Basic InformationName: Fletcher G. Payne
Nickname/Alias/Etc: Fletch, The Mesmer, Mez
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 82kg
Type: New Student
AppearanceHair Color:Dark Brown
Eye Color:Hazel
Ethnicity:Caucasian | Portuguese-American
Physical Appearance:Fletcher is very much a young man. As appearances go, he would be well suited to a high-flying office job than a sportsman. His face is healthy and defined, clean shaven and youthful. His skin is a gentle olive hue and soft-looking, as if it were well moisturized every morning (Which it is, actually). His body remains very much the same, his Portuguese heritage doing well to prevent the patchy tan lines that plague most others. Health-wise, his body is lean and sufficiently proportioned. Though not overly endowed with muscles, Fletcher exercises his body enough to exhibit rough guidelines of where his muscle groups lie. He sports a six-pack, though it remains wholly undefined by athletic standards. His legs aren't entirely toned, merely lithe. Due to his heritage, he doesn't have incredibly hairy legs at all. So much so that some people believe that he waxes them (Which he may have on a few previous occasions).
His hair is immaculate. Shaved down to exactly 2cm at the sides and the back, with the back being squared off at the nape of his neck. On top, his hair is cut down to 2 inches with the front strands being left a little longer. There is a 4 inch line shaved into the left of his crown to partition his hair creating a neat parting with the hair on each side being combed in opposite directions. On the left side, the combed strands of hair are faded down to the 2cm length. And on top the remaining hair is combed over towards the right. The front strands of hair, his fringe, is then combed backward and simultaneously over to the right side. This style is held into place via the use of hair wax.
Fletcher maintains an important look about himself, as if he were constantly about to perform some illustrious trick. He may come across as self-obsessed to some or highly snobbish but he merely takes pride in his appearance and enjoys the looks that come with it.
Attire: Obsessed with his appearance, Fletcher spends a lot of time on his choice of clothes. He maintains two styles which he would consider as everyday wear. His first and by far his most favoured being a plain white, long-sleeved shirt punctuated with a waistcoat (Usually on the darker side of the colour spectrum i.e Grays, Blues, Black) and a contrasting bow or tie (Reds, Pinks, Oranges, Light blues etc.) with straight trousers which, of course, match the colour of the waistcoat and black or brown winklepicker shoes. He rolls up the sleeves of his shirt neatly to his elbows and also sports fingerless leather gloves.
His second style is by far the more informal of the two and usually consists of slim-fit jeans or chinos of differing colours, usually pastels, accompanied by varying colours of polo shirts or plainly designed tees. His footwear for this style can be either plain coloured boat shoes, often matching the colour of his top, or vibrantly coloured Nikes, usually Air Max but he has more recently begun donning Roshe One's, without socks of course.
PersonalityInnate & Outward Personality:Fletcher is considered by most as inattentive. He is careless and easily distracted, often flitting from one thing to the next with minimal delay or hesitation. He struggles where organization is concerned and has trouble when following instructions or attempting to complete tasks. He never seems to be listening properly when directly spoken to or even particularly bothered in what other people have to say. He also daydreams quite often. Despite all of this, however, Fletcher is far from a nasty person. He doesn't intend to harm or annoy anyone with his actions and will often apologise for his lack of attention.
When he does focus, Fletcher is a force to be reckoned with. If there is a goal to complete, Fletcher is usually full steam ahead when it comes to completing it. The downside to this is that he will rarely deviate from his course of action and will quickly become demotivated when met by an obstacle that requires excessive thinking to overcome. He is quick to make acquaintances, becoming upbeat and excitable when meeting new people or going to new places. However, there are only a few he would call his true friends. Due to his careless nature, he is generally very trusting of others and often quite generous. Whether it's money or gifts, Fletch won't often hesitate to offer handouts to someone he has just met.
He is very much an easy lover. That is also down to his reckless nature. He simply doesn't invest time into relationships like he should and thus can only experience short-term flings before he grows bored or the other person grows annoyed by his gross lack of attention. He is a mediocre liar, and will at times attempt a harmless lie to try and shortcut through a conversation or situation that troubles him. When caught, however, he owns up and drastically changes, becoming too honest on some occasions.
When he is upset or angry, Fletcher becomes extremely aloof or distant. Woe betide anyone who attempts to speak with him, lest they are prepared to face a slew of cutting and sarcastic remarks. Fortunately, he never stays this way for long. Keeping in line with his carelessness, he can almost instantly switch from a bad mood to a good one if something new comes along to grab his attention. This is generally bad for Fletcher as he never gets the opportunity to fully express his feelings or emotions, which only build up causing him to become increasingly more irritable as time wears on. This is often climaxed by an explosion of negative emotion, usually anger, when his stored emotions have reached their peak. During this eruption of anger, Fletcher will verbally lash out at anyone close by until he exhausts himself. He may also strike out towards inanimate objects to vent his anger quicker. After this event, Fletcher is usually very apologetic but, much like everything else, this never lasts long.
