Niah returned the gold to her pocket with a shrug. If he didn't want some of the gold they had, that was his choice. It wasn't all Roman coins, but if that had been the issue, she probably could have found some in the bags heavy with the gold they had gathered.

Niah didn't mind the middle seat. She took it without complaint. Just happy to be in a relatively safe position. A part of her brain screamed it was a trap. But if the guy answered Nancy's questions, she would feel better about it. Her bag was clunky, but she kept it on her lap.

She felt like the questions they were asking were the ones she wanted to know, so she didn't have anything to add. But because of the small part of her that was freaking out, watched him carefully. She wore a smile, so it didn't seem creepy.

Rose Buckner

Location: The Moors
Skills:

Rose beamed a bit at the comment from Cassie about her being an excellent knight. It wasn't something she had ever really thought about doing. Except in that 'go to the ren fair sort of way. But hey, this was a fantasy world, so why not? That'd be a cool future here.

As they made their way farther up they found Flynn and Rosalia. They had escaped on their own, which Rose found equal parts impressive and hilarious. What a shitty prison if they could escape within ten minutes of getting put into it. Thankfully Cassie remembered where they could go next from there.

Colby Jackson

Colby shrugged since Jack went in without responding. He was now torn between going inside and seeing what the others had learned and continuing the practice. Both were valuable in their own way. But he was strongly leaning toward practice. He remembered how much he hated being in the big group. There were too many personality clashes.

"Want to go in and listen?" Colby asked Maddie, opting to let him decide. He did glance at their fathers' to see if the pair of them had any interest in going inside. As it stood, they could practice more. Magic was complicated, and just because they were good at a spell now in this calm, safe place didn't mean they would be in the heat of a fight. Colby refused to put all his eggs in one basket.

Andy's little untrusting heart didn't like that Mary told Damon they had the book, but it was too late now. He at least seemed excited rather than mad. Andy leaned into her aunt's embrace. It was comforting. Something she had had precious little of for too long. Especially without Arthur around. Arthur was a comforting presence. Even if Andy felt like she had to protect him all the time. She missed him and hoped he was doing well.

She ate her food quietly and looked at the map the boy had produced. She was not a great judge of maps. She couldn't guess much of the meanings of the marks on it, except simple things like trees and walls. The book map was much more helpful since it was an active map and helped them. It had led them here in a way.

"Whichever you prefer." Niah shrugged. She ate her food quickly, which was a good thing. She huffed a little when she noticed the men entering. "Time to go. If you aren't done eating you are now." Of course it always happened when they were eating.

"This way." She said, leaving the remains of her food on the table. No time for being nice when men with clubs were following you. And Niah had a nice fear of random groups like this since the incident that had turned Mads into a werewolf. That hadn't been their first group of werewolves. And without Nancy and her fantastic ability to just pop their heads...well Niah didn't like close combat with them.

Niah led the way out of the building through the secondary exit and headed for the hotel on their slips. They'd check-in, hopefully, get a room that was semi-defensible, and get some much-needed sleep.

Andy wasn't certain about approaching the tent. For much the same reason that Leah had said. There were a lot of people there. And she knew exactly zero of them, well that wasn't totally true cause Madalyne was with them. Andy had met her. But Leah started talking to them and complimenting her through it, so Andy could only smile and feel the heat of a blush warming her cheeks.

However, that blush deepened quickly. The guy's accent was a bit hard to understand, and Andy sucked with fashion. It was clear that he was giving her fashion advice. She hadn't really had a chance to shop for new clothing. She had like three outfits; all thrifted from before time traveling. Though she supposed she did have one outfit that that guy Max had summoned for her. She didn't know what to say.

Thankfully Zari appeared. She had Mai with her. How they had crossed paths Andy didn't know. But Mai was asking for more of the chips she had shared earlier. Andy nodded. "Yeah, I'll ask my mom. As long as she didn't summon them into existence, they're probably on Amazon or wherever." Andy thought there was a non-insignificant chance her mom had just summoned the snacks into existence.

Andy hugged Zari tightly. "We just went to the gym. We didn't even get to fight long cause I got the perfect kick in on Leah and laid her out. Then we met some senior that was messing with these machines. You'll want to see them later." Shortly after that, Zari was going a mile a minute again, asking the group who had been around the tent who they were.

Victoria hadn't really said anything, but Andy gave her a wave as she left. Neither Victoria nor Zari looked all the worse for the wear. So, however, their fight panned out, and it seemed okay. It seemed at least that she didn't have to introduce herself. Zari had basically done it for her. She smiled.

