Fate/Crimson Dusk

Moving through the halls of the Clocktower at a hurried pace just short of a jog, Dieter Voigt made his way towards the head master’s office. He was running later than he has anticipated, something that he was very aware of with each passing second, but he also did not want to cause a scene by sprinting through the halls when classes were still in session; turning another corner he increased his pace, knowing that his destination was nearby.

It had been some years since he had last walked these corridors, not since he had still been a student, but they were familiar nonetheless and he needed no guidance to bring him to where he needed to be. He paused outside the head master’s office to rearrange his clothes and hair as well as to catch his breath, taking the time to make himself look presentable before he knocked on the door, opened it and walked in; he was already late after all, they were expecting him and he could hear voices on the other side.

Once inside he quickly glanced around the room, taking in the six figures already standing or sitting around the room. One his recognised as Director Archibald but the rest were strangers; others like himself perhaps. Ducking his head he stepped fully into the room and closed the door behind him. “Ich entschuldige mich.”

Correcting himself, Dieter repeated himself in English. “I apologise for my lateness.” It had been many years since he had last visited the Clocktower, and as many years since he had last spoken to his father in person. Before coming to this meeting he had taken the time to meet the man in person, to catch up and also to collect the catalyst that his father had prepared for him. He shifted the box he held in his arms to prevent it from slipping; inside was a fragment of the Trojan Horse, a relic of the Achaean expedition to reclaim Helen from Paris, the son of King Priam of Troy. The Trojan War was a battleground for many legendary heroes; whatever Servant answered his summons, with a catalyst such as this they were sure to be powerful.

His meeting with his father had lasted longer than he had expected, which was not a suitable excuse, but it led to his lateness here. Hopefully, he had not missed too much.

@Weird Tales my biggest worry right now is how we are going to handle a many-on-one fight against Raditz and any other fight in the future. Even if the other spars continue it's looking like we're going to have Taeto, Momo, Gyun, Piccolo and Alex all fighting Raditz at the same time.

If we all try and post attacks against him at once we're going to end up tripping over each others feet and each Raditz post is going to start with him having to react to five separate attack posts, which would get a little hard to handle I bet. Maybe the better option would be to let everyone have limited control of Raditz once it gets to that point; people can post reactions from Raditz to their attacks, whether he dodged, blocked, countered or was hit for example, with Weird still handling the big Raditz posts for victorious gloating and big attacks.

Personality: A shy and studious individual Dieter is the type of person who likes to keep to himself and dedicates most of his time and effort to his work. Soft spoken and unsure of himself, he does not do well in social situations as he greatly lacks in self-confidence when pulled out of his comfort zone or when asked to deal with something outside of his area of expertise. That being said he is still a very accomplished Magus in his own right and has an almost unparalleled knowledge of alchemy due to his family’s specialisation.

Despite his lack of self-confidence, he does have faith in his own abilities and considers himself a competent Magus. That being said, he doubts how useful he could be in something like the Grail War, since he has never considered trying to turn his magecraft towards fighting before and magical combat has never been something he has tried to learn. As such he is grateful that he managed to summon such a strong Servant for the war as it means he will not be as much of a burden on his fellow Magus’ as he feared, but at the same time realises that this also means he will have more pressure put on him and his Servant as a result.

Although he agreed to answer the call when the Mages Association asked him to become a Master, he did so reluctantly and has no real desire to obtain the Grail outside of a vague interest in obtaining the root that most Magus probably share to some degree; if anything, he is scared of any object that holds as much power as a completed Grail and does not think either side should gain possession of it.

Biography: Hailing from the city of Stuttgart in Germany the Voigt’s are a small family of little renown but well respected in Western Europe for their knowledge of the alchemical arts if nothing else. In the past the Voigt family have always been staunch traditionalists who seem to actively shun the notions of cooperation or of sharing knowledge and as such they do not have much interaction with the wider Magus community, having loose ties to the Mages Association but otherwise keeping to themselves and also keeping the advancements of their magecraft hidden.

Recently this has begun to change and the family has made efforts to better integrate with their fellow Magus; in fact the past two generations of Voigt, Dieter and his father, have even attended the Clock Tower as students and, in Dieter’s fathers case, later a teacher. As for Dieter, after completing his studies in England he moved back to Stuttgart. As the sole heir to the Voigt name he is the next family head and is already in possession of his family’s Magic Crest, it is only right that he establish his workshop in the family home while his father continues his teaching in England.

The Mages Association originally approached Dieter’s father about joining the expedition to Poland, as he was known to them and his skill in alchemy deemed useful, but he refused them. Instead he recommended his son in his place, stating that as the family head it should fall on Dieter’s shoulders to do this, as well as expressing his assurances that the his son was just as capable an alchemist as he, if not more so.

Magecraft Section:
School of Magecraft:
Dieter’s family have always specialised in the study of Alchemy, an art they have practised for the past 400 years. Being somewhat traditional, they tend to limit their magecraft to the act of changing matter from one form to another; they seek not to revolutionise or invent new magecraft, but rather to refine and improve on the basics and as such are some of the best in the world, certainly some of the best in Europe, when it comes to alchemy of this type.

In particular Dieter is very skilled at changing the current state of a matter from one to another, e.g. turn a liquid into a solid or a solid into a gas instantly, as well as the matter transformations that all alchemist of his family are adept with.

Additionally, Dieter has an affinity for the wind element and had a little skill at manipulating and generating air currents.

