Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

At the public square in front of the harbour was a newspaper kiosk. On one of the sides was a poster with the text:

Warning
Spinarak and Ariados spotted near the cave.
Guided tours to the cave are still leaving every two hours,
but it is adviced to stay on the road and do not enter the forest by yourself.

At the public square, close to the newspaper kiosk, was a pole with several direction signs, pointing to the four streets that left the place. It showed the gym and contest hall were to the right when standing with your back to the ocean, to the left weas a Pokémon center, and a police center in the center-left direction. While there was no arrow pointing to the center-right direction, there seemed to be lots of shops located there. That was also the road the Umbreon had followed until it had gone around a corner and went into the residential area.

In the police station officer Jenny was doing some paperwork.

The Umbreon lay on the grass of someone's front yard.
The reason I didn't reply yet is because I'm not enirely what I want to write in the next part.

Would you like your character to wake up as he arrives in the hospital, having regained consciousness during the ride in the ambualnce, or after the main treatment for his wounds has been done?
After much deliberation I have decided to vote for Searching For Paradise.

I do want to acknowledge the high-quality entries of Blood on the rocks and Phantom Vision, it was very hard to choose between these three and if I could I would give all three a vote, but in the end I just like how the theme was executed in Searching for Paradise.
I did forget to add my vote >_< Will fix that asap.

It is difficult to vote this round, I have a top 4 of stories that I all liked for different reasons, so it's hard to compare them and pick my favourite.

@SleepingSilence
Wasn't there also a Charmander in her team? With wings?
Benjamin had a thankful smile for Sara, it was kind of her to take the blame for it. The idea that they would blame it on Ray didn't sit easy with him, that meant he had to talk to the psychiatrist leading the group session before she would start pointing fingers. But maybe eat first, otherwise he could get a remark about missing lunch too.

He too got up and he went to the door. "Let's go then," he said and he opened the door. He looked in the corridor and saw three other patients walking towards the dining hall of the asylum. None of them paid much attention to him leaving a room that wasn't his, they probably didn't even know where he stayed. He left the room first and waited outside for the other two.

Marc was in the dining hall and looked at the list with medication. The others helping with the meals weren't allowed to hand out the pills, that had to be done by a registered nurse. He glanced around, he knew Sara was here somewhere, usually working during the meals as a staff. He wondered if she had already eaten, he had eaten a bit before coming here and he had looked around for Sara, but hadn't seen her.
He looked at the list again and filled the next cup with the pills on his cart.
A hint of annoyance crept over Benjamin's face at the mention of the term 'unknown', but didn't comment on it and looked at Duncan's arm before looking at him. "Wow," he said. "That is cool. But... your mother, A code? How? I mean... how?"
Out of all the things Duncan had said, that was the hardest to grasp. Not that he ever met a Cyborg before, but it was something he had at least heard about.
An alien and a cyborg together, for people on earth it could be the plot for a science fiction story. Benjamin had to admit he still had to get used to the idea of aliens and cyborgs, but that was just because he only recently met them. He was much more acquainted with the creatures that were mentioned in lores and legends for centuries.

"Yeah, well, maybe you'll get a chance for revenge," Ethan said. He looked at the smoke escaping from her fist. He wasn't certain who was emitting more smoke at this point, he or Gaia. He inhaled from his cigarette a final time and put out the remains against the stones of the wall as he blew out the smoke.
"I'm going to see if they have something to eat," he said. After getting up he only had a coffee, but now he was hungry. And it was about lunchtime too.
With the cup empty, and the sugar and caffeine mixture doing its job, Andy was ready to take on the world, as long as that world was within the clinical white walls of the emergency department. The lights in the ceiling were bright and the green floor had just been cleaned by someone of the cleaning crew. The smell of the detergent mixed with the smell of other disinfectants that were often used when treating wounds.

First he made a round over the department to check all the beds that were currently occupied and see who could be discharged or sent to one of the other departments.

It wasn't long before his first patient of the day arrived: a man broke his broken arm, fell down some stairs as he hurried to get to work on time.
"If you want my professional advice," Andy said, as he applied a new layer of the cast around the arm, "don't try to ignore gravity when you are in a hurry."
"I didn't," the man grumbled.
He continued with listing all the do's and don'ts when wearing a cast. When he was done he showed him how to make a sling with a triangular bandage, signed the necessary paperwork and left him in the care of a nurse as he went to the next patient.
I haven't got that far yet XD But I know I was thinking real hard about Michaels Pokémon, wondering if I was missing one or not. I don't think I'm missing any though. But we've been doing this RP on PFQ for 4 years, and it started back on the old PF, so it's not surprising we end up forgetting things.

I am working on the backup of that thread, so I can tell you what Pokémon I saw in her party so far. The Noivern Li and the Staraptor Charles are two that she used in the beginning of the thread.
