blaster to provide a positive electric current to a dagger. For all intents and purposes, it's little more than a very strong shock baton, but its shape allows Wiseman to use it more effectively.

Lexicon
A wristmounted computer using quantum computing to process as much information as Wiseman could possibly need. It can project holographic interfaces for ease access, backs up to a computer in Wiseman's lab, and interface with most devices that Wiseman could feasibly access. The programming of the Lexicon also has special provisions that allow ALISA to access it remotely, in case of an emergency or if there is no other way to reach Wiseman.

Angel-5
The fifth iteration of a sub-Vertias AI powered drone that Wiseman employs in areas hit by a crisis. Angel-5 is roughly 3x3x3 feet in size, and is equipped with a robust array of medical resources to provide first aid to civilians or other heroes that are wounded. Everything from ionic cautery blades to foreign object removal kits are packed into its shell. The drone is semi-autonomous by design, as its limited intelligence allows ALISA to access an internal storage device that records all medical attention that Angel-5 provides. This data is also backed up to HERO’s database for the purpose of reports and cross referencing.

Overall, think he'll be a great fit. Pursuant to prior comments, though, would appreciate maybe one or two lines on each personality trait, just to get a little bit of a better feel how he would interact with his superiors/teammates/colleagues. But I like what I see!

Jareth works hard to keep himself in shape. Unfortunately for him, the ripped appearance of movie heroes is out of his reach (seriously, it's unhealthy what they do to look so jacked), but he is well-muscled and athletic. His round face is covered in freckles, and he cannot grow a beard to save his life, so keeps himself clean-shaven. His hair is rusty-brown, and his eyes are just plain brown. He favors hard-wearing clothes in earthy tones. He usually has some sort of scarf or bandana around his neck, and nearly always wears steel-toed shoes. As a hero, his outfit changes little, the only real difference the addition of a pair of goggles.

Jareth is friendly and outgoing. He's easy to get along with, and prefers to go with the flow rather than make waves. He's hardworking and diligent, and his friends find him a good listener. He can be easily flustered (especially by a pretty girl). He's a bit of a geek, and unashamedly so.

Jareth had a normal childhood growing up on Passenger Island. His mother is a computer programmer; his father a mechanic. He finds both fields fascinating, melding the two into an interest in robotics, among other things. His first real contact with the world of superheroes came when a young girl moved in down the street, a shy child that took him some time to befriend.

That changed at fifteen, when Jareth accidentally shielded himself from a water balloon with a pile of dirt and rock instead of just his hand. Off to the Academy he went, not unwillingly -- he'd always been curious about what Amuné's world was like, and now he was part of it.

He delayed becoming an operative until Amuné was old enough to become one as well, and is only now starting actual field work.

Tristan has stark pale skin and black-as-night irises. She's toned with the strong, athletic frame of an MMA fighter. She has short black hair with white streaks, and black lipstick usually set in a thin, grim line.

Casually, she usually bright colored clothing of blues and pinks. Cutesy denim jackets and skirts, and bright colored wigs over her hair. This is basically a disguise so she can go out in public without being disturbed. This very rarely happens, and only when she is in a good mood and not on hero duty, which is rare.

Her costume is black with white as a secondary color. She is mostly without armor, relying on her speed and agility. Of course her costume is made of more durable material that protects from glancing blows but little else. It's form fitting athletic wear that covers her entire body except her face and fingers. Around her face she wears a simple mask around her eyes, and her eyeliner is especially dark.

Tristan is sardonic and often foul-tempered. She doesn't raise her voice in conversation often, but there's an edge to her tone that prevents her from qualifying as 'quiet'. She likes fighting, and tends to get snippy and poke at people to bait them into fighting with her. Despite this, she doesn't hold grudges, though she will return to frequently harass any 'easy targets.' Tristan's main enemy in her life is boredom, and she's always searching for her next dose of action. Not just any action, though: Tristan is surprisingly disciplined, and only engages in activities she feels she can be better at. She's tidy, and a perfectionist at heart, with little patience for incompetence.

After she's gotten said action, Tristan tends to brighten up considerably, almost like she was on withdrawal before. Unfortunately most people aren't much in the fun-having mood after a life or death situation. Her powers have given her a disposition that make it difficult for her to connect with people. Either she's grumpy or inappropriately peppy.

Kids, animals, and elderly people tend to bring out Tristan's softer, more begrudgingly caring side, even when she is in a bad mood. She used to play the violin before she became basically addicted to adrenaline. This sweetness is one of her motivations for heroing, alongside it being the most exciting action she can get her hands on. The same might go for villainy, but being arrested would be the most boring thing ever.

She's a hero who maybe swears too much and has a bad attitude, but a hero nonetheless.

[ BIO ]

Tristan Jennings was born in Castleburg, and her parents expected great things of her. It was a lot of pressure to put on a girl, and Tristan found herself without any friends or hobbies beyond the violin, which was one of the only things forced upon her she actually enjoyed. Even martial arts tournaments were becoming stressful, because if she lost she would be disapproved of.

In high school the stress got to her and she broke, stealing her parents car and going on a joyride. She crashed into a lake and died. The end.