Overall, Fletcher is great in small doses. He can be interesting and witty, some would go so far as to call him fun. But don't expect a great deal of commitment or attention from him. Because chances are, he's more likely to forget your name 10 minutes after meeting you.
Hobbies/Interests:Due to his extremely lacking attention span, Fletcher has never partaken in anything long enough for it to qualify as a hobby. He has a great interest in trying new things, however, once he starts something he will rarely ever finish it.
He shows great interest in low-budget, terri-bad martial arts movies. He invests a lot of time and money into expanding his vast collection. He also enjoys attempts at reenacting fight scenes from the movies, most noticeably (and rather catastrophically) scenes that involve a weapon of sorts. In the midst of his vivid daydreams, that generally include Jackie Chan and a bunch of random objects, Fletcher will grab the closest item and pretend to use it in a similar fashion. This quite often results in a lot of broken glass and flaring tempers.
He has an unhealthy obsession with Hip Hop music released during the 90's and the early 00's. This is seen as rather odd, given his dress sense and general personality but it isn't something that he openly admits to in conversation. That said, he will frequently listen to various artists such as DMX, N.W.A., M.O.P. & Wu Tang Clan at considerably high volumes.
Skills/Talents: Fletcher can understand Portuguese perfectly and, to some extent, Spanish as well. However, due to his severe lack of attention and motivation, he does not speak it as well as you might think, given that his mother is Portuguese and his father speaks it fluently. Still he knows enough to get by but rarely does he ever speak it unless his parents speak to him first.
He is a rather decent reader, which surprises most given his poor attention span. If a book grasps his wandering attention, however, Fletcher will happily spend all day reading. He sees books as one big daydream for him to enjoy. He just has trouble finding one thatâll keep him hooked.
He is naturally a good runner and a fast sprinter, being adept at both long and short distances. He trained for a little while during his high school years in track & field but like most things, he never followed it through.
During the two years readying himself to join the Academy, Fletcher underwent weekly classes in swordsmanship after it was discovered that he could summon illusionary weapons from inanimate objects. He also trained with the likes of axes and staffs though not to the same extent as swords. Despite these two years of training, he is by no means an expert when it comes to wielding weapons and doesn't show a lot of confidence when he fights.
Prized Possession:His most prized possession is a polished onyx stone. It was given to him one day by his Grandfather, who told him that gazing into it would tell him the future. Although he couldn't believe it at first, Fletcher has spent hours simply staring at the stone and reflecting on his current situations. Not long after his Grandfather passed away, Fletcher realized what he had meant by telling him the future. He noticed that the more he stared into the stone, the more he would consider the paths in life that were laid out in front of him. He would then be forced to consider which of those paths to take until he eventually chose an answer. This is what his Grandfather had meant by âtelling him the futureâ.

"Sorry, what were you saying?"
"I literally have no idea what we're talking about right now."
History/Bio:An only child, Fletcher was born and raised in Black Fall city by his parents who are both surgeons for a medical clinic designed specifically to deal with injuries of a Meta-Human nature. So he has grown up and been around Meta-Humans for his entire life, meaning that it was only a matter of time before his powers manifested themselves. For this reason, his parents kept a close eye on him. Not so much that he felt smothered but enough for them to be able to tell if anything out of the ordinary began to arise.
For the first sixteen years of his life, there was nothing. Unless you count his severe lack of attention and motivation towards life in general. Growing up, Fletcher was rather content to sit and let the world go by, a fact that often troubled his parents. They attempted to change him, sometimes even scolding him for being how he was, but nothing helped. Then, a few days shy of Christmas 2013, his power revealed itself. He was in a convenience store with a particularly troublesome friend who was attempting to shoplift and had brought Fletcher along to aid him. It wasn't long before his friend was spotted and the pair decided to run. Fortunately for the store owner, an officer was patrolling the street and heard the commotion caused by the boys. Immediately the officer gave chase and the boys ducked into an alleyway. They were met by a wire fence. His friend scaled it with ease, but Fletcher's lack of attentions caused him to trip over garbage bag from the overflowing dumpster.
Before he could get to his feet, the officer had him cornered. Fletcher was scared and had begun to actually think of the repercussions of being arrested. He panicked and, scrambling to his feet, he backed away from the officer. But as the officer took a step forward, he was met by someone who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere. The police officer looked confused as he stared at the newcomer. It took Fletcher longer to realize that the person stood in the way was actually him. Or rather, a clone of himself. It was then that he moved without thought. Turning quickly, he clambered over the wire fence, leaving the officer baffled.
