Ed Penior

Location: Escaping Space Jail
Skills: Thamaturgy: Shield

Ed felt like a sack of potatoes as Rocket and then Bethany failed to figure out how to fly the ship they were trying to escape in. "Please explain how part of your plan was getting into something you didn't know how to control?" Ed asked, his face looking pale and pained. His healing magic was working. If Klara hadn't relieved some of the pain earlier he was pretty certain he would have passed out by now. He definitely wouldn't be able to keep the shield up around their "escape pod".

At least Guin seemed to have a handle on the controls. He sank down onto the floor letting go of Annie. If he hadn't been using her to steady himself he would have certainly fallen over during Rocket and Bethany's attempts to fly. He looked up at Runa, "You'd think the group of space faring people who have previously broken out of the space prison would know how to fly the ship.

Her name being shortened to Thunder didn't bother her. It rolled better off the tongue so she didn't blame the crowd. She caught the chunk of meteorite from Magneto and looked at it. Havok threw his and stormed off the stage. Andy figured he was annoyed at both Max and the situation. It seemed no one in the group except Sunshine was happy. Everyone was bristling against this place. She looked over the Quiet Council and then gave a nod. She didn't look at Selene twice or notice the similarities between their faces.

Andy noticed that Zari was looking at the meteorite and something else and she stepped over to her. "Everything okay?" She asked. Hoping that whatever had caught Zari's attention wasn't something that was going to try to kill them. Though it would be nice to have something to punch.

Niah's hand went to her neck. She had put a new necklace on. It wasn't the same as the one that had once held her ashes. But she was happy that her sister was alive. She'd rather have that than the small comfort the necklace had once given her. She could only watch the screens and alert the group if anyone was coming near the Oval office.

She saw the Vice President, Ricky Goldsmith, walking with several Secret Service agents. She watched him for a little bit. They didn't move. Stood there chatting. They were the closest to the Oval Office. If they heard anything and were alerted the Agents might head back to the office and that'd ruin the whole mission.

Location: Inside the White House: Washington D.C.
Skills: Hand-to-Hand; Paralysis Inducement

His guard went down and wasn't get back up. And wasn't turning green. Hopefully, Matt hadn't just killed a human. He knelt down to check if the guy had a pulse. Matt knew he wouldn't feel bad for taking out a Skrull, but if this was just some poor Secret Service guy who didn't know his President had been kidnapped by aliens Matt would feel bad about killing the dude. He had a pulse. Matt sighed a little relieved. "This guy is still alive. Keep an eye on him till we can tie him up." Matt informed the rest of the group

There were other issues to attend to. Like the giant Skrull that was covered in electricity. They needed both of these guys down and out for the count right away. Matt moved, Cass had the guy's attention. If she kept it he could get a punch in, and as long as it landed on skin he could let out his paralytic, and if that worked he'd get a nasty shock for his efforts but he might take the Skrull down.

Matt stepped up and punched. The lighting hit him harder than he expected. He let out a big of a yelp and pulled back. He had touched the guy but hadn't gotten a decent blast of his paralytic off. The second swing was caught by the giant Skrull. Matt winced. He would have preferred to be fighting with a gun. He was better with a gun. But the giant was holding him, touching his skin. Matt grinned. And let out more paralytic. But the Skrull didn't drop, didn't even relax his grip. He couldn't pull his hand free either. Shit.

Niah Bautista

Location: Mount Rushmore, South Dakota
Skills: Armor Control

"Oh fine, we won't destroy the national monument to old white guys." Niah said, though she was amused. She didn't want to take off the armor considering it both offered protection and the ability to fly if one of the harpies or the dragon decided to toss her off the mountain. At least it only appeared that the armor was difficult to start using. She'd have to practice that...a lot.

She followed beside Nancy and Mads into the dragon's lair. There was so much gold. It was enough to make Scrooge McDuck feel poor. She wondered if they'd be able to take some back. With that kind of gold that could buy everyone in camp their own...anything. They could buy a school bus, or even just a dang truck so people wouldn't have to hitchhike or catch trains for their quests. Though that was part of the point of a quest so the truck would probably break down or end up possessed or something equally impeding.

