Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

Benjamin nodded. That had to be someone of the staff, but who? Just about every nurse he had talked with talked about taking his meds. At least it was narrowed down to 'an older woman'. It didn't matter much though, they would surely try again and there was nothing to be done about that.
"Did you know this would happen?" he asked Dia as he turned to face her. "Would her medicine have effected you too if you were with her?"

"Don't try to talk," the nurse told Ari. "Just relax and breath, okay Ray? That is all you have to do right now. You'll feel better once the medication wears off and the doctor will consult with the psychiatrist to alter your medication."
She checked to see if the mask was covering her mouth as it should and left again, leaving Ari by herself.

"Don't worry about it, okay?" Marc said. "It will be my gift to you." He pushed back his chair and rose. "I will go pay for the book and the consumptions," he said as he gently grabbed the book. "I'll be back soon."
He walked with the book to the counter and asked if he could pay. As he waited for the person behind the bar to enter everything into the cash register, he glanced over his shoulder to Sara.
A nice girl, he was glad he had taken the time to get to know her better. Although she had said some troubling things about the asylum they worked. He decided he'd look into it the next day.

I just had an idea :o what if Mike goes to Gaia and they flip the switch to make her go mental. Gaia trashes around which looks like an attack, Ethan and Morrison hear the roar and go check...
I'm with you. Sometimes there isn't much to say, but generally I prefer posts with multiple paragraphs over one short one.

It is your turn, yes :)
When you have a lot of active characters, the post gets longer :)

Happens in the Dragon Riders RP a lot. I think our longest posts are in that one.
"Timberfae," Stuart muttered. "Timberfae..." He went to his laptop to open a file. "Tell me about your transformation," he said as he gestured to an empty seat and he started typing, only pausing to examine the physical appearance of this agent.
While this was the first time ever seeing one, the name wasn't entirely unfamiliar. Maybe he had read a side-note somewhere, or a mention about these creatures. He couldn't recall, but he couldn't start this investigation without getting more data.

Benjamin hugged Steph back and had a smile for her. "Room 26 is for you now. If you want I'll help you move things."

"I'm going..." Mike began, but his voice trailed off. He didn't feel like he belonged here, not after all that happened, but at the same time he didn't know what else he could do, or where he should go. So he was left standing there to the side, feeling a bit awkward.
"I didn't tell a whole lot of people," Andy said. "A few people in the first village I came across. Only one guy believed me, the others claimed that if Articuno was in the area they would have certainly seen her. Maybe they were jealous and dismissed it because they didn't want it to be true." He shrugged to that. "My best friend believed me, he wasn't even envious. He was super excited about and ask me about every little detail. My brother believed me, but he had spotted Ho-oh once, flying through the sky. And professor Maple believed me, which was a bit of surprise."

"Of course not. I'm sure Niccia won't mind and I don't feel like we can order Li anyway." He turned to the Noivern. "We'll tell Niccia where you went. If you want to go, you can."
"And I can come get you when we need you!" Benny added. "I always found Merlin when Andy needed him, I'm sure I can find you."

"On Rhando we have a farm with Moomoo's, Mareep, Flaaffy and Wooloo," Mindy said. "The Rorie Islands all depend on that farm for our supply. I'm not sure where the cotton comes from, we import all cotton clothes."

She noticed a few ribbons with a shade of yellow and she pulled out her new dress to match the ribbons to the fabric. The shop cleric joined them and when Mindy said how much she wanted, the shop cleric cut it on length for her.
"That's it for me," she said to Niccia. "I'm going to pay for it."

Wise life-lessons.
The last book non-fiction I read was about when the island Texel was still a part of Fryslân. I doubt that will mean much to anyone here XD

The last work of fiction I read was the Star Trek TNG novel Oblivion.

Right now I'm reading The Letter For The King. I'm both reading it for myself and reading it to my son at the same time. (After watching Netflix butcher the book in the first episode of their adaptation I just had to read it again.)

While 1/3th of June is gone, we still have 2/3th of the month left to complete the stories and submit them!

Don't procrastinate too much, my fellow writers. You have a month, which means that if you finish fast you have time to properly proof-read your entry and improve your chances of winning! I found that I caught the most mistakes when I was able to put the story aside for a few days.

I look forward to seeing what stories you come up with.

Also, you can submit your entry anonymously if you want, but if you rather claim your story from the start that is good too! Just let me know in the PM with your entry if you want your name added to your story or if you wish to remain anonymous.
"I was told you've taken medication. Do you recall that?" Benjamin asked Ray as he sat down next to her. While she seemed confused, at least she seemed to remember things about her situation. That was good, it meant it would come back to her sooner or later. He glanced at Dia, but he couldn't help think about Dia too - he hoped she would be okay.

"Okay," the doctor said, looking from the mask to the monitor he had hooked Dia on. "If your oxygen saturation gets too low, I will need to do more, but right now we'll see if the extra oxygen will be enough."
He turned away to check something in the computer and another nurse came to write down some data from the screen before she too went to another patient who was in the infirmary.

Marc reached out to gently take Sara's arm. "If you want it, I can buy it for it. You can pay me back if that makes you feel better; I'm not a bank so you can pay whatever you can, for as long as it takes, without interest." He winked. "Or you can accept it as a gift. I don't mind, I can afford it."

Why wouldn't he help her out by buying it for her? Her story didn't sound like she got an actual paycheck as he did.