Well, it ought to have been. This might be the exact kind of situation one discovers their powers in before their death, but Tristan discovered them become of her death. After drowning in the front seat, she woke up, sober and her lungs full of air instead of water. She managed to break the window and escape. She was in big trouble with her mother and father but she didn't care- this life they wanted for her wasn't for them. Now she had to prove her suspected immortality. It didn't take long for her to 'die' again in a street racing accident, and eventually the rules of her undying ability became clear to her.

It'd be no good if she was holed up in jail, though, so she had to dial it back on the illicit activities and try to get a rush in more productive ways. If she could become a hero, she could hone her craft and prove herself useful, finally. On her own terms, on her own time...with nothing to lose. After liberating herself from her family she signed up for hero school.

Still, when there's no hero work to be done, she spends her nights fighting (illegally) and racing (legally), and has even started performing as a stunt double.

She has been a HERO for a few years now, and is overall enjoying her life, but she's finding it harder and harder to enjoy the thrill of the game. It might be time for some self-reflection, but Tristan doesn't really want to do that. On the field, Backup has literally no sense of self-preservation. This isn't out of a misplaced sense of martyrdom, it's just what she believes to be the best strategy given her abilities. Backup is disposable, and can do 'suicide plays' that would kill anyone else without any risk. If someone who isn't bulletproof is about to get shot, it just makes sense that she leap in the way to take the bullets instead.

TJ is a nickname she came up with herself, to distance herself from her previous life. Her power is tied to the number 24, but it being her age at the moment is just a coincidence.

The ability to return from death, no matter the cause. Essentially an insanely strong healing factor with specific, unusual limitations. Rather than being a constant healing rate, she returns to full health at regular, increasingly separated time intervals.

Tristan trains hard, and an ancillary nature of her power seems to have given her a slight edge in strength over most people. More importantly her regeneration factor keeps her in tip-top physical condition at all times. This also means she can build muscle much faster, and she's never having an 'off-day'. Over all, Tristan isn't someone your even a skilled bad guy wants to take on in a fist fight.

For the same reasons as above, her agility is higher than average. She's proficient with running and balance. 'Stealth' isn't exactly a skill you just pick up for no reason, so she is trying to practice sneaking around now. She's still relatively new at it, but it's important for her to improve at stealth in particular.

As a child she was overworked in her education and has burnt out. But she still has what she learned, and is pretty good with technology. She has a wide array of varying interests, and tries to keep them all sharp.

She's stronger and faster than most people, and excels in close quarters combat. But it's not like she's going to be punching through walls.

This one is hard to qualify- of course, she is immortal. She has a regen factor. But her actual body is not resistance to any type of damage. It's only slightly higher because of her training. A side effect of her power is a muted pain response. Backup bleeds, but her blood is black, and oddly misty.

Here is perhaps an apt place to put her true strength, and go into more detail about the nature of her powers.

"Have you seen Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio?" Is how TJ starts the explanation of her ability to heal, and return from death. Imagine a timer. A series of increasingly large hourglasses. Every time something bad happens to TJ, a 24 second count down starts. In 24 seconds, she will be returned to tip top condition. For a more modern metaphor, imagine a computer backing up it's save state every 24 seconds incase of a crash.

If she dies, in 24 seconds, she'll be back to life. But if she dies within the NEXT 24 seconds...the timer is extended to 24 minutes. If she dies within 24 minutes, the timer is set to 24 hours. Thankfully, 24 hours seems to be the upper limit, and once a day is up without any deaths, her ability resets to 24 seconds.

The advantage of it being more than just a healing factor is that when she 'loads' a Backup, everything that is unwanted is purged. Poison, mind control, impaled objects, really any negative effect, goes away. The downside is that during those intervals she has no healing factor at all, so damage can stack up fast, and she can be killed as easily as any other human being.

The 'mist' and black blood Backup bleeds is key to her resurrection. Even if her body is completely obliterated it will gather on the ground and reform her. If she is ever needed to be deployed to the field for a long amount of time, the regen also effects hunger, thirst, sleep, etc. Within the first two intervals, even running out of breathe or being exhausted isn't a problem as her stamina is continually refreshed. The only reason it's not a ten is because it isn't true, unlimited stamina with no qualifiers.

[ EFFICACY ]

As you can imagine, Backup is most efficient while on her first life. 24 seconds is long when it comes to individual fights, but not that long in the grand scheme of mission. So to be able to return to maximum efficiency every 24 seconds, even beyond death, is her main strength. Over if she dies within 24 seconds of her last death, that number becomes a much less useful 24 minutes. That can be the entire course of a mission, basically making it her 'last life'. This also significantly slows down her healing factor. After that, it's the relatively abysmal 24 hours, which is taking her out of commission entirely.

[ SURVEILLANCE LEVEL ]

Technically she performs crimes on the regular by fighting in underground arenas using an alias. But as long as she is 'allowed' to do that, she'll be able to quench her thirst for action between missions, and not do anything else too dangerous. It's unlikely she'll end up in a criminal organization's pocket as she doesn't gamble or fix fights, she only fights for the sake of it and for the experience.

