Mandy's eyes went wide and she stepped back away from the man. Hermes was telling her that the CDC said to avoid people who had bites on them and this man did. She looked at Hannah, hoping the teen would ask the woman some questions, like what happened? She felt useless. She hated this. She wanted to converse, she needed information and this situation was dangerous.

She raised her hands, palm toward her chest and pulled them slowly away, telling her cousin to breathe. Then she turned to Hannah, "Ask what happened, before the accident." God she wished there was a proper interpreter there.

Andy appreciated that her friends wanted to do something for her birthday. However, she didn't want to even acknowledge its passing. She shifted, pressing against Chocolate. Could she balance quietly ignoring her birthday and her friends wanting to celebrate it? Why celebrate birthdays anyway? All they marked was another year, New Years was better for that.

"I don't know." She finally said after a few moments of silence. "I don't hate the idea of a small gathering, but I don't want to be the center of attention for everyone. I don't want a song. I don't want a lot of people." It was hard to limit who could be there. She knew she'd want her brother and Aunt (if they got her back). But really she wanted Arthur there.

The anger that radiated from Nancy was almost palpable. And Niah didn't blame her for it. She shifted uncomfortable as she realized she wasn't getting Oath Breaker from Leandra...were they wrong? She focused again on the woman, not daring to trust her first instinct.

If she found that Leandra hadn't broken her oath to Rome...what would that mean? Everything would change. Could Niah lie - and say she had broken the oath just to keep the peace? If she didn't sense a broken oath...was Leandra guilty? If she wasn't guilty of Oak Breaking what had happened? With Leandra's tongue removed it would be harder to get the full story. Niah's stomach twisted.

Then it was there. The oil slick feeling. The crack in the pavement. A hot spot in cool water. Explaining how Oath Breaking felt was hard to do correctly. It is like when a tooth has work done on it. The tooth is still there, but it feels different, wrong. And Leandra felt like that.

The twit in her stomach went away and the fear that maybe they were wrong dissipated. Leandra had broken an Oath.

Mandy didn't interact with hearing people often outside of controlled settings. She was used to an interpreter being there at school or events. Sure she lived in the world where most people were hearing, but her parents' friends were Deaf and their children, her own friends, had been Deaf or CODA who all knew ASL. How was she supposed to reassure someone who had just been hit by a car? She didn't sound right when she spoke and she knew that from how hearing people had reacted to her growing up.

Hannah was talking though and that made her feel better. Hermes was on the phone. Neither were signing, both were talking. But that was okay, normally she'd be irritated. This situation was different though. Hannah wasn't much of a signer and Hermes was only a little better. He had most learned from struggled conversations over the last few years. He had tried though, which was better than some people she knew.

All of these thoughts had passed through Mandy's mind, though she didn't dwell on any of them. She focused on the man and tried to smile reassuringly. Fear kept her from touching him. Even without a weird disease that might cause cannibalism, she didn't work with humans. She knew the anatomy of a human and how biology worked, those had been required classes and while she hadn't been a straight-A student she had done well. There were other blood-borne contaminations to think of, and Mandy did not have gloves.

Andy was able to dodge shards of glass and other debris. But she was still soaked. However, the two Mary Sue's got hit hard. She wondered if her own copy down below in the basement was hearing these noises and wondering what was happening. By now they had probably killed Usagi and would be heading up the stairs.

"Zari, get one of the Mary Sue's I'll get the other and we have to get to our past selves and close the loop. We can't deal with both of these issues." She yelled over the din of Leah and April.

"Come on," Andy said to the lesser injured of the two Mary Sues. She didn't want to have to touch her if she could avoid it, but she was ready to help her if necessary. It helped that they were both in their framework outfits still and that covered a significant amount of their skin so she hoped she could avoid skin-to-skin contact. With Mary Sue, Andy started to move to the edge of the room farther away from the swirling water and debris that marked where April was.

Ed Penior

Location: New Orleans - Botanical Gardens
Skills: Magic
Items:
Magic cloak (like Dr Strange that allows him to fly)
Protection Amulet from Klara

Prior to heading to New Orleans Ed made sure his items were in order. He gathered his cloak, he didn't often wear it in the mansion. Something he was thinking might be important to keep on him after their forced space adventure. He also put on the amulet from Klara. Its power would be useful in this fight and he was thankful for the kind gift.

Ed holds up the spell components for his tracking spell. This close to her would lead him in a straight line to her so it wouldn't take long to find her. "We don't have to be too obvious. I can start tracking her." He nods at the two new to join them in the garden.

