Saint Valerius Academy - A Knight/Noble Fantasy

The school, Saint Valerius Academy is a year-round academy that's located in a relatively remote place in Northern Europe, with the closest civilization being the town nearly twenty miles distant. The academy proper is atop a small hill in a valley, surrounded by lush, heavy forest. Its classes are for a high-school only, with college level classes available for the more advanced students. Dorms are provided on-site, and located away from the main school buildings. With each advancing grade level, students are awarded with more freedom(Both in selecting classes and outside of school hours.) One day(Sunday) is given as a relaxation day each week, and the students are allowed off the premises to go to the village.

The Nobles are sons and daughters of the very, very rich, making this a school that's very exclusive and almost impossibly(For an average person)expensive to afford. In return, the school promises to create an exceptionally safe(Via both the highly-trained and paid guards, and the Knights) learning environment that promotes interaction and skills that such future captains of industry would need. While all the classes are available to everyone, the Nobles will only get Nobles as classmates, and so on(The Knights may, in fact, sit in on these classes).

The Middle Class are usually local children who graduated with exceptionally high grades from their schools, and got a scholarship into the academy. The others that make up the Middle Class are rich(But not the super-rich) who can afford at least some of the school's fees and then the sons and daughters of the faculty and staff.

Knights can be selected from the Middle Class, but more often than not they are transferred into the school for the explicit purpose of being a Knight to a specific noble.

More Things Explained

Duels: Duels are a more specialized way of climbing the rank very quickly. For a Knight to enter a duel seriously, they must be ranked. However, all knights are allowed to call a duel, ranked or not. Each Knight, beginning the duel, gives up their pin, the representation of their rank. Each is allowed time to prepare, being able to bring their own weapons and/or magic to the table, and then they battle. All weapons must be approved by the supervising teacher prior to the duel. The victor is the one that does not concede defeat and/or the supervising faculty deems the winner while watching (They are given rather strict training on when to do this, such as if a student might get seriously injured, or if the battle has gone on for a very long time, they must try to find a winner so that the Knights do not fight themselves to death.). The winner then gets the pin (out of the two given up) with the highest rank and moves on. The loser gets the lower pin and must accept it. There are extreme cases where the pins the Knights get at the end of the duels do not remain the same (as in in some cases, the teachers will elect to move a Knight up or down the rank forcibly.) however the rule is to treat the duel as over when it is over and the ranks as solid until the next supervising session. If a Knight loses a duel, they are allowed one consecutive duel before they are suspended from calling duels for the next month.

Ranks: There are a total of 25 ranked positions each with their own specialized pin. They go down in number and color as you get higher up the rank. Rank 25 -16 are bronze, Rank 15 - 6 are silver, 5 - 4 are gold, and 1 is purple. Every other week or so, the Coordinator makes rounds for "Rank Sessions" where he/she watches several Knights brawl with each other and then assesses their rank within the school. All students are watched, however only those that are Ranked are watched by the specialist (Coordinator), others are simply watched by normal teachers. After the "Sessions" are over (often without the knowledge of the students) a board is posted with the Rankings (one is also posted online on the school's website via the Newspaper 'Club'). The other unranked students remain unaware of their progress towards the rank but are allowed to seek advice from teachers about what they could do better. It should also be noted that Knights are not only ranked based on fighting ability, but on a whole expanding to their studies and social life (what the teachers see of it, anyway).

Dorms: Each dorm is associated with a class level, however Seniors need not stay in the senior dorms. However, freshmen must stay in the freshmen dorm. Each dorm as it travels up the class level, also travels up the other 'class' level as it increases in price. The dorms are all co-op and males and females are even allowed to stay with each other depending on the family's wishes. Knights are generally required to stay with their nobles in the same dorm room and so each dorm room comes with one large bedroom and one smaller one for the Knight. All students in the school are required to stay on the campus for training purposes.

Weapons and Technology: This world is fairly advanced, but magical, taking places several years after our own modern day. The Knights are split into two factions, those who use physical non-magic based weapons and those that use magical means to defend their charges. They are the Order of Twilight (Magic Knights) and the Order of Shield. Neither Order is restricted to just physical or magical means, however many students take the tradition very seriously and shun students who mix methods.

School Rules: They don't have many, but Students are only allowed to leave the campus on urgent business or otherwise on the weekends like everyone else. The closest nearby town is a 30 minute walked and is called Little Helm and many of the school's students hang out around there on the weekends (it's apparently become a tradition to hold a dance party every Friday night in the Little Helm local bar).

Nobles are not allowed to fight in duels, but they can call them for their Knight. If a Noble breaks this rule and fights in an illegal duel, they are put under Dorm Arrest and they cannot leave their dorm until the suspension is lifted. Their Knights will get all food, schoolwork, and other such things as the Noble needs during this time. Duels are absolutely not allowed without faculty supervision. And, any faculty caught allowing an illegal duel will be punished severely along with the students. If a Knight breaks this rule, they are put into forced detainment and punished (Usually through pretty harsh training) and a Substitute Knight is called in from the Institution (a place where Knight gather and are hired, ye.)