She assessed the situation. Getting to the Gem would be impossible to do without making noise...on foot. She could fly over to it. Niah concentrated and felt the armor respond to her desires. She flew over to the Gem and picked it up. Touching it sort of set her teeth on edge. Like something was wrong with it. She looked at the Dragon hoping it was still sleeping. No such luck it was waking up.

Niah threw the Gem at Mads, seeing that her friend was watching her. Mads caught the Gem and Niah flew in a complicated pattern trying to keep the Dragon's attention before flying over and joining the illusions of the group. "Run!" She shouted. It seemed like the Dragon was falling for the ruse. It at least didn't seem like it knew which group was which.

"Honestly, as far as adventures go, this whole thing has been super weird." He confessed. The whole thing had been pretty bizarre. He wasn't certain how to feel about it all yet. And he still had to contend with the fact that his dad was a cat. How do you even begin to process that?

It felt good to be back in the tower, away from Rumple. Now that they were out of immediate danger they could figure out a plan. They had everyone...she paused in that thought. Where were the chaos brothers? Their mission had gone off fairly cleanly and neither of them had been there. She'd be perfectly happy not to have them again. But the fact that Red was missing was more important to Rose.

"Sounds like the group is back." Colby darted back up the stairs passed the others. The cats clinging to his shoulders. "Merlin. The defenses put them up. Those are guards." He spit out in a rush of words. He saw that Jack was back with the group so that meant they had been successful at least.

Then there was Colby coming out of the hidden door that led to the catacombs claiming that there were guards outside the tower. She frowned and looked past him and saw the others. Relaxing a little bit knowing that her mom was fine. She nodded at her mom. Then turned to Colby, he had an extra cat on his shoulder that she didn't recognize. "What happened?" She asked him.

Andy wholeheartedly agreed with Arthur on his assessment of Cassian. That kid was weird. But she expected any kid of Mr. D would be weird. Mr. D was weird himself. She couldn't imagine what having him as a father would be like. She doubted her early life would have been any different though with how little the gods paid attention to their children most of the time. Nancy was speaking though. Saying that what she had to say was heavy, Andy didn't know what ralph meant, but she had seen Back-to-the-future once and knew that if something was heavy it was considered bad.

She tensed up. Half tempted to take the pause that Nancy gave as the excuse to leave. But she had been invited along by her aunt so she saw no reason to actually leave. Andy was glad she was holding Arthur's hand. Glad she had something to keep her grounded and from running to her aunt. She didn't want her aunt to die. Her free hand went and covered her mouth automatically. She turned and looked at Arthur wide-eyed.

Andy saw how Mads looked at her. The concern on her face. She wanted to run over and hug her aunt, which was saying something since she didn't do much hugging. But Mads asked exactly what she would have. Were there any more details? Anything that could make this not an absolute. Quest visions were mailable the could have many meanings.

Niah wanted to collapse. Wanted to scream and cry and fight the universe. But she had been around long enough that Mads would fall into the Pit. There was no avoiding that. Apollo had shown up and maybe given them a lifeline, or maybe a trap. She wasn't certain. But she knew that if she were presented with the need to give the potion to either Nancy or Mads she would. She would take Jupiter's punishment to save them.

She sat down on the other side of Mads. Glanced at the kids standing just in ear-shot. And then turned to her best friends in the whole world. "Alright, how do we get her back after she falls in." There was no avoiding the fall, but it wouldn't be the first time someone had gone into the Pit and back out again. It wasn't easy. One didn't simply walk into the Pit.

Skills: Sympathetic: Healing

Ed appreciated Klara's efforts at healing him. He nodded to her, not entirely trusting himself to speak still. At least he didn't feel like he was going to collapse. He and Annie continued making their way up when he was shot again. This time it was a less serious wound, but it still hurt. He was working on pulling his shield back up, it would be good to have himself protected again.

