There are many classes of ship as well as Sky and Sea-based craft that sail around the world. Generally, there are five main classes of ship for both Sky and Sea craft.
SKY SHIPS
They can range from massive flying fortresses to small-scale fighter craft. They are powered by Light Crystals and are used for all manner of tasks such as trade, logistics and piracy. They come in five classes:
- Phantom-Class: Heavy, Battle-Purposed Capital Ships. They certainly pack one of the hardest punches and are definitely the most armoured class. These ships are a refinement of the original Sky-Barge that were built to battle against Atlaias. Once airborne, they never make port again, requiring the need for smaller transport ships to deliver supplies and resources. Very deadly against Geists and Spectres. Can stand toe-to-toe with a Wraith but may not survive due to low speed and low rate of fire. They carry the most amount of fighter craft, being able to unleash a full amount of twenty-five fighters. There are only five Phantom-Class ships in existence and each one is uniquely different to the others in design, having been personally designed by Archivist Cagen.
- Wraith-Class: A heavy warship built for combat. Several cannons and armor plating helps keep them in the air. They can easily dish out the most damage per second, due to their high-powered cannons and higher rate of fire than Phantoms. However, they are slow when compared to Spectres and Geists. This doesn't stop them from being very deadly against all other classes, however. They can carry up to fifteen fighters to deploy at once during battle.
- Geist-Class: Fast, lightly armored ships. It can potentially match the Wraith in damage output, depending on the armaments fitted. However, their light armour means they wouldn't stand a chance in a prolonged engagement. They are the most popular Ship Class in production, being a considerable amount cheaper to construct and are particularly deadly against Spectres. They can carry up to fifteen fighters to deploy at once during battle.
- Spectre-Class: Light, fast, support ships. The Spectre was built so the Factions could quickly send support ships to aid transports or turn the tide of a battle. They are lightly armoured for manoeuvrability and are most deadly against Geists and Phantoms. They can only carry five fighters into battle due to their need for being fast.
- Sylph-Class: Extremely light, supremely fast fighter-craft. They are deployed during air battles to cause havoc and chaos as well as attacking specific points of an airship. If left unnoticed, they can quickly strip larger ships of armour and weapons and specifically target personnel on the upper decks.
Here you can see the four main classes of Sky Ship. The two largest are Phantoms, the next largest are Wraiths and Geists and the smallest ships are Spectres. NAVY SHIPS
The Navy Ships are essentially just seafaring equivalents of Sky Ships in both size and battle capability. The five classes are: Victory-Class; Destroyer-Class; Halcyon-Class; and Corvette-Class. The fighter-craft are the same Sylph-Class ships as they can be launched from both Navy and Sky Ships.
SUBCLASSES/HYBRIDS & VARIANTS
There are a few Sub-Class Ships that perform specific roles during battle. These are as follows:
- Shade-Class: A Subclass of the Spectre. A Shade-Class ship has been retrofitted specifically for stealth. It utilizes its light weight and speed to escape most situations, although it does possess some very powerful Crystal Mines that can be used somewhat offensively or defensively. The stealth technology invented for these ships makes extensive use of the crystal shell that makes up most of the Light Crystals. Special Crystal-plating has been used to coat the ship which can reflect and in some case refract light, making the Shade difficult to spot.
- Vigor-Class: A Subclass of the Spectre. A Vigor-Class ship is built a little larger than a normal Spectre and comes more heavily armoured. In fact, its armour rating is on par with that of a Wraith-Class ship. However, Vigor-Class ships are used solely for transportation. There are two main variants of a Vigor-Class; Personnel and Cargo. Aptly named Vigor-Class-P & Vigor-Class-C. They are easily piloted and are by far the most highly produced ship in the world. Due to their integral role in assisting Phantom-Classes, many opponents will often try to take out any Vigor-Class ships that might be in the vicinity.
There is only one known Hybrid-Class in the world:
- Nephesh-Class: A Hybrid between a Wraith-Class and a Geist-Class. When the ship classes were originally designed, the Nephesh-Class was actually supposed to take the place of the Wraiths and Geists. However, the special resources required to create the perfect balance between the classes made it impossible for the Nephesh-Class to be mass produced. As such only one ship was ever constructed as a prototype; The
Ocean Horizon.SHIP WEAPONRY
These different ship armaments utilise much larger Light Crystals as energy batteries. Each type of weapon is specially designed to project the raw light energy in various ways.
- Rail-Cannons are your long-range batteries, usually found on Wraiths or Phantoms. They have a very large radius but are at their most powerful at full range. They take up a lot of energy when fired and require at least 2-3 minutes to charge. An average Light Crystal will only produce four shots before needing to be replaced.
- Buckshot-Cannons are short-range, powerful cannons that are good for wide-spread destruction. They are usually found on Wraiths, Geists or Phantoms. They have a very short range and are at their most powerful when fired up close and personal. They use massive amounts of energy so an average Light Crystal will produce only two shots before needing to be reloaded.
- Repeater-Cannons are your mid-range automatic cannons. They are found on all classes but in various sizes:
Points - The smallest size Repeater, found exclusively on Phantoms for point defense against fighter-craft. (200 shots)
Facers - The next size up, found exclusively on Spectres. Usually at the front, hence the name. (100 shots)
Spinners - Found on Spectres, Wraiths and Geists. They are called spinners because they can rotate 360 degrees. (80 shots)
Boomers - The largest size Repeater, found exclusively on Phantoms. These are semi-automatic cannons because they create a lot of force when fired. (20 Shots)
- Crystal Mines are overloaded Light Crystals exclusive to Shades. These create large explosions when hit that can potentially cripple Phantoms. A Shades can only carry five of these, max.
