Dean Winchester
Dean couldn’t believe what he was hearing as he met Nat’s eyes. They had lost. The girl was gone. Sam had, for some reason, chose himself over her. Dean thought about it, and thought about Alastair, and then realized no…no he didn’t. He took a chance, because Alastair would have slaughtered all of them, if he wanted her bad enough.
He turned his head to the side, cracking his neck that was still incredibly stiff after being dead for a time, and moved himself to try and stand, turning his gaze to Mika. He noticed where her gaze had fallen, and he swallowed, realizing she was still thinking about what had happened at the hotel with Esme.
“Well then, we gotta go get her…”, he grumbled, pushing himself away from Mika and off the ground.
“No hold the hell on…”, Bobby stopped him in his tracks, “You just came back from the dead…again. Can’t you take a damn minute to appreciate that?”
“No. What I can do is go and kill Alastair. The son of a bitch is going to use that poor girl as a weapon. I can’t let him do that, to her or to the universe. What the hell do you think he wants her for?!”, he almost shouted at Bobby, who flinched but stood strong against him as they stood toe to toe.
“And you’re no good to anyone dead. None of you are. We stay here. We regroup. We wait for Sam to get back and we figure this out together. Going in half cocked is what got us in this mess in the first place!”, Bobby shouted back, grabbing Dean’s shirt. He let him go, patting him on the chest, “Give us a chance to just appreciate you being alive, boy…”
“Fine. Start making some calls. First thing in the morning, I’m going to find him. You can either come with, or I’ll take him myself…”, Dean spat, stepping away from all of them to walk into the kitchen. He was practically dying of thirst and starting to shake from anxiety, while talking about the man who had forced his hand in Hell. He didn’t want any of them to see how shook up he was.
Annabeth
Anna fumbled with the phone in her hand, trying to make a decision on what to do. She could still hear the demon singing, oblivious to her being outside. Alastair would be gone potentially all night, as he rounded up more demons for the holding tank. So... She took off in a run, sprinting toward the building she had described to Sam. As she stepped inside, she looked around the building, noticing that it wasn't warded at all, which would leave them sitting ducks, but she had to take her chances. She needed to tell Sam face to face that she likely wouldn't be able to come back to him, despite how desperate he seemed to get her out. Until Alastair could be killed, there was little hope... She sat on the bottom step that led to the rafters of the second warehouse, curling her arms around her stomach and letting out a soft sob at the situation, and the rushing of demon blood through her brain.
Outside, Sam instantly went to his car, knowing that if he drove it would be much quicker than walking it. It also meant that IF he needed any weapons, he would have them. Taking his keys out of his pocket of his jacket, he quietly got inside his car and drove off as quietly as he could before then speeding up to get to the warehouse near the railroad in question. The drive took only around a few minutes for him in total, but knew it'd have taken longer if he were on foot and he couldn't risk taking the longest mode of transport to get to Annabeth. As he got there, he pulled up close by but not so close that any demons watching the area would spot him. Turning the engine and headlights off, he got out of the car zipping his jacket right up from the cool night air and walked to his trunk where he quietly unlocked it and pulled out his flashlight and at least a knife that he could easily stash away securely. Closing the trunk once more, he stealthily headed over to where he needed to meet Annabeth, finding a way in after making sure the coast was clear.
Anna covered her arms as best she could in the cold warehouse as a familiar and safe prescence swept over her body, causing her to look up suddenly as Sam stepped into the large room. She almost yelled to him, but instead stood from the step and sprinted toward him, quickly throwing her arms around his waist. "Oh my god. It's so good to see your face...", she gasped against his chest, taking a deep breath of the safety in his scent as she held onto him.
As Sam got into warehouse and snuck his way through the back way, he just had the feeling that Annabeth was nearby, which got confirmed when he looked ahead of him after checking either side and saw Annabeth running at him and instantly hugging him tightly. He wrapped his arms round her, turning his flashlight off so they could be in private and not risk their presence to any demons. "It's good to see you too" he replied, kissing the top of her head out of instinct.
She breathed a few more deep breaths against his chest, before pulling back from him, realizing they were likely on a time schedule. She peered up at him and bit her lip before starting to explain, "The angel brought me to the warehouse...across the lot. Alastair has been making me drink gallons...GALLONS of some kind of blood. It's making me feel horrible. He said he would chain me up and kill all of you, if I tried to get away, and has been t-torturing me...making me kill." She looked down from his eyes, taking a deep breath, "It's why I can't come back with you...but I needed you to know, and hear it from me. I can't let him hurt you.”
As she spoke to him after pulling herself away from him, he listened intently, glancing up toward the warehouse across the lot out of instinct before looking back at her. He went wide eyed then his eyes narrowed in anger as she told him what Alistair was making her do. It was so much like what Ruby was making him do and he never wanted this for her. She was too innocent to be put through this.
He placed his hand on her cheek and rubbed it with his thumb as she told himt hat's why she couldn't come back with him, and as much as he wanted to plead and beg her to go with him, he knew deep down, that Alistair would do as he says, if anything that Dean said earlier on in the day was anything to go by. "O...okay" he stammered his reply, lifting her head from under her chin with his thumb, to make her look at him again, giving her a reassuring small smile. "I know how you feel....believe me. I get what you're going through, but that's between you and me" he then told her. "So get back there so he doesn't know you've gone, but the moment you can, you update me. I will come back for you when it's safe to do so" he said once more, kissing her forehead.
As she took in his expressions, she realized that he knew what was coming before she even explained her plan to him. She almost wanted him to protest, but on the other hand knew that if he did, she would likely stay. She nuzzled into his hand, closing her eyes as she took in the calm that washed over her, and the warmth of his calloused hand.
“I’m so sorry you came all the way here, for this. I wanted to look you in the eyes to tell you.”, she whispered, as his thumb raised her chin and she stared between his eyes, trying to talk herself into running with him. It hurt her stomach like cancer to think about staying, or to think about him driving away, now. His kiss against her forehead caused her eyes to flutter closed again as she sighed, “I’m pretty sure that’s not going to happen any time soon…”
She then stepped back, raising her hand to his and lowering it to his side as she stepped away from him, “Take care of yourself, and if you get a chance, kill him?”
She then turned and wrapped her arms around her body again to shield her bare arms from the cold as she began stomping across the gravel floor of the warehouse, back to her demon Nanny.
