Cyrus could barely sleep after he got home. He spent the night tossing and turning. The times he was able to actually sleep he was plagued by terrors of the nightmarish werewolf from the woods and the bisected body of Laura Hale, but in the final dream of the night her body was replaced with his, fearing that the werewolf would come back for him and finish the job. He awoke in sweats, his sheets covered in it. Cyrus slipped out of bed and took his sheets and cover off and threw them in the corner of his room. He'd wash them later. He didn't want his mom asking him any questions. He went to the bathroom to take a shower and begin his morning routine. He sent Ronnie a good morning and happy first day of school text even though it felt anything but. He noticed that his bite was mostly healed, though it kind of looked infected. That's what worried him. If he was infected by a werewolf bite and wasn't feeling sick or like he had rabies then he was going to become one. He was one...

Cyrus decided to wear a Nike Sweatsuit to hide his bite from his mom and anyone at school. The last thing he needed was for his mom knowing he was out there in the woods last night or coach telling him to sit things out until he gets his bite looked at.

"You look like you were hit by a truck." Tara said to her son as he walked into the kitchen. She almost spit her coffee out when she saw him.

Cyrus gave her a sarcastic smile. "Couldn't sleep. Excited for today. Scott's trying for first line this year and Ronnie's going for Captain of the Archery Club." Cyrus was quick with his lies. Growing up with a cop for a mom had him learn fast that the best lies held truths.

"Looks like the crew's leveling up." Tara replied. "That must be why Stiles felt the need to investigate in the woods alone last night."

"I told him not to, but I knew he wouldn't listen. I should've still gone to make sure he was safe." Cyrus replied without losing a beat.

"Hmm. He was safe alright. We made sure he left as soon as we found him. Just in case you didn't listen last night I don't want you and your friends out in the woods or really out late until we figure out what's going on."

Cyrus paused for a moment to think. He hated hiding what he knew from his mom. Would withholding this information put his mom and Stiles's dad in danger? Or would telling them? "Mom, you remember the Hales?"

"Yeah. Laura was an amazing babysitter. It's a shame what happened to their family. Actually, it's strange you ask. Her brother, Derek, is back in town. I shouldn't be telling you this, but I know you and Stiles are going to figure it out anyway and I rather you hear it from me. He came to the station last night saying that he believes the woman we found was Laura. We still haven't been able to confirm that yet."

Cyrus could confirm it, but he wouldn't. It sounds like they didn't find the half he and Scott found yet. His feelings from last night started to show on his face again. "Be careful, mom. Stiles told me he heard a wolf last night near where you found him."

"Huh. That's strange. California hasn't had wolves in years. Must be a group migrating." Tara said. "But yeah, I'll be safe. You be safe too, sweetie. I'll see you later. I have to go back into work." She rushed over to kiss him on the forehead. "And get some sleep tonight. Tell Ronnie I said hi and good luck." She then sprinted out of the door leaving Cyrus alone with his thoughts.

"Earth to Cyrus. It's your girlfriend speaking." Ronnie said trying to get her boyfriend's attention. He was way too lost in thought and she didn't understand how he was able to drive without issue.

Cyrus snapped to his senses. "Oh, I'm sorry, Ronnie. I just have a lot on my mind. Something happened last night."

Veronica was starting to get concerned. Both of her parents told her to stay home and especially away from the woods last night. She knew her mom must've been telling her for supernatural reasons, but she didn't understand how her dad knew anything. "Let me guess. You and Stiles heard something on dispatch and went to investigate."

Cyrus turned his head in surprise before turning a bit to keep focused on the road. "I'd ask how you knew, but you know me. Scott was with us, too. But Stiles got caught and Scott and I... You know the Hales, right?"

The Hales? She knew that the Hales were more than the community knew. She learned it during her training and how her family was connected to them. They were werewolves and they were their druids. Cyrus and the others investigating, Cyrus asking about the Hales, and her mom's warning together formed one conclusion. Werewolves were back in Beacon Hills. "Yeah." She finally answered. "Everyone from Beacon Hills knows about them and their tragedy. Why?"