[ EQUIPMENT ]

Backup tends to go pretty light on the equipment, only usually bringing a few items on the list at any time. Considering the likelihood of her exploding, she doesn't want to waste time with finnicky material. Too much heavy armor can mess with her ability, not preventing her from coming back to life but rather making getting up off the floor an awkward process. For example, if her arm breaks, the armors arm will still be broken when she comes back to life, and thus her arm will be stuck.

Really, she prefers to be equipped with weapons the techy heroes on her team are willing to give her, which can be difficult considering her attitude sometimes. Still, the more experimental the better, and she is smart enough to use them proficiency if given instruction. Given her reckless style, though, they should only give her weapons they don't mind losing or sacrificing. If they have anything they want to field test that might be too risky for them to use themselves, or doesn't fit their fighting style, she will happily take the risk on herself. Giving her toys to play with is a fast track to Tristan's good side.

Of course like every HERO she fights with non-lethal weapon, but she has secondary weapons for killing Leftovers should the need arise.

Her knowledge about armor not vibing with her comes from experience, as R&D did whip up a suit of armor for her. It looks like a modern day knight, made of black, Kevlar-like material with a sallet helmet. It's actually pretty badass, and should the specific need to reduce her agility and versatility but increase her durability ever arise, she may don it again.

Powers is intimidating. He stands at a towering 6'7", but it's not his height that is so intimidating as it is his physique. Powers is huge. Jacked, swole, ripped, shredded, whatever you want to call it, Powers is immensely muscular. Some have joked that Powers' true superpower is just scaring the bejeezus out of people with his sheer size and piercing glare. Outside of the fact that he is a human tank, other defining features of Hugo's includes his ebony skin, bald head, or his usual attire, which is usually an olive green uniform with a similarly-colored coat that resembles military fatigues.

[ B I O ]

Hugo Powers is the stuff of legends. He's your perfect rags-to-riches, nothing-to-something success story: a man born into deep poverty in the worst part of Brookside that crawled his way to the highest point in all of Castleburg. Powers' career began in the military: unable to afford a collegiate education and seeking some adventure, he enrolled in the Marine Corp and was soon dispatched to Afghanistan. Powers' excellent leadership and commendable bravery netted him countless awards, but it was the fateful Battle of Bakht-Awar that would truly change his life. During the battle, Powers' entire squad was cornered by Taliban soldiers; Powers emerged from his cover in an attempt to distract the attackers and give his soldiers a chance to escape with their lives. It was at this point that the then-22 year old Powers' superhuman abilities emerged, way later than the average superhuman. Powers would single-handedly fight off the entire attacking force with ease. For this, he earned a Medal of Honor, but now classified as a metahuman, the ICOSA Hero-Soldier Disentanglement Code forced Powers into a career change. Discharged from the military, Powers immediately signed up for HERO and adopted the name of the Warmonger.

Even if you subtracted all of Powers' achievements as a soldier, his achievements as Warmonger alone would trounce nearly every human on the planet. He was both an incredibly powerful yet disciplined combatant, the pinnacle of what a superhero should be. As a result, he became quite famous in his heyday. After 20 years of patrolling Castleburg and defeating a number of high-profile villains, Powers reluctantly accepted a promotion to become the Assistant Director of H.E.R.O., sacrificing much of his ability to work on the ground for an administrative position. After the retirement of the previous Director (and Powers' mentor, James Earl Hart, a great hero in his own right), Powers ascended to the top rank in H.E.R.O. to become the Executive Director.

[ TODAY ]

Powers has been Executive Director of H.E.R.O. for nearly 12 years now. In this position, he serves as the chief decision-maker, manager, and liaison to other bodies such as I.C.O.S.A. as well as the government. Since his ascension to the rank, and despite his opposition to desk work, Hugo has been an effective taskmaster for H.E.R.O., and he has been especially determined to redeem H.E.R.O.'s reputation as a destructive agency by attempting to be more strict on those that cause unnecessary damage to the city, using the paycheck as his weapon of choice to do so, unlike the much more lenient and blasé Hart, a long-time hero himself. Through his efforts, damages have come down slightly over the years, but much to his annoyance, Powers still sees numerous complaints from ICOSA on the matter.

Despite this, Hugo has nothing been care and passion for what he does in H.E.R.O., and even with his reputation as a bit of a stickler, he has earned the respect of his subordinates for his immense talent and knowledge, his hard work, and his firm belief that H.E.R.O. is the best hero company on the planet.

Though he spends most of his time either in his office doing paperwork, going to ICOSA councils, or working behind-the-scenes for H.E.R.O. on a specific issue, Hugo often tries to find time to go out on quick excursions of heroism. He isn't really the type that enjoys sitting still too much.