Skills/Spells List:

Phase Transition (20 times) – A catch all spell which allows Dieter to instantly change an inorganic object from one state to another instantly. This can take one of eight forms matching the different kinds of state transitions that Dieter can produce; Sublimation, Deposition, Liquefaction, Freezing, Vaporisation, Condensation, Ionisation and Deionisation. This spell allows Dieter to change matter to a state that it would not normally be able to exist at in those conditions, e.g. change water to ice despite it being above freezing temperature.

Matter Transform (10 times) – The most basic principle of alchemy. Allows Dieter to change the elemental composition of an inorganic object to something else entirely, so long as this does not also require changing the state of the element.

Wind Current Change (5 times) – Manipulate the movements of the air in the surrounding environment.

Rider Diomedes

Bio: Diomedes was born to Tydeus and Deipyle, an Aetolian and an Argive respectively, and he was descended from royalty on both sides of his family; his father was the only son of Oeneus, King of Calydon, while his maternal grandfather Adrastus was the King of Argos, whom he later succeeded.

Tydeus died while Diomedes was still very young, having taken part in an unsuccessful attempt to conquer Thebes along with six other champions who were collectively known as the Seven Against Thebes. At his father’s funeral Diomede vowed alongside the children of the other champions to vanquish Thebes in order to avenge their fathers. They were called "the Epigoni" because they were born "after everything has happened". Ten years later the Epigoni set out to launch another expedition against Thebes, one that was ultimately successful. Having achieved their objective, the Epigoni returned home, but not before they installed the son of the instigator of the first Theban expedition as the city's new ruler.

Returning home Diomedes found that his grandfather had died of grief upon learning that his son Aegialeus, one of the Epigoni, had perished in the battle; as such, Diomedes was left as the last of Adrastus' male descendants. That being so, upon returning home to Argos, Diomedes ascended to the throne. In order to secure his grasp on the throne, Diomedes married Aegialeus' daughter, Princess Aegialia.

In later years Diomedes became one of the suitors of Helen and, as such, he was bound by the oath of Tyndareus, which established that all the suitors would defend and protect the man who was chosen as Helen's husband against any wrong done against him in regard to his marriage. Accordingly, when the Trojan prince Paris stole Menelaus' wife, all those who had sworn the oath were summoned by Agamemnon (Menelaus’ brother), so that they would join the coalition that was to sail from Aulis to Troy in order to retrieve Helen and the Spartan property that was stolen.

Diomedes entered the Trojan war with a fleet of 80 ships, the third largest fleet in the war after Agamemnon’s and Nestor’s. Although he was the youngest of the Achaean Kings Diomedes was considered the most experience leader by many, having fought in more battles than any other including the assault on Thebes, at that point the most important war expedition prior to the expedition to Troy. He was also considered to be one of the mightiest and most skilled warriors among the Achaeans, second only to Achilles and on par with Telamonian Ajax. He and Odysseus were the only Achaean heroes who participated in covert military operations that demanded discipline, bravery, courage, cunning, and resourcefulness.

The favourite warrior of Athena, he was also the only hero except Heracles, son of Zeus, that attacked - and even wounded - Olympian gods, most notably Ares, whom he struck with his spear. Once, he was even granted divine vision in order to identify immortals.

Apart from his outstanding fighting abilities and courage, Diomedes is on several crucial occasions shown to possess great wisdom, which is acknowledged and respected by his much older comrades, including Agamemnon and Nestor. Diomedes, Nestor and Odysseus were some of the greatest Achaean strategists. Throughout the Iliad, Diomedes and Nestor are frequently seen speaking first in war-counsel.

Unlike many Diomedes survived the Trojan war and managed to return home, whereas many other Achaean leaders were assailed with troubles on their return as punishment from the Gods. However, he did not escape the war completely unscathed, as upon returning home he found that while he was away at war his wife had taken on a lover and he was prevented from entering the city; this was punishment from Aphrodite who had not forgiven him for wounding her during the war.

Goddesses Favour (Athena) EX: Diomedes was Athena’s chosen champion. She aided him many times during the Trojan War, even driving his chariot for him in a charge against her rival Ares, and at times was able to count on and receive her blessed even when he did not request it. This skill activates during times of dire need and temporarily grants Rider the skill “Protection of the Goddess” at rank A; at this level the skill offers Diomedes protection from his enemies and guides his weapons to strike true almost as if Athena herself was diverting attacks or guiding his hand, as well as restoring his Luck stat to its true value of B and further boosting it to A.

@King Cosmos collabs are great but didn’t think it’d be worth it for the pace we are going now. Maybe things could change further down the line. Either way, a bit of give and take is how I tend to roll with it. Give a few hits and take a few hits, not dodge every single one.

No, that's fine. These are only small sparring matches so there should be no need for a collab at this point, and for all their benefits collabs can also slow the RP down a lot if two or more people are caught up in doing that rather than posting. I just don't really like auto-hitting in fights, not just because someone can abuse it or because I don't want to see my character get hurt, but because it takes away your agency to determine how the scene is going and can mess up your plans. I realise it's only for basic attacks and not special moves, but still.

I'll likely never use auto-hitting when Alex fights another PC, it's just what I'm used to when I write to not say whether an attack hit or not, but I've been in that position where you're the only one whose attacks get dodged and its frustrating. Scripting a fight makes things generally go smoother, not that I expect everyone to plan out every attack ahead of time, but something as simple as deciding whose going to win beforehand or laying out the basic flow that the fight is going to take; it ensures that your not both working from different scripts and both trying to write a version of the fight where you win.

Raditz is getting beat on though.

This is when scripting fights and collaborative posts are useful. It's also why auto-hitting doesn't work out most of the time; things get confusing quickly when someone tries to dodge/block/counter a hit that has already been stated to have hit.