RP Rules - Please Read

1)GM and co-GM reserve the rights to kick players out of RP for reasons they deem... well... reasonable. These could include disrespect, lack of posting for extended periods of time, or other various malconducts.
2)The RP will only wait one week before moving on without players who haven't posted. Eventually, your character may even be written out of the story. Just be aware of this.
3)Please make sure that if you have plans that they are run by either the GM or co-GM before implementation. That goes for changed character background, plot ideas, etc.
4) The GM and co-GM reserve the right to change these rules anytime they see fit.
5) Please, Please always keep the best interest of the RP in mind. That means being mindful of how what your character does affects the RP and the world and whether or not to do said action. Just... be mindful.

Alright. I haven't done RP like this in a very long time, so excuse me if I'm rusty but I really wanted to get back to my roots of rping. I wanted to highlight a few things I'm thinking about below so you can weigh in on those when/if you express interest.

- Expected writing level. I'm adding this RP into Casual, but we are going to expect at least some level of para RP (multiple paragraphs). This does mean that writing might be slower than the average RP so you can probably expect to post at least once a week, once a month at minimum. We're not going to do novella here by any means.
- Co-GM. I would like a Co-GM. If you have any interest in this, please DM me with what you would be able to help me do.
- Fighting. I would love for fighting to have an actual like.. minigame/dice roll aspect to it? The idea here is that characters pick abilities and talents that suit their character's skills and general plot/direction. Those abilities are assigned modifiers to the base dice roll or allow them to add an additional dice to the roll, etc. So, Knight 1 creates an ability called Strafe where they can deftly dodge. It adds +5 to their main attack roll. And in the minigame, perhaps, both knights roll a d20 and whoever rolled higher wins. Then the players write out their battle with the intent for the battle to come to the conclusion the dice gave them. So if Knight 1 rolled higher, their player would write the battle with the knowledge that at the end, Knight 1 should win the duel.
- If that's too complicated and we'd rather scrap it entirely, I wouldn't hold it against you. Lol.
- My role will mainly be NPC running. I'll set up certain areas and side plots an give little plot hooks to your characters using the NPCs. I may fill some of the Knight Ranks with NPCs to give the world a bit more flavor/color. But that will depend on how many folks we get it.
- Character(s) per writer. I would like to keep this at 1 per writer, but due to the nature of the pairings, we may need duplicates. We can decide that after we've seen how many show interest.

And I think that's it? I'll add anything else later should I have anything else I'd like to share with you. Weigh in on whatever you'd like to weigh in on and let me know if there's anything that you're curious about or "if you changed just this one thing, I'd be way more excited about joining" if you're thinking something like this.

Time Travel WIP

She was running. That's all she knew in that moment. One moment, she was having a nice relaxing bath, the next she was running through the woods butt naked, wondering how the hell she got there. Had she been drugged? Was the rest of her family okay? Where was she running to? She stopped after a few minutes of running, her mind racing with what to do. She hadn't seen a single damn building out here. Her next thought went to who would do this? Why would they do this? And where the hell were they now.

She continued walking, her feet cut by the forest floor and raw by now. Every step was painful, every step was starting to feel like her last. She wasn't built for this, for survival out in the woods with nothing but her birthday suit to protect her. She was going to die out here. As the thought hit her, she stopped, dead in her tracks and plopped down onto her knees to cry, sobbing after a moment.

Her tears pulled the attention of a man, just within earshot, who.. at first thought she might be some ghost. But against his better nature, walked closer to investigate. He hadn't planned on veering off course today, his mother would have surely punished him but he couldn't help his curiosity. It wasn't every day that the prince of his fair kingdom got the chance to explore out on his own like this, nevermind the fact that he'd slipped out unawares...

He approached the sound, still fully convinced he was going to be attacked by some foul witch or ghost trying to coax him closer, when he spotted her. She was hunched over in the grass and... completely naked?! He blinked, not really fully believing his eyes. But he couldn't stop his feet from getting closer from, trying to help her.

"..Miss? Are you okay?"

Okay! So, obviously this doesn't answer a lot of questions. But I'm here to help sort of explain a bit of what I'm thinking. And I would need someone willing to help world build a bit here.

Main Female would be played by me. She comes from our world, the modern world. But while taking a bath, a sorceress from his world (your character) has pulled her into their kingdom. Her spell to bring darkness back to the world of [INSERT NAME HERE] requires the blood of a virgin from another plane. The spell to even get her there was costly, so she wasn't willing to give up when her spell backfired and sent the poor girl to the forests. It wasn't until she saw the girl with the prince that she realized it wasn't going to be as easy as she'd thought it would be...