Andy still didn't know what SuperLink was, but hopefully, she'd figure that out soon enough. There was something one of the guys with a French (?) accent said that had her attention. They were doing a movie night. Andy loved movies. She was super out of date on what movies had happened too. So much media to catch up on! She wanted to ask about it but had already been embarrassed quite a bit. She didn't think she wanted to hang out with what were clearly "cool kids."

"Oh, uh, no. Not a Freshman. Just a transfer." Please for the love of literally anything, don't ask where they had transferred from.

Ed Penior

Ed was annoyed with Toad. He was frustrated with this fight. There was way too much going on for Ed to be able to keep track of everyone and everything, and he knew that healing a broken bone mid-fight would be basically impossible. Max was putting on a wild display, which included summoning corpses. Now beside Ed, a tombstone bearing his own name had appeared. He really didn't want to think about it. He was going to have to ask Max about his premonition, though.

"Look, I don't get what this is about, but I need you just to take a break or something." Ed said to Toad, and he flicked his arm, and a blast of orange light hit Toad. Despite having just stood up, Toad crumpled to the ground. To be certain, Ed knelt down and checked for a pulse. Reassured that he hadn't just broken a family law Ed stood back up. He had to address the "EDUS" tombstone in the room. Ed made his way back toward the center of the fray.

"Max...about this tombstone...I think you have something to tell me that I'm not going to like hearing. Also, I can't heal that break during the battle. I need to set it before I can." The fight at least seemed to have ended for Mary. Pyro was down, he had definitely picked the wrong person to try to fight. That left OfAll's fight, Max, Neil, and Bethany. Bethany had Black Tom and was stabbing him with his own shadows; talk about 'stop hitting yourself.' Neil had the zombies under his control and pelted his opponent with rocks, which was vaguely hilarious.

He needed to heal the residual damage Toad had done to him. His orange light flickered from his hands, healing only the barest superficial damage. His head was still ringing. He slowed down his breathing and concentrated, the light grew steadier and the aches from the fight went away. His head cleared up.

"OfAll, are you doing okay? If you can get to me I'll heal you again." With her flying around and her own opponent Ed wasn't certain if he could risk diving into the fight again. However, it did seem this fight was intentionally one v one, which made him even more nervous about interfering with another fight. He glanced at Mary to see what she planned on doing now that she had proven not to fuck with the person currently hosting the Pheonix.

Rose Buckner

"Are you okay?" Rose looked between both of the sisters. She may be dating Cassie, but she did like Layla too. She was thankful Robin Hood had been able to catch her.

Down under the castle, they went. "Which direction?" Rose's voice was quiet. She looked around hoping for a door. It took her a moment. Eventually, she found a set of stairs heading up.

"I found stairs." She said returning to them.

Colby Jackson

Location: Rapunzel's Tower
Skills:

Colby shoulder-bumped Maddie. "Yeah, you did. That's cool though." Colby wanted to try his hand at the lighting too. He wasn't upset about being upstaged by Maddie. Especially in practice.

He grinned when Maddie told the story about the heist, clearly missing some important pieces of information. But whatever. He looked at Jack, the human one, and nodded. "You got magic too?" Colby tried to remember who Jack's parents were but honestly, he only remembered who Willow's mom was at this point and only because he had spent so much time with her.

It had been been a traumatizing few days. And he had spent so little time with the group as a whole. And disliked a good portion of them.

Andy's eyes went a bit wide when the kid explained what had happened to his group. They had had the book they now had. Andy glanced at Mary to see if she wanted to tell the boy they had it. If the Labyrinth were predictable in any sort of way they could tell him how to get out. But if he was alone...

Could they take him with them? Andy did know that quests were done in numbers of three but she didn't understand why. She ate some of the soup. It wasn't the best food in the world, but it certainly wasn't the worst. She ate it slowly thinking. She didn't like the idea of having a kid whose first reaction had been to hold a knife to her throat with them. There was a certain level of trust she just could never have with him. However, since he was from camp she felt bad for thinking it best to just leave him behind. So Andy kept her thoughts to herself. Let the older kids decide.

Niah nodded. It was as good as any plan. Their food was all ordered and paid for with their vouchers. Niah looked for a table. She found one near the bathroom and sat down.

