The main things I have in mind are that the Pyre Guards were killed during the DSM and their Gene-Seeds stolen by the Iron Warriors until they were later retrieved during a small skirmish between both Chapters. With the venerable Progenoid Glands back in the possession of the Salamanders, they ritually bestow one upon a single space marine who goes on to become a Chapter Champion of sorts until he dies, whereby the next gland is implanted to culture a new Champion and so on and so forth.

I also wanted to have him craft his own Artificer Armour, given that the Salamanders are the largest manufacturers of said armour. Plus the fact that the crafting of such esteemed power armour would have been a test of his blacksmithing skill, tantamount to proving his worth as the receiver of the Legendary Gene-Seed of a Pyre Guard.

Chapter Demeanor: 
Like all other Salamanders, Tsal remains an avid follower of The Promethean Cult. Prometheans, by which followers of the cult are usually referred, believe deeply in the virtues of self-reliance and self-sacrifice for others as well as the long defining cultural values of the Nocturnean people, who have struggled to survive the harsh environment of their volcanic and earthquake-wracked homeworld. They hold a firm belief in isolationism. This is the tenet of their faith that, only through spiritual meditation and exploration performed in isolation from others, can a person gain a true understanding of both themselves and how they can best honour the legacy of Vulkan whilst serving the will of the Emperor.  

Personal Demeanor: 
What kind of person is your character, what are their motivations etc, and how do they interact with others? Also please include any hatreds, grudges, and so on.

Specialty: 
Assault - Armed with his legendary Power Axe and distinguished Bolt Pistol, Tsal cuts a bloody swath through the frontlines of many foes. His greatest strengths lie in facing his enemies head-on and burying the edge of his weapon deep within their skulls. Severing of limbs and the odd evisceration are also included when Brother So'ken leads the assault. When the singing of his vicious blade pauses momentarily, the guttural bark of his bolt pistol fills the air, punctuating even more kills along his path of unrelenting destruction.

History:
Tsal So'ken remains the sole inheritor of the Progenoid Glands of Varrun; a member of the legendary Pyre Guard during the time of the Great Crusade and the start of the Horus Heresy. Originally thought to be lost during the Drop Site Massacre, the Gene-Seeds of the Pyre Guards were in fact retrieved and stolen by the traitorous Iron Warrior Legion Apothecaries.

It was several hundred years before the Seeds were re-discovered on board an Iron Warrior Legion Battle Barge during the 13th Black Crusade. 

Equipment and Armament:
The Flame Sunderer - A master-crafted Power Axe with a short haft and a double-edged blade locked away within the Hall of Relics upon Nocturne's moon Prometheus for many centuries. Until, of course, the Gene-Seed of its' original owner, Varrun; esteemed member of Primarch Vulkan's Pyre Guard, was to be implanted to create a new Adeptus Astartes. It is a weapon that has seen countless battles and has slain many more numbers of enemies. The hum of its' power field when activated appears to have dulled over the years, although in recent times it seems to be as strong as ever given its' more recent usage. Tsal So'ken did not inherit this exalted power weapon straight away. Only after he'd proven himself to Chapter Master Tu'Shan as a Salamander worthy of its' honor did he receive it. His worthiness only having been recently recognised after he was elevated to the ranks of the First Company Firedrakes.  

Phobos Pattern Bolt Pistol - Truly a weapon of brutally efficient execution. When Brother So'ken is not reaping the heads of Xenos with his Flame Sunderer, the veteran space marine effortlessly blasts through bone, brain matter and various other viscera with his Phobos Pattern Bolt Pistol. Although widely considered to be a relic from a bygone era, the Phobos still manages to wreck havoc and devastation in whichever direction it is fired.