Sorceress would be one of the palace aids, someone who works closely with the crown and has connections. Eventually the king will pass and the prince will come into power, etc. The story from there is up to us but, there it is! Out in the world! Let me know what you all think and thanks for reading!

This first part is going to come with a whole lot of explanations and exposition so just like.. bear with me here.

Do I have any business coming back here with how busy and hectic my life is right now? No.
Do I still want to create a small escape where I can write the plots I'm interested in? Yes.

Some things to understand;

> I'm 27. I'm expecting you to be 18+.
> I have a full time job working with kids. I work 9 to 5, but sometimes 9 to well.. 9. Just depends on the day. Weekends vary. Sometimes I have to work them, some times I have a breather. I'm also planning on quitting in like... 3 months in order to move to a new state to be with my long-term boyfriend. I will be stressed, I will be busy. Replies may take weeks at a time. I ask you to be patient with me.
> I am more than okay with smut. I welcome it. If there's any part of a plot or any smut that makes me uncomfortable, I will talk to you about it. If you don't change after we've talked about it, I will drop you. No questions asked. </3
> My level of writing depends on my energy level and my muse for the story/plot. I can write long, several paragraph replies, or I can do one short paragraph. I will never give you a one liner. I do third person, past tense. I.E. "She looked at him as if he'd just tried to bite her fingers off."
> I believe heavily in communication between writing partners. If you aren't willing to communicate with me, dni.
> That being said, if I don't hear anything from you, reply or ooc with in a one month period, I'll assume the plot to be dropped.

Okay! So, onto plot related things. I wanted to go ahead and have a fleshed out idea ready for you all, but I may just add that in to this later one once I have time to work on it. For now, I'd love to hear some ideas, plots, things you guys want to try but haven't had the partner to do it with.

Here are a few of my preferences;

> I like to play females, as that is my own gender, but am willing to play a male for the sake of plot. I can double up, but would prefer playing one main character with "npc" type characters.
> I like the usual romance tropes. I'm a romantic at heart and really enjoy those melodrama type plots. Girl being chased down by a group of baddies, guy comes to save her life and be her bodyguard, etc etc.
> I also really enjoy time travel sort of plots? Like getting stuck in a time that is not your own and having to rely on someone from that world/time to help you. I pull a lot of inspo for these kinds of plots from Saver and Red River. The plot I'll be writing up will have a plot like this.
> I enjoy the Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Donganrompa, Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, Walking Dead, Remnant, etc etc. I also really enjoy korean dramas so if you see me using an Asian as my faceclaim, no you didn't.

I might add more later on down the line but this is the nit and gritty of it. I look forward to hearing from you! I'll post information on my Time Travel plot when I have time to work on it.

Admittedly, he wasn't super impressed so far, but considering that they were still in an empty room waiting for their asshole instructor, he had to give it to them. At least they didn't storm out like he'd wanted to when his instructor had done this to him. He rose after a moment and turned on the intercom.

"Hello newbies. Sorry for being so late, I hope you can forgive me." He started with a chuckle. "Admittedly, this was done to me when I first arrived and I wanted to see what my instructor at the time was thinking. I'm not sure I even get it though, myself." He explained, laughing again.

"I know you all have been waiting rather patiently to get started with the nitty and gritty of everything, but I'm going to have to ask for some more of your patience, okay? I'm not going to send a bunch of strangers out to fight the lost without giving you all the chance to get to know one another. So, today. I'd like each of you to pair off and go complete the task I've laid out for you." He explained more before cutting off the intercom and stepping outside through the side door.

He entered with a clipboard, scratching the back of his head with his free hand. "Let's see here..." He started, looking at his list. "Ash and Leyfinn, I need you two to head out and find a herb for me. It should be fairly easy to find but be mindful that you might come across some small lost. Be on the lookout. The herb I need is called Cermila. It's used in medicine to help fight off infection. Our healers are low in supply. Return with as much as you can find."

"Isa, Finn, and Corban; I need you three to report to the Ministry of Care in Korstone. They're looking for workers to help them rebuild homes for the tribes out in the outskirts of Barallia. There's a small chance you might run in to some lost, so be prepared. Report to Lafre. She'll help you all get started." He explained, setting his clipboard down by his side now. "Should you have any questions, I'll be right here. But otherwise, you should be off."

Fashionably late, as always, Isa arrived just on the trail of Finn, a spring in her step. She'd been excited about this for days, constantly badgering Efran about it on her phone. He wouldn't give her any details though. So much for having the inside scoop. She thought to herself. She blinked as she walked in behind Finn, surprised at the empty room.

"Shouldn't there be... I don't know... stuff in here?" She asked, looking around. Her eyes went wide at the sight of two familiar boys. She'd seen them on the ship, but hasn't spoken to them. They knew a side of her that she no longer was and even she hesitated to speak to them because they knew some of her story. But, now she supposed that she didn't have a choice anymore.

"Anyway.. Hey! I'm Isa! And you all are?" She started, looking at the group. Maybe if she pretended not to remember them...
