Gilgamesh HQ

"Why have I come? Isn't it obvious?" Antonio said, rising to his feet. "God wills it."

The helmed head of the knight turned to face the new crowd of thugs armed with strange and exotic firearms. Some looked organic in nature. Considering the tendency of Hell's native armaments to be either fused to their wielder or alive and hostile, these were likely Gilgamesh's own creation formed of their twisted experiments. Just further evidence to damn these agents of Satan.
Furthermore, the fiends even had a young girl among their ranks. Was no sin beyond them? Surely a civilized society had evolved beyond the use of child soldiers. Despite his duty to punish evil, the paladin was still obliged to show mercy to women and children.

"HEAR ME, SERVANTS OF EVIL." he shouted. "I have come to dismantle this blasphemous organization. You've claimed the lives and souls of the angels themselves, and I cannot allow it to continue. But as you cowards count young girls among your ranks, I will offer you one chance."

The Paladin summoned Michael, brandishing the weapon.
"Renounce your evil ways! Drop your arms and leave, and I swear upon the Lord's good name, I shall let you go. But if you stay and fight, then you choose death. But consider this: The Lord forgives our sins. Walk away now, and you can put this evil behind you. Just walk away."

"What say you?"
Gilgamesh HQ

Suddenly, the roar of an engine filled the room as Antonio Hasta, the last crusader, burst into the room on a gleaming golden motorcycle. The chopper's exhaust pipes extended high behind him, resembling a pair of iron wings. The front itself resembled a crucifix, poised directly at the armed guards.

There was a brief moment of silence, or at least as silent as it could be with a Harley revving in an enclosed space. Hasta eyed the man fallen on the ground, and remembered the old adage, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". That man with the prosthetic was no doubt some hapless bystander, falling pray to the heathens that filled the room.

Antonio's fist tightened around Gabriel.

"RIDE, ROCINANTE." he shouted, popping a wheelie before charging forward. The lance thrust through a singular guard before drifting across the room, carrying the hapless fiend like a gruesome flag. The bike slid to a stop behind Gene, and Hasta tossed the heretic off of his lance. The remaining guards dared open their fire a second time against an innocent.
Lance gave way to sword and shield, and Antonio leaned down, wrapping his arm around the prone form. Images of the Saints themselves deflected gunfire, such was their gift to the faithful. Once the volley ended, the engine gave a fierce roar to match the one escaping the paladin's lips as he charged the last two men. Some may argue that it was ignoble for cavalry to mow down infantry, but these men were long past mercy, or anything other than God's fury given shape.

Antonio stomped down on the kickstand and dismounted, his motorcycle dissolving into ethereal golden flames as he stepped away. He knelt by Gene's form, examining his body.
"He was shot, but bears no wounds. Probably beanbag rounds. I should prepare bandages." he said, removing his scarlet cape. As he began to tear off long strips, his eyes noticed something odd.
"His arm... how odd. Is that marble?" he put down his cape, and reached forward to grope the plated limb.
@Zobozun

May I ask you, are you idiot? Brazil has nothing to do with Spain, go read some history books, we were colonized by Portugal. Even if it was meant as a personal attack, the only thing you succeed at is in showing how much of a useless parasite you are.

Are you really in a situation to complain about historical accuracy?
Barlour City: Gilgamesh HQ

A lone man clad in the fine armor of the knights of yore strode forth, his attire fiercely clashing with the grimy cement and asphalt surrounding him. Below his boots was a parking lot, housing the cars of an untold number of cubicle drones and suit-clad executives. In front of his face was a massive skyscraper, one built by the greed and lies of the unfaithful. The heretics inside thought themselves an equal authority with Heaven and therefore God Almighty, and that would not stand. Somehow, even the blank bucket helm adorning his face conveyed an expression of divine wrath as he stared defiantly at the leviathan that DARED to raise a hand against divine servants.

No, it had done even worse than merely declare war on our Lord and Savior. The church had many ears. Antonio had heard tell that this so-called business did terrible things to His servants. They performed "experiments". The most innocent beings in existence, guides to humanity, were now used for vivisections, dissections, and torture. If the information held true, their very souls were forfeit.