Cyrus was nervous. He trusted Ronnie with his life, but he wasn't sure if she'd believe what he was about to say. "Laura Hale used to babysit me so I'd recognize her anywhere. Scott and I found her body last night. I... Ronnie, I think she was killed by a werewolf."

And there it was. Her confirmation. "A werewolf? Cyrus... I'm not doubting you, but are you sure?"

"I'm sure. It bit my leg and it stared me right in the eyes. I'll never forget that red glow." Cyrus said clenching up around the wheel.

"It... Pull over. Cyrus, please pull over." Ronnie pleaded with worry in her eyes, not for herself but for him.

Cyrus did as she asked and pulled over and placed the car in park. As soon as he did Ronnie unbuckled herself and began to examine him. She checked his forehead for a temperature and looked into his eyes and mouth. She placed her ear against his chest. His heartbeat was faster than normal, but he wasn't experiencing any other symptoms. "So, am I good, doc?"

"Well, you're not dead. So that's a good sign. Maybe."

"Maybe?"

"Cyrus, you might become a werewolf and if you do there's something I need to tell you. I come from a family of Druids. My mom, my aunt, and my uncle. I'm one, too."

"Wait. Your uncle? Scott's boss?"

"Yes, but you don't seem all that surprised that I'm a Druid."

"I've always felt you were magical." Cyrus said, looking into her eyes. She was the best thing that's happened to him and if she was a Druid and he was a werewolf or whatever he was glad that he had her to help him through this. He was worried that she'd leave him or hunt him with the police or something. He felt a serious weight off of his shoulder.

Ronnie couldn't help but to kiss Cyrus after that. She was concerned deeply for him, but he seemed like her same old Cyrus. No extra aggression, no fangs, no nothing. "I don't know how my mom will feel about me dating a werewolf, but I'll talk to my uncle after school. Speaking of, did Scott get bit as well?"

Cyrus forgot that Scott was also bitten last night. He hadn't even heard from him yet this morning. His eyes widened in realization. "He did. We need to get to school."

Cyrus and Ronnie arrived at school and parked in student parking. When they caught up to Stiles and Scott they were already talking about last night.

"Scott was just telling me how you two got bit last night. Not fair that you two get matching scars and I get grounded." Stiles said when Cyrus and Ronnie approached them.

"Thanks again for falling on the sword for us. But you're actually not going to believe what bit us." Cyrus said while leaning in to keep it between them.

"Scott was already telling me it was a wolf which I was telling him was impossible."

"You're right, because it was a werewolf." Cyrus said with a victorious tone.

"Oh, come on!!!" Stiles exclaimed, catching everyone's attention. "Oh, come on..." He said in a whisper. "You both become werewolves and I'm stuck as your human friend. It's already enough you two are gonna be on the starting line while I'm on the bench. I bet even Ronnie got bit."

Cyrus and Ronnie hated seeing their friend defeated like this. "No. I'm still same old Ronnie." She said trying to comfort him for now. She'd tell him the truth later when they weren't surrounded by a bunch of people.

"And we're all making first line this year. You're not the bench guy anymore, Stiles."

"Yeah, yeah. We'll see. Anyway, homeroom's about to start and I don't need my dad getting a call this early. I'm saving that for gym."

The quartet headed inside the school to begin their new year at Beacon Hills High School.

I figure we kind of have enough going on character wise without the OG protags. Especially since we never gave them a proper intro.

Started a collab with Daxam.

You're right. I figured out a way to make it work so for the time being Alias is the Riku of the story. This'll make the tournament arc more interesting. A reunion just before he leaves again.
<Snipped quote by King Kindred>

I referenced Sora and Riku on DI. Mostly for the Easter Egg. My hooded guy doesn't become a major factor until we reach the Org stuff down the line.

I figured one of our characters would slot in for Riku though.