The walk home was tiring and as he entered his home, Fletcher collapsed into his mother's arms, who had since heard of the shoplifting incident from a friend who lived in the neighborhood. He was exhausted and beginning to run a high fever from his first experience with his powers. He remained bed-ridden for the next three days.
Over the following two years, his parents prepared to enroll him in NESTs Academy Program. But first they would help him to explore his powers, just as if he were a recovering Meta-Human patient of theirs. On his 18th birthday, they told him that he had been accepted into Academy 218. Whilst his mother had wanted him to stay at home for much longer, his father was willing for him to leave so that he may discover the full extent of his powers.

RelationshipsTo Be addedAbilitiesPower Class:Cerebral
Power: Psychosomatic Illusion - Commonly misconstrued as magic, Fletcher's power is a mixture of Astral/Energy Projection, Pain Inducement and Sense Manipulation. Despite this he cannot manipulate a person's mind directly, only an area surrounding him (Currently 30m radius in all directions) or objects he comes into contact with, whereby whoever is located within range of his Illusions or touched by them will be affected. He creates these illusions through the use of Phantasmal Summons. These are both non-corporeal and corporeal summons that are bound to the radius of control, in which Fletcher can create and maneuver them.
- Phantasms - Fletcher can create up to three identical clones of himself at any one time. Each of them may move and act independently of each other but remain solely controlled by Fletch. These clones are commonly used to confuse and befuddle, generally masking which one of them is the real Fletcher by appearing directly in front someone to divert attention or directed attacks. However, they can also be utilized to deal damage towards an opponent during a fight. Whenever this occurs, the clones change to a purplish, ethereal form due to the energy that was once being projected into their appearance is now being focused into a physical state, which allows them the deal actual damage and inflict physical pain. These Phantasms can be summoned with weapons such as swords, greatswords, pistols or rifles though they are of the same energy that is being used to create each clone and thus, only become usable when the clones are attacking.
- Soulbound Weaponry - Fletcher can utilize random objects and summon weapons through them that alter their visual shape and physical dimensions. For instance, Fletch could pick up a broom and morph it into a war hammer or great axe. The object would still technically exist as a broom, however, a purplish ethereal form would cover the broom entirely in the shape of the desired weapon. That weapon could then be used as a normal weapon and be able to inflict the same amount of damage as any other weapon. Fletcher can summon up to three weapons at any one time.
Limits:Fletcher may currently only summon and maintain one Phantasm or Soulbound weapon at any one time.
Controlling three clones and maintaining three Soulbound weapons at the same time is very taxing on the mind. As such, Fletcher's movement is limited when three of any summons are up, including a mixture of the two (1 clone, 2 weapons). This factor is enhanced even more so when the clones are attacking, so much so that Fletcher has to stop moving completely.
The Soulbound Weapons are noticeably less durable than their real-world counterparts. As such, Fletcher may only dish out so many attacks with these weapons before they shatter, ending the summon. (4 hits or blocks per weapon)
Excessive summoning will cause extreme exertion of the mind and physically drain Fletcher. Due to this, Fletcher is limited to casting a maximum of six summons per post. Each summon uses large amounts of energy so Fletcher will grow increasing more tired during fights or in general. There is no way for Fletcher to increase this limit due to the severe risk of ashing.
Weaknesses/Drawbacks: When Fletcher summons a Phantasm, he also places a part of his consciousness into that clone. Doing so causes his senses to become dampened, his motor functions to decrease and he would generally react slower than usual. This effect would become more pronounced with each Phantasm summoned.
Additionally, when Phantasms are changed into their attacking state, they become vulnerable to damage and can be shattered after a number of hits (6). These hits can range from something as simple as a punch or kick to being struck by a car. Any physical damage still amounts to one hit. Energy, on the other hand, is significantly more damaging. Any Energy-based attack counts as two hits. Being struck by lightning or a fireball for instance would count here. Any hits that would be classed as more than an attack, such as an explosion, tidal wave or anything else on a similar scale would destroy the clone immediately. In the event that a Phantasm is shattered this way, Fletcher is instantly overcome by Mind Burn; A condition that renders him momentarily immobile and in severe pain. (1 post) Fully recovering from this condition may take as long as three posts. Also, if any other Phantasms are shattered during this period, the condition is amplified so that Fletcher could potentially succumb to a coma or, in the worst case, die.
When using the Soulbound Weaponry, if an opponent has a high enough willpower or is distracted by an outside source, they will be able to see through the illusion, meaning that they become completely immune to their attacks save for the damage caused by the real object.