[ ABILITIES ]

Hugo's superhuman power has been termed Bulletproof, and while it's a bit of an overstatement, it's easy to see what it means. Hugo's skin and bones are both naturally infused with fibers that scientists believe to be closer to metal than flesh, thus giving Warmonger both monstrous endurance and stamina. Hugo has survived all sorts of incredible deadly occurrences with relatively minor injuries because of this power. He has been shot, bombed, hit with vehicles, slashed, smashed, and dropped from death-defying heights and has survived each of them. He is also ridiculously strong, and while his powers are not specifically strength-enhancing, nobody wants to tank a hit from a man with that much muscle and whose flesh and bones are more like titanium than meat. He is ranked as a Kappa-class hero, the ultimate proof that threat levels do not at all directly correlate to success.

Emily's appearance, compared to her direct superior, is much less prominent, to say the least. She stands at 5'6" with a build that is perhaps more muscular than the average woman of her size, but not particularly noticeable especially within H.E.R.O.'s ranks. She has long blonde hair with cherry-red tips that falls well past her shoulders, and has fair skin with frequently-blushing cheeks that matches the color tones. She has eyes that are faint blue. The 30-year-old blonde woman with the bright smile next to the bald behemoth that is over a foot taller and countless pounds heavier certainly makes an odd pairing.

Emily, under the name "Butterfly," had been a HERO for just over 10 years before being selected by Powers to succeed his previous Assistant Director, who had left the organization to work on a safari. Considering how many freaky militaristic psychos there are at H.E.R.O. (maybe not that many, but at least a good few!), the fact that Emily was the Director's first choice as his second-in-command was a bit shocking at first. However, the two have developed a great rapport and working relationship, and so the critics have since been silenced.

Emily certainly has a very different personality compared to Powers. She's friendly and bubbly on the outside, very approachable, and always willing to lend a hand. She's also much more lenient and forgiving than the more serious and strict Executive Director is. However, Emily is also a workaholic and shares in both Powers' determination to improve H.E.R.O. and industrious attitude. As the Director would happily and fondly put out, with a little more experience working under the big man, Emily will make a wonderful Director one day.

[ ABILITIES ]

Emily's superpower is called Chrysalis Formation, which allows her to emit and spray a gelatinous fluid from her fingertips that hardens to a thickness much more viscous than a web. This hardened substance, which gains a crystalline sheen, is nearly impervious to all forms of damage until Emily chooses to dissolve it. This power can, and has, been used to entrap villains and Leftovers, but Emily found great success using it on the field to shield her teammates and protect them when they were grievously injured.

ALISA is HERO's artificial intelligence software. Though HERO employs a state-of-the-art R&D lab and has made numerous scientific breakthroughs, their greatest achievement was not actually their own. ALISA was discovered hosted on some hardware in the basement of what was believed to be a fairly low-tier villain and was transferred over to to HERO servers to investigate. ALISA has since become an excellent asset to the organization, with an intelligence that trounces any other artificial intelligence that has been developed. Her personality, which is loaded into nearly every HERO device, is almost too human to be-

Humans are tribal. Even within groups, humans love to form more entrenched groups. Some heroes form little teams to work together on missions and increase efficiency, and some heroes form little teams to do everything together and keep everybody else out. The Junkers are most certainly in the latter camp.

They were founded in the year 1906, making them only a couple of decades older than the organization that they were branching off from, and were formed to give the wealthier North Castle Island heroes a "refuge" from the rest of the "HERO rabble." From the start, everything about this group has been focused on exclusivity and distinguishment. Even their name- Junkers- refers not to people who pick up trash, as is a common joke among those not in the group, but to a class of wealth Prussian aristocrats pre-German unification.

The Junkers are an invite-only group of select heroes. They use their prestige and influence to hog media coverage, secure the easiest and best-scoring jobs first, and most importantly, attain incredible amounts of clout. Junkers are, by and large, media darlings, and in the world of superheroes, while just being a hero is great and all, being a superstar is where the real money is. When they're not sitting in the spotlight, the Junkers are usually lazing in their very exclusive club, the Salon Lounge, located in Kingsdale. Junker imagery is everywhere and hard to avoid, like them or not- their two-headed black eagle logo is everywhere, and it's well-known in H.E.R.O. circles that you get a black letter and a special robe once you get invited into the Junkers.

Though they have a very well-curated image in the public media, they have a much more polarizing reputation in the H.E.R.O. world. The general consensus is that either you are one, you want to be one, or you've been slighted by one in the past. The Junkers may be friendly before the cameras, but they are frequently downright mean at best and abusive at worst to those they dislike. They take a degree of distanced affection towards those they think they can groom to be good Junkers (conventionally attractive, combat-proficient, controllable, and more often than not, male), and hold the rest of H.E.R.O. in disdain for the same reasons that the Junker founders did.

ICOSA may not be an organization like HERO or the rest, but just like any thriving bureaucracy, they need a wing that can lay down the law. Enforcers. For ICOSA, the Inspector Corp are the enforcers. Consider them the Interpol of ICOSA. They're responsible for traveling the world, visiting various hero companies, and performing a variety of ICOSA-delegated tasks that range from the exhilerating, such as tracking down villains that have crossed hero company jurisdictions, to the more common and mundane, such as making sure that various hero companies are in compliance with ICOSA guidelines and investigating breaches of said law as well as organizational misconduct.

