Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

A minicontest will have a word as theme and people who want to join can submit a short story or poem of minimum 5 words and maximum 500 words. There is a one-week period to submit the work, then a week of voting. The voting period may be extended depending on the number of entries.
The aim of this contest is to deliver something short but strong. It can be a piece of purple prose or funny dialogue, a simple rhyme or an obscure form of poetry.

It's the last day of voting!

I won't close this thread after the deadline, so people who still want to submit feedback can, and the contestants can claim the works if they want to.

Benjamin nodded to Dia, then he turned his attention back on Rai. Her family. That probably meant she was somewhere before this institution with her mind.
"They can't harm you here," he told her. "I wish I could say you'll be safe here, but..." he made a helpless gesture with his arms and sighed. That was one promise he couldn't make.

He turned back to Dia. "Do you suppose we should try to get her back into her body?" he asked her. "I don't think the infirmary is a locked place, if one of us feigns an injury then the other can come along for support and we get Ray with her body." He examined Dia. "Or... we dress you up as a nurse. They don't know you, so you could walk around as a nurse, at least for a little while, without people getting suspicious. And I know where the clean laundry is kept."

Marc felt the brush of the hand and his heart rate spiked. Was it an accidental brush? Would she like her hand to be held? Was it too soon for holding her hand? He wanted to, but what if he took it and it really had been an accidental brush? He held his hand open and awkwardly touched one of her fingers. He had no objections to holding her hand, but he couldn't stop overthinking it.

@Silver If this theme sparked the idea for a story you can still write it; if it's not for a contest you can write it for yourself and I would still love to see what you did with the theme.

The next RPGC will start in August, but there will be a mini-contest between the voting period (which ends in two days) and the new RPGC.

I hope the next RPGC will be inspirational too.
But will she be flying with the dragon or on the dragon? Humans can't fly so my characters don't have that choice XD And Mikhal can't even fly on his companion.

That reminds me, how fast does she fly? Is she slower or faster or does she have the same speed as Mercury?
Will Ricky be a dragon rider, or a 'with dragons flier'?
Do you have things you want to RP before Starfall?

I have nothing for after the gym battle, and if you don't have anything either maybe we could jump to Starfall? It was just a few more days away, right?
"Bear, Focus Energy," Andy said and Bear took a defensive stance as he started glowing with a blue hue.
"Defense Curl," Whitney ordered and the Miltank rolled herself up.
"Low kick!" Andy ordered and Bear ran forward to Low-Lick the Miltank, who fell back.
Whitney did not look worried. "Rollout," she ordered and the Miltank immediately curled up to roll around. She hit Bear and then rolled through the arena back to Bear.
"Karate Chop!" Bear jumped up to do the move, but when he collided with the spinning Miltank it didn't break her path and he got thrown back.

Andy had noticed someone else was watching the fight, but he kept his attention on his Primeape. This rollout was hard to break, and he knew it would only get stronger.

Michael nodded, that last bit sounded like an official part humans didn't have a part in, but they could always move out of ear-shot when the legendaries wanted to talk about the things that were important for them.
"I can't wait," he said. "It sounds like an amazing thing to witness."

"I see," Mabel said. "If you are allowed to, maybe I can show you some places I like. I'm allowed to fly freely." She gestured to her pendant. "When Mindy needs me, she'll call for me and I'm fast enough to quickly join her. I never travel too far from her anyway."

"Hurting people will cost points though," Mindy said. "The Pokémon have to show they are in control of their moves. It takes some practice to get a good routine going that is also safe for bystanders, but it's well worth it. When I started practising with Blaze, we sometimes accidentally put things of fire." Mindy laughed a bit. "But we got better at it."
She took a bag and filled it with various snacks.
Five more days for the voting period. I want to thank all the people who left a vote and a review so far.

And remember: you may post here or PM me if you wish it to be anonymous.
"Do you remember who hurt you?" Benjamin asked Ray. He still wasn't sure whether she was reliving old memories or if this was about what got Ari and her into this state.

He glanced at Dia as she fell back. "You three are an unusual case," he said. "Nothing about your existence is normal, so it seems logical more abnormal things will happen to you."

On top of being here, there was the unusual past of Ray, Dia and Ari that made everything more complicated, but at least it was never boring around them. And having them to keep him occupied, this place was something he could deal with.

Marc noticed Sara had stopped and smiled when he noticed she gazed at the stars. He waited patiently for her to finish. "It's okay," he said. "If you'd rather just go to a bench and sit that's fine too." It was sad to hear she hadn't seem them for so long. That couldn't be right. How could patients get better if they got outside less than prisoners? Didn't places like this have vacations for the patients to go home for a few days? He promised himself he'd look into it.