Mary likely knew they were there, especially considering how Rogue and Gambit had just arrived. He sets to his spell, taking his time to make sure he did it right. Ed held a chain with a crystal at the end, the crystal was wrapped in the strand of hair he had from Mary. It snapped to attention. "She should be that way.

Andy froze a bit when asked about her birthday. Then she straightened and nodded. "Yeah, the seventh. I'll be twelve." Twelve didn't feel like a big year. Thirteen would mean more, and it seemed an eternity away.

"I don't like my birthday though." Andy said honestly. "Before coming here they were never great. I liked last year." She didn't say it was because of Arthur. She didn't know when or if he'd return to camp.

Niah frowned at the compass. She didn't recognize the symbols, and that concerned her. A mysterious item showing up that she didn't know anything about was concerning. Niah wanted to ask the Legionnaire follow-up questions but now wasn't the time. For now, she pocketed it.

"I agree. However, due process." Niah responded. She went into the Senate hall. Niah took her seat. She was a Senator. As she took her seat Niah let her Power of Oaths sweep through her.

"If teams are the way we are going I'll stay here and help Mary." The two had connected, he felt, during their second to last mission. She had trusted him when he knew something was wrong with Klara. On top of that, he had no desire to return to space. Once had been more than enough and the second time had fully removed his desire for space exploration.

For now, he remained on the Mansion side of the portal. It was clear that it was Max and his family's home on the other side of the portal and he wasn't one to wander into people's homes uninvited. Especially when those people were powerful sorcerers. Ed remembered one family member who had booby-trapped most of his home so anyone without the passcode or an amulet key would be kicked out of the place painfully.

Mandy parked the car, letting Hannah out of the car. She was oblivious to the news cast, but she didn't miss the accident. She made a strangled noise. "Call 911." She told Hermes. Someone had to, and she couldn't without going through hoops.

Mandy made sure she had the kitten in the bag and started over toward the man who had been hit and the woman. She wasn't trained to help people. She wasn't a nurse or anything, though she did have medical knowledge. Learning about animals required a lot of biology knowledge.

As Mandy checked the man over she could tell that he was still alive but he needed medical help quickly. "Tell them what happened and he is alive but not doing well." She signed at Hermes, trying to keep her signs slow enough and clear for him. Her hands were shaking slightly.

Andy did not agree that Ed deserved a second chance. She had seen what could happen if someone was left unchecked. Maybe Sabine had fixed it so Ed wouldn't do wrong again. He seemed to be regretting it. She wasn't sure how Sabine had done that. How easy was it to just pull a part of someone out of them?

Could she do that to Selene?

April was upset. Andy would have tried to comfort her, but two things stayed her hand. One, she wasn't that close with April to feel comfortable touching her, and second, she didn't trust her touch. Andy hadn't touched many people since leaving her own time. Mads seemed to take that into hand though. Andy nodded mostly to herself. She didn't want to leave Ed alone yet. Not until she was certain what was going to happen. The others had started to disperse.

They also needed to figure out what to do about the downstairs copies, or in Mary Sue's case in the room with them. For now she turned her attention to Zari. "Will the copies of us disappear? Or do we have to do something about this?" She wasn't certain about this since Zari hadn't been born yet in her time, and going to the future hadn't caused any copies to be made.

Andy nods at Stella's explanation of the words she had used. That makes sense. If you have two parents of the same gender you can call them the same name, like Mom or Dad, you have to use a different nickname to differentiate who you are talking to. It would be very confusing otherwise.

Andy takes off her shoes and socks letting her feet sink into the sand. She smiles sadly at Kristin appreciating the reassurance. "I'm sure we will." She nods agreeing. If they didn't...Andy doesn't want to think about those options. She wasn't the only one missing Mads, there were others that were upset. It wasn't just her though. She missed Arthur. With her birthday coming up she didn't know how she would spend it without him. He had made the birthday a good day. It had been the first she had liked.

"Appearances can be deceiving. She has 'allegedly' betrayed the whole of New Rome." The quotes around allegedly were obvious in Niah's voice. Her voice may not have been dripping with the venom she felt, but that was only because she knew she had to remain neutral. She'd do a proper read on Leandra during the trial and determine if she had broken her Oath to New Rome.

She took the offered item, a compass. Niah looked it over curious about it. Wondering if there were markings that she would recognize. She had a thought pop up that she hoped it wasn't cursed. It was too late she had already taken the compass. Niah frowned a little while examining it.