I thought so at first as well, but everyone's paired off with good influences to be manipulated by Maleficent or anyone else. The closest one would be Alias but Max and Daisy are otw to him. But they could miss him and he ends up on a dark path after losing Alice and already believing he lost his friends.
So I am of the opinion that it would do us well to consider establishing our main antagonist (or a significant proxy thereof) soon.

We still have Ansem, SOD in play. Though he doesn't currently have a host. Though I recall someone hinting at Riku and Sora still living in Destiny Islands. Riku would have a different motivation here, possibly saving Sora, and ends up possessed by SOD. I know you still have your cloaked figure in play, but you don't really plan on him staying on the side of the antagonists for long, right?
@mattmanganon I don't think they would be accepting of her having a big demon mask even as a descendant. Especially with their world being lost to darkness they'd want to hold onto and keep her safe if they saw the mask. I figured she'd hide it feeling that they wouldn't approve of it regardless of her origins and probably would remain in human form so they didn't think she was one of their family. Though I disagree that being one of the original pups would stop her from being adventurous as Patch in the sequel was one and it's one of his defining characteristics and Lucky was arrogant.

But no, this isn't me trying to pull a rug from under you. I just wanted to make sure things were less confusing and convoluted. But if it's not confusing for @Eviledd1984 I don't mind either history.
Nightmare's Dimension

"How'd you know what I was up to?" Nightmare hissed.

"Those like you always try to take advantage of the holiday. I stay on alert and you made the stupid of decision of coming to my home city." Doctor Strange responded before pointing to Nightmare's wrists.

Nightmare looked to see magical ropes tying his wrist to the ground. "You think your parlor tricks have any power in MY DOMAIN?" He pulled forward trying to remove the ropes from the ground, but found they were a bit sturdier than he believed. No matter. The air around the ropes turned corrosive melting away at the magic.

Strange raised his eye, impressed. This was going to be a fun fight at least. "How about a taste of your own medicine then?" He did a series of complex and strange movements with his hands transforming the world around them. The world was darkness and Strange disappeared into the abyss. Nightmare was left alone. The faint glow of his green clothes providing him the tiniest of light. "You hate to be alone, don't you?" Strange's voice echoed. "That's why you find yourself invading the dreams of others. Not to torment them, but to experience and steal what you'll never have. Joy. Love. Companionship. You don't even have a single friend. No wonder you hate those who can find hope in the worst moments. You want to snuff it out so they can feel like you, but I won't let you do that to those kids."

"Shut up!" Nightmare yelled out to no one and nothing. "You don't know me, Strange. All I do is show them the truth. The truth they know deep down inside."

"Is that not what I'm doing to you? Next I'm going to trap you here. You won't leave this realm, this darkness, ever again. I invoke the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak and the Chains of Krakkan."

"No!!! You can't do this!!! This isn't fair! This is my victory!" Suddenly red bands of fabric appeared out of nowhere and wrapped itself around Nightmare's body and even covered his mouth so he wouldn't be able to speak his way out of this. Before he could react to this chains erupted from the floor to wrap around him and chain him to the floor of his realm. He was forced to his knees unable to say or do anything, but squirm.

A portal opened in front of him. He tried to move towards it, but suddenly he heard a laugh. Doctor Strange appeared in front of Nightmare and knelt in front of him. "Goodbye, Nightmare." He stood up and was about to exit through the portal when he felt someone else's presence here. He changed the portal's destination and stepped through to find himself in another one of Nightmare's nightmares. The world was in ruins. The only sign of life left was a young boy. He was in the fetal position, seemingly losing all hope and strength to fight.

Strange approached him and placed his hand on his shoulder. "Son, it's okay." Alex was startled and tried to scurry away, but realized this man wasn't Nightmare. "I'm sorry I didn't come sooner. He seems to have done a number on you. I'm going to get you out of here, but you're going to have to fight for your body back."

The group was still recovering in the living room and waiting for Doctor Strange when Alex suddenly groaned in pain. Nico turned to check on him. "Are you okay?" She asked, never seeing him like this before.

"I'm... fine." He muttered as he held his stomach.