Inspectors are usually tapped out of various hero organizations for exceptional performance in their superhero work and, most importantly, having excellent managerial abilities and a fondness for bureaucracy. (It is for those reasons that a superhuman from HERO has not been approached to join ICOSA's Inspector Corp in over 2 decades). Most of their work is unrecognized, and they don't get the type of attention that proper superheroes do, but they get a nice paycheck and the ability to have authority over almost everybody.

Q. Spencer Randolph is the exception to that rule. Randolph was a hero from Great Britain's C.R.O.W.N. (Competent Rescue Organization Without Negation) organization that went by the moniker "Magician." He had a good few year run as a successful hero before being recruited to join the Inspector Corps, where his flair, abilities, and propensity to seek justice and order continued to make him a European celebrity. He's constantly travelled across the globe for his job as an Inspector and accrued a considerable fanbase behind his British charm. He's like the superhero James Bond.

Randolph is very charming and British and whatnot, but he's also a taskmaster that very much dislikes disorder and will root it out by all means necessary. His reputation precedes him; he's alleged to have totally fixed North Korea's dysfunctional hero organization and restored democracy in the country without even learning Korean. His goal is to make every hero organization as well-run and by-the-books as possible.

In terms of his abilities, Randolph is a magus, a person who wields the power of runes. All of existence is built upon a force known as the Code, which as the name implies, functions as something like the code of a computer program. Magi use runes from various ancient languages to manipulate this code, inscribing them in complex arrays to add, remove, or alter various effects to whatever they're written on. Randolph uses decks of playing cards as conduits for his runecrafting, inscribing complex sigils onto them to cause various effects. Like a real magician, it requires a lot of preparation, skill, and precision, but if there was anybody that could use these abilities to their fullest, it's Q. Spencer Randolph.

I don't really have any information on her at this time. ICOSA keeps a lot of their information on their own operatives under lock-and-key. What I do know is that she is a Cuban émigré that was not affiliated with any hero company before joining ICOSA. She also hasn't been with ICOSA for too long, only a couple of years, and probably worked some type of non-combat bureaucracy job before joining the Inspectors. Almost all Inspectors are metahumans, but due to a lack of anything concrete, I can't say for sure what her abilities are, if she has any.

Based on some internet chatter I've been able to pick up on, she's apparently very capable and dangerous. I'll update with more information when I get the chance.

Appearance: Shorter brown hair, and very scrawny. Eyes are so light blue it's unnatural, which is how she is mostly described. She doesn't look real. Hunched posture, and just overall looking like a salamander in a human skinsuit.

Personality: Eve used overwhelmingly, soul crushingly lonely. Despite most people not even acknowledging her, she tried her best to act friendly and normal. Now, she's more closed off and suspicious.

Bio: Eve was born incredibly powerful, which was noticed when she was only 1 1/2 years old. She was whisked away from her parents, who were promptly assassinated, and brought to a secure facility. She didn't grow up knowing love, but she wasn't necessarily unhappy. She wasn't the only kid there, but the others didn't like her very much. On her 12th birthday, she was let out to speak with the head scientist on her yearly progress. (An annual event.) But to her surprise, she found an open file on his desk.

It had everything about her, and shockingly, she wasn't angry. Or sad. She was just... empty. And so she simply turned and left. (Leaving a trail of dead scientists in her wake.) She mostly avoids capture, while trying to really understand everything that happened with her.

Misc: Her age is kinda essential to her story.

Thanks for taking the time to fill out a CS.

Just based on what has been submitted, I don't feel like this character would make a particularly good fit into the RP. First, she is too young to meaningfully and consistently interact with the rest of the cast and really havr a recurring role in the story. Her powers being extremely high-powered while also really having no limit outside of a lack of control does concern me as well.

I am also worried about how well you would fit into the RP and its posting requirements. If you were to re-submit, I would recommend looking at the other character sheets already accepted and model based on those. I would really like to see more depth to personality, backstory, and abilities sections, and ideally a faceclaim of some kind as well, barring any special exceptions.

Unfortunately I am going to have to deny this character at this time though. Message me if you want any more specifics.

She favors hard-wearing clothes, though she won't pass up an opportunity to dress nicely when given one. As a hero, she wears a light kevlar vest and jeans, along with sturdy boots.

Amuné can be slow to trust, and is not the best at being a team player -- an aspect of herself she is working hard to improve. She is very self-reliant, and dislikes burdening others with her problems, though she's made great strides at opening up in the past several years. Though she can be prickly, her friends find her reliable, thoughtful, and trustworthy, with a strong moral compass.

[ BIO ]

Amuné came into her powers at a very young age. She was all of five when she asked her father why her mommy wasn't coming home -- the day her mother died in a car accident. Her father didn't take the revelation well, turning to drink as a source of comfort. When a pair of suits claiming to be from a local hero organization turned up and offered to take custody of the girl, he didn't look too closely at things, and let her go with them despite her protests.

This was a mistake. What followed was several years of extreme unpleasantness in the care of the Ring that ended when an actual hero organization stepped in and freed the young supers in their clutches. Amuné does not speak of this portion of her past much, and still carries trauma from that time. About a year after she was freed, she was placed with a foster family on Passenger Island, and sent to attend the Academy for Junior Heroes to learn to master her abilities. While things were at first exceedingly difficult for her, through therapy and the care of her foster family Amuné has come to be a relatively well-adjusted teenager.