To claim any being's soul was an unforgivable crime.

"Today..." he began, before raising his voice to a thunderous roar, "TODAY I, FATHER ANTONIO HASTA, EXORCIST, PALADIN, HUMBLE SERVANT OF OUR LORD, DECLARE CRUSADE AGAINST THE FILTH OF THIS CITY, THE HERETICS, UNBELIEVERS AND DEMONS, UNDER THE ORDERS OF THE ARCHBISHOP OF ROME, POPE FRANCIS, IN THE NAME OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOULS, FOR I HAVE NONE. AMEN!"

The lone warrior of the next crusade raised his fist, a long, golden lance materialized in his hand, giving the faint call of a trumpet.

"AMEN!"

Name: Antonio Hasta
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Race: Human

Appearance: Anderson's work attire consists of a suit of metal armor, sleek and stout looking. Over it is an ornate white surcoat with a scarlet cross emblazoned across the chest. A large red cape covers the knight's shoulders, and his head is concealed by a great helm. From his belt hangs a silver crucifix, several bottles of holy water, and similar items. He is the very image of a wandering crusader.
Underneath the helmet lies a young man with medium length black hair, brushed back and revealing a shock of white. His face is clean shaved and his green eyes are focused and steely. His body sports the odd scar or nick, notably one going diagonally over his eyebrows.

Faction: The Catholic Church

Personality: Andrew, on his surface, resembles the quintessential crusader. Frighteningly zealous and possessed of an incredibly devout faith, he does not hesitate to smite any demons and heretics he sees. Paladin Anderson is a tool of divine retribution.
With his helmet off, metaphorically speaking, he's relatively down to earth. He's an avid reader, and when he's not fighting demons he often helps run the orphanage he grew up in. He holds moral values in high esteem, and puts a high value on human life. In fact, this trait is often what fuels his fire. In his own words, he's been blessed to meet many kind people, and should do his all to defend good. That is why he fights. That is why he delights in punishing demons.

Bio: Anderson was born an orphan in Europe. Raised in a Catholic-run orphanage, he was soon found to have a spark of devotion setting him apart from the other children. Carefully, he was guided to study, train, and pray harder than one would ever expect, and was ordained at a very young age. From there, he was drafted into the ranks of the Vatican's foremost Exorcists. Its secret legions consist of highly trained demon hunters equipped with blessed weapons. Anderson specifically was a young prodigy, and his single-minded devotion combined with constant demon-slaying and regular contact with divine artifacts even granted him a powerful blessing.
Now, with the balance of the world thrown out of order, he fights to bring peace to humanity, by eliminating demonic threats with extreme prejudice. God wills it.

[Combat]

Powers and Abilities:
Deus Vult - The obligatory DT equivalent. Invokes the wrath of Heaven's mightiest warriors for a short time. A giant, spectral warrior angel appears behind the paladin, mimicking his moves. During this time, the Paladin himself takes on a golden aura, his weapons go ablaze, and he gains wings of light.

Style:
Crusader - LVL 1 - The "default" set of moves, covering techniques used on foot.
Godspeed - LVL 1 - Summons a holy motorcycle, allowing the Paladin to become a modern day cavalier. Changes the properties of certain moves and allows high speed.

Equipment: Anderson wields a variety of blessed weapons, passed down for centuries.

Michael - LVL 1 - A set consisting of a gleaming longsword and sturdy shield. The former has an ornate crossguard and scripture etched onto the blade. The latter is adorned with a large crucifix, across which is inscribed "Quis ut Deus" and around which are paintings of various saints and martyrs.
The weapon has a special ability to change its form. The shield combines with the sword and magically forms a gigantic claymore, altering its abilities and trading defense in exchange for the ability to punish evil without mercy.

Gabriel - LVL 1 - A long, powerful lance with a shining white blade. It's enchanted that, when thrown, it and its wielder will be reunited.

Raphael - LVL 1 - A longbow carved from an ancient tree used to lynch a martyr. It launches a storm of magically generated arrows.