"You don't look fine." Molly replied. "You look sick."

"Do Gibborim even get sick?" Caty asked.

"They don't." Nathan said, alarmed and jumping to defense, the others joining as well. Nico was confused, but stepped back. "Alex?"

Before anyone could answer her a portal opened in the center of the room with Stephen Strange exiting. "That's not Alex." He proclaimed while throwing Alex's astral form into his body. Nightmare Alex yelled in pain before collapsing to the floor. Nico ran up to him and tried to touch him, but he was scolding hot.

"What's wrong with him!?" She asked.

"Nightmare took over his body and left his spirit in his Nightmare Realm. They're fighting for control right now. It might take a while." Strange answered, but as soon as he finished Alex stood up and expelled a green gas. "Or not." Strange said while conjuring up a magic vacuum to suck up all of the gas. He created another portal before tossing the vacuum inside and closing the portal behind it.

Alex and Nico embraced each other, Caty and Karolina did the same. They couldn't believe the night they had and how they almost lost Alex. Caty approached Stephen Strange and hugged him. Strange was... confused. He held his arms up. "Please. This is absolutely not necessary."

"No, it absolutely is." Caty said before letting him go. "You saved our lives. And I... I let my guard down. I should've known better. I thought for one Halloween it'd be okay. But not again." She turned to Karolina. "I'm sorry, Lucy. The city needs Spider-Woman tonight."

Strange shook his head. "No. I'll continue to keep watch tonight. You kids go and have fun. You've earned it. You saved the world twice in one day after all and New York plenty of times. They'll be okay without you for one night."

"Thank you, Doctor Strange." Caty said. "You should meet my son and his girlfriend, she's a witch, but sweet. They're Avengers."

Strange was very confused until she said they were Avengers. So she created the Vision and he was dating the Scarlet Witch. Maybe it was time for him to join the Avengers. Nico and Alex then approached him. "Thank you for saving, Alex. I wasn't able to. I didn't even realize he wasn't Alex. I would have eventually, but I need to get stronger. I need to be able to protect my friends. Can we be your students?"

Strange wasn't planning on ever taking on any students, but the idea intrigued him. "Fine. You start tomorrow."

"Actually..." Alex started. "We were hoping to start tonight."

Third Distsrict against Guard Armor. Figured we could stage a Heartless swarm to build up.

You're good to start it.

Also with the talk of worlds and timelines, Hoshi can return to The Kingdom of the Sun and end up in Kuzco's New School.
@mattmanganon Sorry and sorry everyone, today was busy and distracting irl. I'm glad y'all were able to come up with a solution for the Merlin confusion.

I think I found a solution. I agree different timelines for worlds and time moving differently in each one can be a thing. I was thinking that for Star Wars with its many series and movies. But for Dotty there's a way to preserve her innocence before the family loses their world and ends up in Traverse Town. Like you said, you want her to end up being hit with reality later. What if she left and went on her adventure before that happened to her family? Now she's hit with the realization that because she wasn't there to protect her family with the power she has, they lost their world and were scattered across others a la Spider-Man. And with Cruella de Ville you could say she's one of P&P's actual babies, but wasn't taken when the others were. She didn't understand what happened at the time besides gaining many more siblings. But now that she's a little older she does.
@King Kindred Gonna be honest, if you'd have asked me that before i started on the whole Poodlewolf thing, i would have been absolutely fine, probably pivotted that into Thunder worship, but i've kinda gone into it now and changing it now would necessitate a LOT of rewrites, based on the fact that Poodlewolf is a parody of 1990's/2000's pop culture whereas OG are characters from the 1930's.

It doesn't require all of that. The simple solution is to have 101 Dalmatians be in the 90s since that's when it was re-introduced to a new generation and the series came out.
@Sadu

Is Merlin at his home or is he some place else.

He's at home in a hidden room up the stairs.

@mattmanganon Also, to make things less confusing and remain in line with the game, movie, and Taivas's conversation with Pongo and Perdita, do you mind having Dotty just be one of the original missing 99?