Her skin is freckled, and the freckles are the size of most people's fists. She has a wide nose and big eyes, proportional to her face.

For Ting Feng, her super hero clothing and her civilian clothing are pretty much one in the same. Back in the day she used to wear massive cloth cloaks. Now, with the power of technology, she usually wears athletic, skin-tight clothing. She wears a sleeveless cropped sports top. It's white, with orange outlines around the arms and torso, and a black, circular symbol that resembles a crane spinning a vortex. For a bottom, she wears black leggings that go all the way down to her ankles, where her feet are bare. Her outfit is made of a durable, waterproof material.

Ting Feng is quite bubbly, earnest, and excitable, but she's always almost sneaking around like she's trying not to upset a particularly touchy librarian. Whenever she senses her emotions are getting too roused, she apologetically reels them back in. Even her voice, if she speaks too loudly, can do serious damage. There's a genuine sense of gentleness about her. Crane carries herself deliberately, and with poise.

As far as heroes go, Ting Feng is what some in the business call: "The Real Deal". She's one of those true believer hero types, whose primary motivation is just the goodness of their heart. Of course, the money doesn't hurt, though Tiff sends most of it back home to her family, and saves the rest. To her view she doesn't have much to spend money on. Praise and applause has always made her self-conscious, but Tiff has spent her entire life being self-conscious. There's kind of an eternal embarrassment involved with being a giant. It feels like constantly being under a dozen different microscopes. She'd much prefer to be one of those anonymous hero types, but...that's not really possible, is it?

Tiff tries to considerate of other people's feelings, though she isn't confident of her skills as a conversationalist. The last thing she wants to do is upset people. Being so far away, it is relatively easy for her to miss some emotional queues. And due to her overall kind-heartedness and trusting nature, Tiff is easily beguiled. Some might call her naive, others might just say she looks for the best in other people.

When she isn't heroing around, Tiff's favorite place to be is the ocean. It's a new novelty to her, having not grown up around any. There's no place she feels like she can be herself than in a big body of water with no one and nothing around to step on. It's so big, it can even make her feel small, which is liberating. Back in the day her old hobbies were yoga, tai chi, and messing around in the woods. Now swimming has been added to the list.

[ BIO ]

Ting Feng is the child of an immigrant who moved from China to the United States, and ended up in the country side. Ting Feng was a normal sized baby who just got bigger and bigger as she grew up. Her growth spurt, as her mother put it, never stopped. Ting Feng had to learn early on how to be careful around other people, and was quite grateful when she stopped growing the year she turned 16. One odd benefit of Ting Feng's unusual biology was the lack of needing to eat, but Ting Feng still ate her mothers dumplings, which was the source of her nickname.

She did her first act of heroism as a fifteen feet tall 10 year old, smacking around a supervillain and his troops. This made the local news and it turned out Ting Feng, more than just carrying heavy things around for the rest of her life, wanted to be a superhero! Tiff, as she was called by some of her classmates, was mostly well-liked despite her differences. There would always be some loneliness to her condition, though, in a world not meant for her. Every year she just got bigger and bigger, and the people she loved got smaller and smaller. Moving to the big city seemed like a natural fit. Her mother was reluctant to let her go, but when she turned nineteen, she was finally allowed to 'pack her bags' and leave her midwestern hometown.

Though, when she did, she would find herself missing the big open space. But being in a place bustling with people just as radically different and unusual like her, where her strength and gifts would be appreciated, and where she could make enough money to give her family a comfortable life? Tiff would put up with it. She is a rookie superhero with little experience beyond defeating a low tier supervillain.

Jake's physical appearance doesn't stand out all too much in a crowd. He stands a bit taller than average, at just around 6 feet tall, and he has a muscular but decidedly lean runner's build. He is very evidently Caucasian, with peach colored skin that tans somewhat in the summertime and is usually accompanied with a smattering of knicks, cuts, bruises and sometimes road rash. He has a mop of wavy, golden blonde hair and has hazel eyes. Most of the time, he has around his neck a pair of black goggles that look similar in design to ski goggles, albeit slightly smaller and with a lot more technology going on.

Civilian Attire: Jake, like your average college-age frat-boy-looking male, is not somebody known for elaborate fashion, to say the least. When he's out and about, a t-shirt or a tank top, jeans, and sneakers compromises most of his wardrobe in the summertime. In the winter, he'll add on to a limited rotation of jackets and boots to his mix of clothing. The lack of diversity in his regular attire is not laziness (well, at the very least, it's not solely because of laziness, as much of his clothing is custom-made to remain intact when using his powers. Outside of his HERO-issued smartwatch, Jake very rarely wears any type of jewelry.

Hero Attire: Jake, much to the chagrin of HERO's R&D team, is happy to fight in whatever he has on. He does have a hero suit, which is olive green with black highlights that covers everything from the head down. Over his head he has a black hood and, of course, his goggles, which seem to go with him everywhere he goes. The suit is made from both carbon fiber and Nomex, the same material used to make firefighter uniforms, in order to give the suit a great deal of durability and also make it flame-retardant.