Uriel - LVL 1 - A frightening mace, with a head resembling a brazier that can extend on a long chain. Its sheer mass can pulverize sinners.

Techniques:

Michael
Cavalier - LVL 1 - Charges forward with a powerful thrust, skewering evil.
Stonewall - LVL 1 - Bashes an enemy with a powerful shield strike, knocking them away.
Castle - LVL 1 - A barrier of holy energy extends from the shield, protecting allies from harm.

Gabriel
Longinus - LVL 1 - Throws the lance at a high velocity, sticking into an enemy. Can be followed up by teleporting to the spear's location. (Gabriel is unusable until the secondary step is used)
War Dance - LVL 1 - Spins the spear in a wide arc around the body. Even surrounded, a paladin will not surrender.

Raphael
Artemis - LVL 1 - Fires three arrows in a wedge pattern. A technique developed to fend off armies.
Crescent Moon - LVL 1 - Fires a group of arrows upwards, landing down in a small area. Hunts down those that may hide their sins.

Uriel
Flagellation - LVL 1 - Twists the chain around an enemy, then yanks them closer. Evil cannot escape.
Immolation - LVL 1 - Shoots the head out at an enemy on a chain, then causes a fiery explosion before retracting. Lets sinners taste the Lord's wrath.
@IncredibleBee This creates a new faction, but for now you are in-between Lumen Sages and the Human factions. By virtue of their own race, you would be allied to humanity, but by virtue of religion you stand by the angels. Your character and the Vatican would work quite often with the DHO, who have members of the Vatican among it's ranks too I would imagine. The faction will be discussed, and even added if you manage to get enough players for it, three players should suffice. For now you'll be a subset of DHO.

But other than those changes I'm good to go, yeah?
I'll have it in the CS tab when I get home.
Alright, underlings, hold your horses. There are only three people fit to pass judgment on character applications.

First off, it is regrettably true that my co-GMs have set precedence for very nearly copy-pasting existing characters into this RP. If not for my continuous nagging, Lmpkio's would have been even more egregious. So there's nothing to prevent an expy of Anderson from being introduced into this RP. But the fact remains that clear expies of existing characters are in, so there's no reason why you can't follow in their proud tradition. All I ask is that you change the name so it's not incredible blatant.

Secondly, I'm fine with characters being in other factions aside from the big ones listed in the RP. In fact, I'm very fine with it. Meanwhile, the 'geography' of the world is not, in fact, different from modern Earth. Catholicism would absolutely still exist, and Bee's character existing as not only a part but an exemplar of it is perfectly alright.

Bee, I hope you haven't gotten the wrong idea about this RP from the other players' nagging. I think it would be fun and interesting for all of us for your unique character to take the stage, so long as you change his name.

Nah, the game looks good, even if there are a few naggers. I guess a name change is fair, but I still say it isn't a carbon copy of Anderson.
Maybe if I was playing a regenerator with hundreds of blessed bayonets, I'd see their point.

EDIT: Okay he's Antonio Hasta now.
Ultimately it comes down to the lead GM, but I personally wouldn't approve of a character that's a carbon copy of someone from a popular franchise. But that's just me, we'll see what the GMs have to say.

There's more Paladins besides Alexander Anderson. It's a pretty common archetype, extending back centuries.
<Snipped quote by IncredibleBee>

I doubt thats what he meant. I personally, believe you should replace "Europe" with "Fortuna" and "Catholic Church" with "Order." My faction is pretty much empty and he seems to fit well.

Yeah, but I don't wanna be an Order of the Sword. I must show people the light of God.

Even if I'm alone, that doesn't matter. A paladin stands no matter the odds.
@IncredibleBee
I have no problems with it. I'm just pointing out that it may not be fun for you or others to play a character that is pretty much taken directly out of a series. At least I find it far more entertaining to create a character from scratch, then continue to develop him/her as the RP goes on. If you're of a different opinion, then I won't try to convince you. Just throwing it out there :)

Are you saying the fun I'm having isn't real?
