Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

It's august 10th, so we're at 1/3th of the contest. Looking forward to receiving entries.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Ethan examined the device and while he was no tech-head, even he could see that wasn't supposed to be there and it shouldn't be making that sound.
"Nah, you're fine. You shook up Mike a bit, but he'll live. You know you have something on your back?" he asked as he pulled a swiss army knife from his pocket. "I'll see if I can get it loose."

He moved to the device and tried to pry it loose with the knife, careful not to cut into the scales. It took him a moment, but it came loose and once it was in his hand he looked at it, showed it to Gaia and Morrison. Then he dropped it on the ground and stomped on it, hoping that would finally make the device shut up.

Mr. Johnsson kept an eye on everything through the security camera of the hallway. He grumbled to himself that they were losing the device, but at least they learned from this. It worked, but it couldn't deal with electricity. That meant he had to speak with the person who made it and the person who had first tried it out.

That female agent had been part of the initial test, she could shed some light on the case. There was the incident with the cocoon of course, but surely she was up and functional by now. He sent her an order through text message.
*come to my office now*

The same order was sent to the person who had put the device together.
"I don't know yet, but we'll see," Benjamin whispered to Ray as he followed Dia but he stopped when he noticed the male nurse. "What makes you think we're planning anything?" he asked.
He wasn't quite sure what the best way to respond was, but unless he knew more about the direction this conversation was going, he wouldn't admit to anything that could get him into trouble.

"You really don't have to be sorry you were sheltered," Marc said. "It's the people who did the sheltering who were wrong for doing that."
He gave a gentle and reassuring squeeze in her hand. "On the bright side, you have a lot more fun things to try for a first time now. That's an upside, isn't it?"

The mood swings was something he had to keep in mind; that had happened a few times now and he now knew to be careful with his words. It kinda proved for him there was a reason why she was in the asylum, but it wasn't anything proper medication couldn't handle. Still, he wouldn't bring that up. He didn't want it to backfire like it had the first time.

"So, are there any thing you heard about and think will be fun, but never tried before?" he asked her.
"And with Arceus telling you all to stay away from humans, our reputation probably wasn't very good to begin with," Michael said. "I don't really foresee trouble, but Mitch did need a nap."
"You could have asked me if he didn't want to rest," Benny said. "Andy often praises the quality of my sleeping powder." He chuckled. "Unless it wears off too soon. Then he always wants to have a talk about the quality of my powder."

Ethan slowly approached Gaia. "I'm glad you recognise me. Now, I'll have a look at your back," he eyed her tail, "so keep your tail in check."
That sound was annoying, and maybe it affected her more; just like dogs could hear high whistles and didn't deal well with fireworks. But where did it come from? He had seen her gnaw at something. A bug between her scales?
He carefully went around her. "Where is it troubling you?" he asked her.

Morrison shook Harriets hand off his arm, glaring at her. He didn't need an alien who was completely dark and spoke in a weird language touching him.

"We'll improvise," Benjamin said. He didn't have it all planned out, but with a bit of luck they would get to the laundry room before running into any nurses.
When Dia suddenly got pulled away, Benjamin stopped, looked at the hallway and then rushed in to see who had grabbed Dia and for what reason.

Marc blinked when Sara asked the questions. "I... didn't realise you had been sheltered that much," he said. "An arcade is a place with electronical games. Karaoke is a bar where people can sing songs. It's where people often go to for amusement in the evening, after dinner or a drink. Or they go to the movies." He paused as he thought about other things people did for fun after dinner. "Some like to go on indoor roller skating or bowling, but I can't roller skate. Bowling can be fun, but not with two. You need a bigger group for that."
Ethan is all for throwing punches, but don't you dare slap a poor defenceless dragon girl XD
"Right, thank you for your cooperation," Stuart said as he took the piece of paper. "I will contact you when I have questions or discover something interesting. I'll finalize the report and we'll be in touch. Best of luck to you and your boyfriend." He nodded to Jase and then focussed on the laptop as he started to type. It didn't look like he had more to say at this point.

"Hey!" Ethan said when Harriet slapped Gaia. "Obviously she's not like this, she already told me she was afraid and in pain and that there was danger. Instead of slapping her, maybe look at what she was gnawing at?" He joined Harriet, sending her an angry look. "That sound you hear, that started when she was hit the with the electric bullet." He turned to Gaia. "Let me have a look. Okay? Can I come closer?"

Morrison approached Gaia too now that she was calmer. He too heard the electronic scream. Obviously the electrical discharge had caused something to malfunction. He still thought the beast was a liability, but maybe in this instance it wasn't her own nature they could blame.

"Then we learned how to use electricity and weren't reliant on the light of the sun anymore," Michael added. Then Soul entered and he listened to what he had to say. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, Varina. This city is fantastic, it's unlike I ever saw as well."
Staying here for a few days had definitely been a good decision.
He turned to Mitch. "Soul is here," he told him. "Maybe instead of coffee you can take a nap. We can keep an eye on the cousins. I think that will be better. You can still have a coffee after the nap to help you wake up."

Lytse nodded to show he agreed with Michael. "You take some rest, we'll protect Frosiien for you." he said
"This way," Benjamin said, stepping outside. "They have their own laundry room and they have staff who are responsible for washing and drying everything. The janitor was talking about it, how the nursing staff and kitchen staff and the maintenance staff work alongside each other and don't really interact much." He glanced at Dia. "He also mentioned that there are only two places they don't have to clean: the kitchen and the basement. He could understand the kitchen, the kitchen staff is responsible for cleaning that. But he found it odd they don't have to do any cleaning or maintenance in the basement, which supposedly holds medical supplies."

"Like an arcade?" Marc asked. "There are several bars and restaurants open, but they aren't really fun. Well, a karaoke bar can be fun I suppose, but I'm not a big fan of karaoke..." He rubbed his neck with his free hand as he said that. While he knew people who enjoyed it, he didn't feel like singing in front of a crowd.
