Every thought in the world rushed through Dean’s head as he ran across the parking lot, the rage he had felt only moments before pushing him through the fear that he felt at the idea of his baby brother’s throat being ripped out in some random woods in Minnesota. Growling, he looked back at Kenzi, allowing her to catch up to him.
Angry or not, they were better together against a nest, if that’s what they were walking into. This was unlike Sam, to run off with some random person. This person must have gotten into his head, poisoned him.
“Sammy, what were you thinking…”, he muttered, hitting the woods and following the trail that seemed to be laid out. He noticed that it was a specific trail, which caused him to stop and turn to Kenzi, “This was planned. They’ve done this before…the vamps. We can just follow their trail and hopefully he’s alive in there.”

Anna giggled at his joke. It wasn’t particularly funny, but with the adrenaline and the freedom, it was the funniest joke she had ever heard. Pulling him with her, she backed through the front door of the house, the lock long having been broken. The house almost moaned at being inhabited again, the floorboards creaking under her feet as she pulled him.
“There’s no power. So, it’s going to be a boring night. I don’t know how much of a breath of fresh air that will be, compared to the hotel…”, she quipped, signaling at the dusty living room. Without much of a thought, she gained a bit of courage, tangling her fingers into the back of his hair and kissing him roughly.