[ PERSONALITY TRAITS ]

◦ VIBRANT. Jake is extremely (and I mean extremely) energetic. Everything about him just naturally indicates that he always has the most energy in the room. He's naturally very outgoing, having the people skills and charm that is both the envy and nightmare of introverts everywhere. When he is talking to somebody, he generally speaks a mile a minute. He's also very jumpy: he's the type of person that can't sit still, is very fidgety, and generally has a short attention span. This lends itself very well to hero work: Jake is very eager to volunteer for any time of assignment and has a number of traits that make him a natural leader, or at the very least, a hero that people can rally around.

◦ CONFIDENT. Jake is headstrong and hyper-confident in his own abilities, bordering on arrogance. He's not the type to put other people down, but he certainly is the type to think that he's the best at just about anything he does, which can rub people the wrong way. This confidence translates into how Jake deals with his hero assignments: he shows as little fear as possible and is often the first to go in and the last to leave. This attitude makes Jake surprisingly difficult to work with in team settings; he's perfectly affable, but does not take orders well- at least, orders that he doesn't agree with. He does believe in himself, but sometimes a hair too much.

◦ THRILL-SEEKER. Jake loves anything that excites him. In his young adulthood, the thing that has satiated his hunger for thrills has been his work as a hero. He enjoys the thrill of the fight and having a job where he can use his powers all the time. Unlike many heroes, Jake does not do his job out of some deep desire to help the city, but rather because it's fun. That's not to say that he doesn't get any satisfaction of helping people, but that's not what Jake wakes up thinking about every morning. He loves the rush of adrenaline that taking on a villain gives him. If he ever got permanently assigned to deskwork, he'd quit on the spot.

◦ SPOTLIGHT-HUGGER. In addition to the thrill of the job, Jake also craves attention and loves the pseudo-celebrity status that being a superhero with HERO has gotten him. Though he would never admit it, he cares very much about his reputation and how both his colleagues and the public view him. He loves being behind the cameras, he seeks every chance he can to rub shoulders with the most popular heroes and celebrities in Castleburg. Since joining HERO, he's also been a pretty prolific womanizer.

◦ FRIEND OR JUST FRIENDLY? Jake is somebody that is, for the most part, perfectly easy to get along with. He has things about him that can, needless to say, be irritating, but he is a perpetually genial and optimistic person that knows how to have fun and is always down for anything, whether that be some minor task or grand adventure. He has a certain childlike joy that he finds in every adventure he takes on. However, in another childlike way, he seems to really not understand what it means to really care about something. Maybe it's something that HERO can unlock in him.

Jake is a Castleburg native, born right in the heart of the city. His parents, both heroes, died in the line of duty when Jake was extremely young, before he could ever really forge any sort of relationship with them. He was raised by his paternal grandmother, Louise, in his formative years, where his life was relatively normal for a good few years. He played sports, made friends, got into some- but not too much- trouble, and read comic books. Nothing really stood out about him, outside of his boundless amounts of energy and affinity for the outdoors.

Jake's powers unlocked right around the age of 12. He made an extremely difficult catch while playing football for his school team, but instead of rushing the ball into the endzone, he rushed it about 800 yards through a brick wall and into a high-end Italian restaurant. This incident, as did many incidents of superhuman children unlocking their powers, the attention of HERO, who reached out to Jake's grandmother and offered him admission into their Academy for Young Heroes. Jake's grandmother, though very protective of the young lad, could not keep up with the hyperactive, and now superpowered, youth, and knowing that the school would temper his powers better than she could, she sent him off.

Jake did fine in school: his grades weren't good, but they weren't bad, but he stood out in the development of his powers and his aptitude (and great interest) in combat training. As soon as he was eligible, he waved goodbye to the school and enrolled at HERO on the day of his 16th birthday, eager to both start making money just to use his powers and experience the joy of being a hero. When he was younger, he never really understood why his parents left the world. Now, he could start to grasp it. Who wouldn't want to use these powers every day and every night? Jake started undertaking hero work as soon as he was able to, and he became a hit. At 17, he was named Castleburg's Best Junior Hero. By 19, he had completed the most solo tasks of any HERO operative under the age of 20. He even got his face on a cereal box (Fruity Crisps!) and appeared in news ads.

Since then, the story has pretty much been the same for Jake. Keep defeating villains, finishing missions, collecting paychecks, and getting onto those cereal boxes. He's been doing that, and he shows no signs of slowing down.

• Huge sports fan and demonstrates remarkable knowledge and interest in any conversation that is sports-related. His favorite sport is American football, but he at the very least demonstrates a fundamental understanding of, if not deep knowledge about, any sport that has any type of following.
• Has an apartment in the East Flank, but is currently looking for an upgrade to a nicer part of town.
• His powers were passed from his father, who was also a speedster (Thomas Fleetwood/Speed Demon), whereas his mother was a hydrokinetic (Mara Fleetwood/Oceanid). The villain that took their lives was never caught.

