Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

Rudrig frowned as he listened to Rose. "Headquarters. But why would they want to grab Freya?" That didn't make any sense. Freya was just another agent and unless she broke the rules she wouldn't be arrested.
With the phone between his shoulder and cheek he started packing some things in a briefcase, big enough for his laptop and some files he wanted to bring along. The rest could stay here; none of it was essential.

Benjamin and Mike examined Freya for a moment. It was odd to see her so defensive. What did she have to fear? Or was she stealing and had they caught her in the act?
"We're not here to take you," Benjamin said. "Why would someone take you? Are you stealing all that?" He noticed his phone buzz and he quickly looked at the message.
"We're just here for the gems," Mike added, showing the one he had found. "Harriet is the one collecting them, they are dangerous for humans. If you give them to us, we'll make sure they end up with Harriet." Although he wouldn't give it to her; that was for Ben or Ethan.
Okay, so I'll play:

Ho-oh
Entei
Jirachi
Kyogre
Dialga & Palkia
Latios
Regice, Regigias & Regieleki
Deoxys neutral & defence
Manaphy & Phione
Ground Shaymin
Heatran
Aria Meloetta
Cobalion, Terrakion & Virizon
Thunderus, Tornadus & Landorus
Kyurem
Genesect
Xerneas
Diance
Volcanion
Tapu Koko & Fini
Solegeo
Cosmog
Magearna
Zeraora
Dark Urshifu
Calyrex
Zerude
Zamazenta

Since I'll be playing the sea duo, you can keep the melted metal duo.
Phione is like a child of Manaphy, right?
Ah, you write never as newer. It took me a moment to realise it.
Why have you decided to do that?

And the italics for talking, is that a style choice? Usually people use italics for thoughts, so it took me a bit to get used to the curisive sentences being spoken words.

Overall though, I like this story. It's mysterious.
I just reached the 50k \o/

I had planned on a few timeskips in my story, one going from our time to a 150 years from now. And then a big timeskip to 2000 or 3000 years in the future.

It took me all the 50k to write about the adventures of my ageless people in the current setting and the near-future dystopia XD

So now I summarized what happened between the near-future dystopia and the iceage and with the end of that summary I reached 50018 words. Now I'll use the rest of NaNoWriMo to explore the hunter-gatherers and the ageless ones living among these tribes. Looking forward to this part.

But wow, that dystopia-part took me longer to tell than I had anticipated.
It's okay, don't worry about it. I can deal with slow replies ^_^
You know there are names there I don't even know? XD Got some background research to do as I'm barely familiar with the legendaries post Kalos, but sure.

Your Heatran has a quiet nature, but I'm going to play him a bit grumpy. When I look at him I just see a grumpy Pokémon. And I like playing grumpy characters XD

And I was thinking that if I take Calyrex that you could take both Glastier and Spectier.

"Zarude are social and live in packs. They're usually incredibly aggressive, and frighten most other Pokémon; excelling in battle with their sharp claws and quick wit."
Sound like Mankey. I think Bear will make a Mythical friend ^_^ Or rival...

Since you play a few full sets, like the kanto and galarian bird siblings, maybe I can take a full set too. The Forces of Nature or the Swords of Justice perhaps?

Also, are there any characteristics of the legendaries that I'll be playing that I have to keep in mind? They are your babies and I want to do them justice.

I'm looking forward to play Jirachi, that's my favourite legendary. And I have plans for Ho-Oh...
In my own writing I had picked Ho-oh as the special Legendary for Michael, his Cyndaquil and his father, so this is perfect.
Now that all legendaries are getting together, are there more you'd like me to play?
I'll go over 50k with my story as well and I plan to keep going until the story reaches a good point to wrap things up, or when I run out of ideas to go further with it.

Last time I ended with 63k words for my story, so you don't have to stop at 50k if you have more to tell. But the good thing is that you reached the goal and you are a winner, so if you want to take a day to read it from the beginning and then continue you have the time to do that. I re-read small parts of my novel during November too, usually from the beginning of the chapter I'm working on to get back into the story.

NaNoWriMo is about writing a novel, and to me it feels best if I can finish that novel during November. There is plenty of time to read what you wrote afterwards. And there is also a NaNoWriMo month dedicated to editing the novel: Now What?

Now What?
So you wrote a novel… now what? This January and February, we’re providing resources, events, and tips to help you on your revision and publishing journeys.

I know one thing for sure. The moment they reach the dwarves Trevor is going to find the nearest ale vendor and not care one bit about the young king trying his best diplomacy with the dwarven king.
Nine more days and NaNoWriMo is over. Who is still writing?
