Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

The art contest I mentioned will be moved to november to give our artists a chance to focus on Inktober:

https://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/183754-inktober-2020/ooc

The next Writing Contest will start on Monday 5 October.
It is Inktober and for those who haven't heard of it yet, here is what it's about: https://inktober.com/rules

Artists who want to join Inktober this year can find the prompts here and you can post your works in this thread, or link to the social media where you upload it.

If you feel inspired by these prompts but don't do inkt, we can have our little unofficial Paintober too (and you can share your works of art as well), but remember that the goal of Inktober is to use inkt.

I enjoy being one :) I always had joined the writing contests and now I'm the one organising them.

That sounds like a cool job. How did it go?

I'll be replying to rp's this weekend. I've been focussing on writing a Harry Potter fanfic and RP's got pushed to the side a little. I should be able to finish the fanfic today and then go back to roleplaying :)
The almost run-in startled Benjamin, but he grinned and folded his fingers around Dia's hand as she grabbed his. "She's fine. Let's get out of here." He followed Dia to the door, feeling a whole lot better now that Ray was well again and he had Dia with him. As they walked out he glanced at the clock and almost cursed.

"I bet they're already serving dinner," he said. "We better hurry. But we need to figure out how we can let you blend in with the rest. It might be suspicious to have an unknown patient."

Marc went to a few games that had a screen and a plastic gun mounted in front of it. He gave Sara a new coin and he inserted one in the machine. "The aim is to kill the monsters that show up," he told her as the game came to life. "Good luck," he added with a wink.
Benjamin turned to Steph when he heard her words and had a smile for her before he opened the door and stepped inside. As he had expected, the room was the same as his and the one Steph had before.
A new start. Hopefully Steph would be more at ease now she had her new room; she needed a place where she could rest after an emotional day like today. Maybe he could buy a small gift for her.

Stuart wrote down the characteristics as he examined Rose's body with a professional eye. Once he had written down what he needed to and took some obligatory pictures, he told Rose she could get dressed again.
"The agency can tailor some new uniforms for you," he informed her. "Please keep me informed about any changes you noticed: dietary, sleep pattern, habits. You are free to go and if I have additional questions I will know where to find you."

"That's not important right now," Alex said. "Let's focus on building this fence. You got quite a terrain that will need to be closed off." He nodded to the talking spider and continued with his work.

"Okay, fine," Penalopy replied. "The problem won't go away because no-one wants to brings it up though~" she added cheerfully. "I'll see you outside again!"
She floated to James and together they went outside.

Michael greeted Mindy when she joined them, and sat in silence because Mindy sat down next to Niccia to talk with her. It was good to see them get along; Mindy was a friend after all. He picked up his Cyndaquil, who seemed really nervous about it all and tickled him a bit.
"Will you be in your true form during StarFall?" he asked Frosiien, not paying much attention to the girls next to him.

"I'm going to get breakfast first and then..." she moved a little closer to Niccia. "Change into the dress I bought for this occasion," she whispered. "Then I'll be ready for today. Maybe we can both go to our rooms after I ate and let the boys wait outside for us."
To give a sneak preview of what is to come in the last months of 2020:

In October there will be a new RPGC writing contest and even though the last art contest didn't go very well, I'm going to host a new one. Maybe this one will go better.

In November there will be no contest on the site as it is NaNoWriMo.

At the beginning of December there will be a microfiction and poetry contest again, keeping the rest of December free for the holidays.

And we'll start the new year big with both an RPGC and an Art contest.

So keep an eye on the sidebar and the Writing Contest and Gallery subforums :)

The doctor gave a curt nod and turned to his work again.

"Right," Benjamin said. "Ray, you stay in bed and when the doctor notices you are fine again he will discharge you. Come look for us when you are free again." He glanced over his shoulder. "Ari will stay with you, Dia can't. She's not a spirit at the moment and they will notice she is here." He placed his hand on her arm and showed a friendly smile. "Take care, we'll see you two soon."

He stepped back, looked around for nurses and went to find Dia so they could quickly leave before the medical staff would ask annoying questions.

"You did great," Marc said as he took his tickets too. He was glad Sara seemed to be enjoying herself here. It was good to remember. Maybe next time they could go bowling or something.
"Would you care for another game?" he asked as he looked around. "A shooter perhaps? I'd challenge you to dance battle, but I really suck at that game." He laughed a bit as he rubbed the back of his neck. "You'd beat me within a minute."