"Yes, a watch will be a good idea. We need to make sure we are all awake and back here in time for the train too." Niah said, her stomach growling. She could tell she hadn't been on a quest in a long time. She thought of a truck and wind and her friends. She hoped Mads was alright. Was Nancy getting along with the large group she was with? Or had she screamed their heads off yet?

Niah sipped her drink. "Anyway. I prefer the first watch, but I'll take the middle since it is the roughest. If you're not good at falling right back asleep you'll not get enough sleep at all."

Once their food was brought to them she went quiet to focus on eating. Also, the cafe had gotten quiet and she didn't like the idea of talking about stuff in a quiet room. Loud rooms were better for talking about stuff people didn't think was real. That or you pretended it was about dungeons and dragons. No one paid attention if you were talking about that (unless they were also nerds).

Andy saved the guy's 'superlink', whatever that was, for later. She'd have to ask Mai...or maybe Leah would be cool enough to explain it to her. The last major social media app Andy used had been TicTok. She wondered if her account was still active. Or if TicTok was even still a thing.

"Thanks, I do want to try it. I loved Mario Kart." She told him before heading out of the Gym. As they walked Andy slowed a bit and turned to Leah, "Uh can I ask you a really weird question?" She wasn't certain what Leah would think about it, but so far Leah had been cool. She really hoped Leah wouldn't ask why she didn't know what the heck superlink was.

"Basically, I just moved here, right, and I have no idea what SuperLink is. I'm guessing a social media of some sort?" Before Leah could answer Andy looked around realizing she a) had no idea who Agatha was and b) no idea where Agatha was. She saw a trio of people, one older and two freshman-looking.

"Uh, hey, sorry to bother you guys, but where is..." Andy trailed off trying to remember the name, she pulled out her phone and glanced at the email from Victoria. "Agatha's? She realized after she asked that Leah had said she had already been there and probably could have led the way.

"It's not too far, just a few feet to the left there's a line there and a tent with a bunch of occult stuff on it, not too hard to miss." The blonde, older-looking one of the trio said.

"Cool thank you"

"Yep no problem at all." Andy started in the direction she had indicated, paused after a few feet, and looked at Leah again.

"Sorry, right after I asked them I remembered you said you had already been and I should have just asked you."

Ed had barely healed OfAll a tiny bit and she was being tossed around again. He really needed to get hair from her and Max. But now was not the time to be thinking about that. Because Toad had decided to rip him away from the rest of the party and slam him into the ground.

Ed saw stars. He blinked a few times, sure he had gotten a concussion. He needed to get back to the others since now he was a significant distance away and he could swear he heard a loud crack of someone breaking a bone. Shit. But Toad was too focused on him. Fine so be it. If Toad wanted to remove Ed from the rest of the team he'd remove him from the fight too.

With a flick of his wrist, a sad orange light flickered and faded, telling Ed his head really was a little too messed up. He took a deep breath and focused this time a bubble formed around Toad. Ed sent it flying off toward the woods, it didn't go as far as he would have liked, but it gave him some room to move. And move Ed did, back towards the others. To see who had broken a bone.

"I'll go first." Rose said. She wasn't afraid of heights. Not in the knee-knocking sense. But she also knew a fall like that would kill her. She didn't want to die. So she crossed slowly enough to know that her steps were secure ones, but quickly enough that she was safe on the other side fast. She was not lingering.

Then Cassi went next. Rose wasn't sure if she had known how much Cassi was scared of heights. It isn't like they talked about their fears while playing rivals. Maybe it would be a good thing to talk about. How she was afraid of forest fires, now she understood why.

"I will. I promise." Rose said. There wasn't her normal hint of levity. And when Cassi made it across she held her tightly for a moment. "You're safe. You did great."

Magic!

Colby cheered and hugged Maddie back. It was pretty cool that he had done that. The whole thing was exciting! The blissful time that Colby had been having with Maddie was shattered. Of the others, some of this group were fine. It was Rosalia he didn't like and she wasn't there.

Colby did roll his eyes at the weird goth girl's comment. "I think he is inside." Maybe she didn't remember how Merlin's castle had protected them. Though Colby had to wonder if this place had the same sort of protections in place.

"My turn." He said grinning and turning to the glass targets set up. Since Maddie had gone for lighting he tried the fire spell, something vaguely irresponsible considering they were in a forest, but Colby didn't think that through. His dad seemed to think it was safe enough. His movements were smooth as he drew out the fire and then blasted the glass targets, taking out seven. Only half as many as Maddie had, and that was okay for him. He grinned at Maddie and then flicked his hand sending out more fire and destroying two more of the targets.
