Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

To the sky!

From da Vinci to the Wright Brothers, from Icarus to the Dragon Riders; flight doesn’t come natural to humans, but we always longed for it. It is our dream to conquer the sky with paper airplanes or spaceships, with a gift from the gods or by taming the winged beasts. It doesn’t matter how, but we will fly.

Spread your wings, my fellow writers, because for this writing competition I invite you to write a story about flying.

Core rules:
  • At all times follow the Fundamental Rules of the Guild and the Moderation Policy for Forum Contests.
  • After reading the above this should be obvious: No plagiarism and respect copyright laws.
  • The story you submit must be written by you and specifically for this contest.
  • This is a place for original fiction, no fanfiction allowed.
  • No explicit sex, but you may fade to black.
  • No excessive violence or gore.
  • Please subscribe to this thread.

Contest rules:
  • For this contest there are no restrictions to the theme.
Just like the freedom that comes with flying, be free in what you want to write about, as long as it is about flying in one way or the other.
  • There will be a minimum word count of 500 and a maximum of 5000
  • Please PM @Calle the entries and give it as title RPGC#27 - (Your Title).
  • Your entry can be anonymous or carry your name. Let me know what you want in the PM. If you don't specify, your entry will be posted anonymously, but you may always claim your story during or at the end of the voting round.
Even for anonymous entries, the name of the writer will be added to the entry in the Hall of Fame.
  • The deadline is June 30th, 9:00 GMT+1, which is 7:00 game time (both times are in a.m.)

I suppose that once you discharge the wool it'll be good to use. Cutting will be the real obstacle XD
Wooloo will probably be the main source of wool now, I recall its wool being used was specifically mentioned in the Pokédex.

Cotton comes from plants, so that doesn't have to come from a Pokémon, but it definitely could come from the right plant Pokémon. And silk is most likely from Pokémon.

Bulbapedia doesn't mention much about any industry when it comes to Pokémon, but I know Miltank farms are a thing in the anime and Moomoo milk is a known drink that comes from Pokémon.

I do sometimes wonder where the meat they eat comes from... They try not to talk much about Pokémon as food source for other Pokémon, although some Pokédex entries and anime episodes do hint to that. They don't talk at all about Pokémon as a food source for humans, except for that one anime episode where Ash, Brock and James fantasize about eating Magikarp.

"Love at first sight can happen," Andy said, "but I think that is mostly attraction. It takes a moment to see the person as they really are to really love them." He frowned briefly. "It's sad when that love is one-sided though," he added with a hint of bitterness in his tone.

Bear growled softly and Kim's ears drooped.

"Whatever," Bear said. "That was a long time ago and I am going to be awesome in the gym battle."

Mabel accepted the words with a nod. Both had said what needed to be said, so there was no need to continue. She would keep a close eye on the situation, but as far as she could tell Gavin was decent. She met the look of Li and returned it for a moment, before getting up and stretching her wings.
"I'm going to fly," she said. "Please tell Mindy I'll return soon, and if she needs me she has to call me."
She didn't wait for an answer, with a few wingbeats she lifted into the sky.

"Enjoy!"" Benny said, flying around close to the ground. He wasn't one for sitting still long, but he never went far away from Michael.

Merlin opened an eye when Fez sat down next to him, then looked at the energetic Butterfree and leaving Dragonite, and then closed it again.

Mindy went to the shop and entered it. "We need the right colour of yellow," she said as she started looking around. "Colours like blue and purple don't really stand out in my dark hair." She touched the red ribbon on the right side of her head. "It's why I usually have a bright red one."

The shop was full of wool and thread for sewing and knitting, needles in all shapes and sizes. And lacework and ribbons in different colours and patterns.

I don't remember either. Could be Li. Li is also part dragon-type.

The Misdreavus looked at the Mareep and then looked back when leaves were pushed to the side and a twig snapped under someone's foot.
A man showed himself, by the looks of it he was somewhere in his thirties and his blond hair seemed messy. He looked at the two trainers for a moment, but soon had his attention on the Misdreavus. "Where did it go?" he asked.
The Misdreavus looked at the bushes the Mareep had pointed out.
"It left," the man concluded. He turned to the two young males. "What brought you here?" he asked.
When Harriet and Steph were gone, Mike turned to Benjamin. "Actually, there is something I want to talk about..." he told his friend about Harriet and how evil she had looked. Benjamin listened to it and seemed to doubt.
"Look, I know what you're thinking," Mike said. "You think that since I don't trust Steph I don't trust any of them. But Steph is a demon and you can't say that isn't true. Harriet is from another planet. Succubi have a history of being dangerous to humans. Harriet's kind doesn't have that history. I'm not a bigot to anything that isn't human. But Harriet scared me, how she looked, it was unlike anything she ever showed."

"I believe you," Benjamin said. "I hope I can prove to you Steph isn't who you think she is, but let's focus on Harriet. Do you think she will go after those two?"

"She looked serious when she talked about scaring them into submission. The way she grinned..." Mike sighed. "You probably don't want to protect those guys that did this, but..." Mike rakes his hair with his fingers, unsure of what to say next.

"But if Harriet will go through with it and other agents will see her or those two will tell what happened," Benjamin continued, "she will lose the trust of the agents and her entire team is at risk. The only reason Gaia and Steph are condoned as they are, is that an alien ally is leading that team. Because humans are more likely to accept an alien humanoid than a demon." He paused, thinking about it. "You saw the agents? You know who they are?"

"I never spoke to them, I don't know their names, but I have seen them before."

"Let's not mention them to the boss yet, we'll report the vandalizing and then go look for them."

Mike nodded and together they went on their way to the office of mr. Johnson.

"Not any different than an agent who caught a new disease or a demonic parasite," mr. Johnson said. "You are still an agent of our organisation and should be treated as such. Please go to Stuart Greyhill; he is the expert on demons and may know more about timberfae's."