The current goal post though was filled with guards. Ed was deciding how he wanted to deal with them when Runa took all of them out. Quite impressively. He entered the room, considered moving bodies, and decided against it. He needed to heal himself first and foremost. He would be of no use wounded. And while Klara had reduced the pain he was still hurt.

This was literally the largest crowd of people, not to mention mutants, that Andy had ever seen in her life. She had lived in big cities but had avoided the worst crowds. She hated them. Hated the press of bodies and the confusing patterns of large crowds. She wanted to disappear and wished that had been one of her powers instead of making her body spark and being quick to react.

She listened to the others introduce themselves. It was a mix of real names and codenames. (And Echo...echoing her own thoughts.) She didn't think she belonged there either. Sure she had wished to be a champion and be a great fighter and have crowds cheering her name, but this felt ill-fitting. She considered giving her real name, or the one she wanted to claim as her real name since she didn't know her birth name. Andy was used to her identity being fabricated. She also hoped that maybe this place would give her a chance to shrug off the past. To lose the ghosts that haunted her dreams. If any place could allow for that it was here. Even if she only wanted to melt into the fabric of society. She didn't want to be singled out.

But now it was her turn. All the other members of the group, she couldn't bring herself to think of it as her group because she wasn't part of them. Not really. She had been with them not even a full two days. The time frozen didn't count.

She took a deep breath and she said, with a small glance at Havok remembering his teasing of her chosen name, "I'm Thundering Champion." She waved and electricity sparked around her fingertips. It wasn't a major show, just a subtle thing that under normal circumstances only the first few rows of people would have been able to see, but since everything was being telepathically broadcast it would be clear to all.

There was no more Andy, not with that proclamation. She was now Thundering Champion. It didn't matter what her real name was, what any name she had gone as, all of that was wiped clean by twenty-thousand voices calling her Thundering Champion.
Emzie saw the decision be made. It was a hard one. And they respected Raynor for it. "Yes. It was not chosen as the original path because it goes past a guard station. If they are distracted enough we should experience minimum resistance." The route on the map changed. Flicking to a new path with a red mark where the guard station was.

There was no guarantee it would work. The whole mission was a Hail Mary in a war of Hail Mary's. This wasn't unusual for Emzie. They trusted the Jedi on those types of missions more than they would trust a non-Jedi. The Force gave the Jedi an advantage.

"There is also a route that requires passing through ducting." The map changed again. "This was not chosen because Clones would not fit."

"Unsurprisingly there is a tour group of kids. We'll keep you apprised of their location." Niah warned the group. She watched the screens that Sparky had pulled up. And grinned as Alex hit his Skrull counterpart. She understood the desire to punch the interlopers.

"Not subtle that one." She said to Sparky. In her gut, she didn't like Alex, but she was starting to warm up to him. It helped that he had literally saved her life. Without his background that was the reason she didn't like him, she'd be possessed by a demon bear. Sometimes you had to accept that enemies could become allies. The reverse was certainly true.

Niah watched Oliver nervously. His skills weren't ideal for this part of the mission. In her opinion, he should have been out here with Sparky and her. He wasn't a fighter, though he had proved capable of surviving some truly terrible situations. Hopefully, he would be alright. There was something reassuring about him though. After the events at the hospital, she trusted him more than anyone else. He had risked giving up on his mom for her.

Matt caught Raynor's nod and started toward one of the entrances into the Oval Office. Just as he was about to enter the room he heard Sparky over the radio let them know Alex had taken the initiative. He stepped in and moved toward one of the probably Skrull secret agents. Matt was better with a gun but didn't want the risk that came with shooting a gun in the White House. If he hadn't known better he would think he had been designed to be a gun user.

The guard must have been on high alert for the type of thing though. Matt had hoped that Alex's distraction of punching himself would have given him a bit of an edge. But as he went in for a swing the guard blocked it. Then used an opening to try to punch Matt. He was able to block that thankfully.

Matt pulled back for another punch. This time landing it and the guard collapsed to the ground unconscious. He blinked. That was unexpected, but not unwelcome.