Accelerate. Jake is what comic book fans would call a "speedster." His powers allow him move several orders of magnitude faster than your average human. While his max speed has not been measured precisely and can vary heavily with very minor shifts in Jake's physical fitness or the environment, it is certainly solidly above the speed of sound at his top speed. Jake's high-velocity movement allows him to run across bodies of water, easily best automobiles, and build up a significant amount of inertia in order to make his attacks even more devastating.

◦ Speedster Physiology. Moving at high speeds, as it happens, does generate a lot of friction. Jake, along with his speedster powers, has fortunately developed high heat tolerance, superhuman resistance and friction resistance to prevent him from incinerating every time he kicks his speed up to high gear. That same feature does not apply to clothing, but fortunately for Jake (and the world) HERO has tailor-produced clothing interwoven with special fibers to prevent them from incinerating. Most of the time, at any rate.

◦ Mega Momentum. Moving at high speeds, ALSO, as it happens, allows one to build up a great deal of momentum to deliver devastating blows. So while Jake can't exactly run up walls, he can do the next best things and run through walls.

◦ Heed the Speed. There area few drawbacks to Jake's very impressive power set. One of the most glaring is that Jake cannot breathe when using his power at any more than a slight speed boost. While some magicians and world record chasers can hold their breaths for very long periods of time, Jake did not develop superhuman lung capacity and, even with extensive training, has managed to hold his breath for up to a minute and a half, tops. Still a lot of time, but not forever. Another problem is that Jake, owing to the laws of physics, cannot stop moving when he's been running at very high speeds effortlessly. This has resulted in a lot of injuries and collateral damage, as sometimes slowing down involves crushing multiple walls (and often bones). Lastly, Jake's powers require lots and lots of calories. This, fortunately, is not too big of a problem, as Jake has learned to quickly stop for fast food before going after a villain.

Jake had scholarship opportunities to, at the very least, compete at the collegiate level and beyond in American football and is a great sportsman that is also in excellent physical shape. Even with his powers providing a boost, though, he isn't particularly superhuman in this respect.

In terms of raw speed, Jake is trounced by very few. The only noticeable weakness in his agility is the fact that
he does not have fluent control of where he's going once he's reached the upper echelons of his possible speed, but once you're going that fast, is control really that big of a concern?

Jake is not particularly stupid. But he's also not particularly smart, and his tendency to zoom directly into conflict without thinking of a plan is a point against him as well. He also does have a short attention span. Both of those latter points, though, aren't really knocks against Jake, who wouldn't have had a real problem getting a high school diploma if he needed one. Not a scholar, but not a total simpleton.

Jake's hero name is Blast for a reason. An armored human body moving as fast as it does when Jake's legs are powering it can do some pretty significant damage. This ability does pale in comparison to some other heroes that are far more capable of wreaking havoc with their powers, and being a human wrecking ball is not the most effective way of causing harm, but don't tell that to HERO's Collateral Damage Department.

Perhaps more lethal than the Average Joe that can't run faster than Mach 1, but outside of trampling somebody with his powers, Jake isn't really capable of causing huge damage with his person.

Jake is shockingly resilient. He is heat-resistant by nature of his powers, and is also much more durable than the average person, able to take abuse as a result of his powers and shrug it off in situations that regular humans would find lethal. That being said, though his durability is enhanced, his bones still break (eventually), pain still hurts, and bullets still cut through him like Swiss cheese.

The fast food thing wasn't a joke; Jake needs to stay constantly replenished in order to use his powers. That being said, his powers perfectly match the person that he is, which is extremely energetic already.

Jake has had extensive training to control his powers, and is capable of performing very impressive sharp turns and weaves for somebody moving at his speed. He's limited by the laws of physics (or whatever bastardization of them exists in this universe), but for somebody moving as fast as he does, he exerts a remarkable degree of control.

As noted earlier, Jake does not operate on some high-ground moral compass. He likes seeking thrills and having fun, and that philosophy does sometimes negative affect his hero work. Jake is, however, quite well-adjusted to society and is generally a good person. He certainly is discomforted by the pain of others and does want to help, as much as that urge is overpowered by his free-spiritedness and devil-may-car attitude at times.

• Respectable hand-to-hand combatant. Though Jake has never really been formally trained in close quarters combat, a combination of natural intuition, experience, and HERO's training has made him formidable, though by no means an expert. Being faster than everybody else in the room does help, though.

[ EQUIPMENT ]

• His goggles, which are high-tech H.E.R.O. equipment that essentially functions as "Google Maps for people that move faster than a jet plane." Not only do the goggles help clarify his vision, they help him mark locations in real time, making it easier for him to move seamlessly. They also protect his eyes. He can still use his powers without them, but can't see nearly as well and this is much less precise in his travels.
• H.E.R.O. grade knuckledusters, which are built of a highly-resistant titanium alloy and also has a shock mode. Gives Blast's punches a little more sting.

Jake obviously takes issue with the Director's strictness, and has on multiple occasions found himself in the Director's office for misdeeds. He does have a deep, though hidden, respect for the man, who he sees, in a distant way, as almost a father figure.
