Ay, if you see me lurking on your profile, it's because there was drama on the status bar which I missed and I'm being nosey AF. Don't mind me.

There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of incredible RP ideas that are wasted every year, due simply to a poorly formatted Interest Check. Shit's gotta pop off the screen and punch you in the face!

Yo, I'm Kalas!

I'm actually less gone now than I have been for years. I've even joined a new RP, hoping it lasts!

Here are some Roleplay Ideas that I have attempted to run in the past but which ultimately failed because I'm a trash GM. If any one of these ideas interest you i.e. You'd like to assist me in running one or you'd fancy trying to run a game yourself, please do not hesitate to contact me first. I don't mind you taking inspiration but don't blatantly rip my shit off. P.S. I have several old threads archived, as well as PMs to myself, in order to stake my claim to these Roleplay ideas.

Yup, still here! I just got a new car and the Samsung Gear VR, so I've been a little pre-occupied.
Here are my answers before I sleep.

@KalasWell, I joined this game because Bot-Killing seemed to be the meat and potatoes of the game. The missions give me the impression that if I do things outside of those missions that it will be for nothing because it won't have a storyline or game-changing affect. I thought that the missions were the only scenarios where anything you would do would actually matter toward the game's overall plot.

Well I write the plot, so It's probably within my capabilities to figure something out and have it relatable to the plot. I get that you want your guy to be important to the plot, which is perfectly natural, but with an RP this populated, it's challenging to be able to cater for every single player. That said, I'm willing to help you out.

So let's continue to hash this out in a PM thread to save us cluttering up the OOC. Sound reasonable?
@Holy Soldier It's cool man, I understand.

It was never explicitly stated that you had to partake in the missions. If you'd like, you can embark on your own personal story mission and completely ignore everything else?

Additionally, if you need help coming up with ideas for said personal mission, sling me a PM and I'll be happy to help. That goes for anyone else too, I guess. :)
@KalasDoes this consequence affect me for having jumped on a mission that could potentially become neglected? Lol

Not at all, though it could affect the RP as a whole. It just depends on the severity of the mission.

Think of it like this:
- Plugging Leaks is a mission to prevent a second wave of KBots, who have recently breached into General Interest, from meeting up with the first wave, who have broken through from Free Interest.
- Let's say that the first wave is successfully repelled but the second isn't because that particular mission was neglected.
- The ramifications would be another wave of KBots to deal with and a breach to close, since we can't just magic them away, can we?

That said, however, these missions aren't "OMG YOU MUST DO THESE RIGHT NOW OR U DIE!" They're just there to give you guys minor goals to work towards in order to complete a larger goal i.e. The liberation of General Interest. Which is what you're all there to do right now, admittedly, but I think you're mistaking the pace of this RP.

I've written up the whole plot for this RP, sure, but in order to keep it from being too linear, we've decided to write up missions to give you guys some manner of freedom to either choose to do them or not. Who knows, maybe a certain mission sparks some inspiration in one of you and ends up spinning off from the original plot? That would be ideal for us since it saves us having to plough through the pre-written plot at breakneck speed.
@Holy Soldier

I think I mentioned this in the Skype chat, after Lucius had stated that they wouldn't likely be taking part in the missions, but I'll notice if and when a mission is being neglected. And, as a Co-Gm (& with the go ahead from Cynder), I'll make the decision to either have the mission played out as expected, or write up a new mission reacting to the failure of the neglected one.

Simply put, neglecting a mission will likely result in consequences that may take higher priority over other mission lines.

EDIT:

I'm also toying with the idea of not releasing new missions until the current ones are at least started. If a mission loses a member mid-playthrough, causing a serious delay, depending on the actions of the other members in that mission, I could either allow them to complete it or fail the mission.

I'm still ironing out the details though.
@Holy Soldier

I think you should read the mission brief again to be honest. Namely this part: "A new wave of KBots have broken through from the 1x1 Section." All of these missions take place in General Interest. And, like I said, I couldn't hurt to ask. But then the RP has only just started and not everyone has written up their posts yet. Patience is pretty much the only other thing I can suggest, unless of course you just fancy creating two more NPCs and soloing it. It's entirely up to you.
@Holy Soldier

Well, it's a Min. 5 people mission. So you're allowed to create 4 NPCs to fill the number requirement for it. I've used that system to make more plot critical missions solo-able, in the event that not enough people are interested. Like in this current instance. Besides, you might just need to be patient and wait to see if anyone else would be interested in helping you out. Asking the question wouldn't hurt, would it?

These current missions, by the way, are tailored toward defending and clearing General Interest so that we might eventually move along the plot. :) The quicker they're done, the quicker we move along. But that's not a pass to rush it in a few posts, just bear that in mind. ;)
So who decides who starts a mission? Do you have to have the minimum amount of people in order to start a mission?

Well yeah you kinda have to have the minimum amount, otherwise I wouldn't haven't stated a minimum amount. It was to ensure interaction between you guys whilst striving towards a common goal.

As for the one who starts a mission, it's whoever posts it first. Hopefully those of you who have chosen to do a mission are able to figure that out between yourselves.
