Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

Benjamin thought back to his night and the dreams he had. There was only one that had lingered long enough in his mind to recall. And he began to tell it:

"I was cooking in a kitchen - in my dream it felt like my kitchen, but it was really modern and bright and we don't have a kitchen like that at home - and I was making a stew. For some reason I was adamant it needed strawberries and we didn't have strawberries, so I asked my sister to get some. She came back with blueberries and I send her away for strawberries again, and then she came back with blackberries. And the third time she had raspberries. And then I found some strawberries in the oven - I don't know how they got there - and put those in the stew."

He finished the last of his tea. "Now that I'm awake it sounds absolutely disgusting to put strawberries in a stew," he laughed a bit and shrugged, "but in my dream it seemed to make sense."

Small talk was hard and coming up with mutual interests with a legendary Pokémon was equally difficult. Still, Michael tried. "And you have your guardian to keep you company as well, right?" He had always thought the life of a legendary Pokémon was lonely, but that was before he learned each had a Pokémon companion with them. "Which ones is yours?" he asked as he glanced over the many Guardians.

Bear plopped down on the ground. "I have nothing to dooooooo," he groaned. "I thought this party would be exciting, with maybe some battles or games. But everyone is just talking..." He lay down and looked at the stars above. My life-force is draining..."
"Quit being so melodramatic," Merlin scolded him when he landed next to him. "This is the perfect opportunity to show off your intellectual skills and have a decent conversation with someone."
Bear huffed and gestured the Noctowl had to leave. "Let me die in peace."

The Cyndaquil watched Bear being melodramatic about the boredom before turning his head to Bia. "Rainbow Cyndaquil, yes. That's what I am. It's a mutation of sorts, I think. It's triggered by something external, but Andy believes it is in part genetic. That every Cyndaquil potentially can change, but many never trigger the change, because they don't know about it or don't want to. And he also thinks Ho-oh might have been involved with it, since rainbows are also his thing, but that has always been an unprovable theory."

Netherlu gently nodded and made an agreeing sound. "It depends on the human, probably. And Pokémon are the same; some are accepting of those who look different, others cast them out." He rose to his feet as he pushed the chair back. "But I'm going to eat, I am famished."

Nethan nodded slowly as he examined the new Mewtwo. "I see," he said and he faced Gavin once more. "And? Are you planning on staying in your human form and travel around, or do you want to go back to your spot?"

"This pastry is amazing," Mindy commented as she ate, listening to Xanpher. "And that is really interesting."
She moved to take a second pastry, because why not? She walked through the country most of the days, she could handle a day of eating nothing but pastries if she wanted to.

Andy walked with Frosiien towards Latias. "That may be true," he told her, "but I can't use anything they will tell me for my research without having any observational evidence to support it, because no-one will believe it without that."
As they walked he took a moment to see where his team was; Kim had brought some food to the Lapras and Onix of Mindy, Benny was flying around being a happy little Butterfree he always was, and Bear seemed to have given up on doing anything. Nothing new there.
Mitch examined the weapon in his hands; it resembled a rifle. Was this the famous flesh-eating gun? It was disappointing to hear it didn't exactly do that. Covered in moss sounded rather tame, but he supposed it would have its use. Well, acidic moss, so depending on the actual acidity it probably wouldn't be a great experience for the one covered by it.
"And what do those spores do?" he asked.
He didn't like to gamble and those spores sounded like something he wouldn't have control over. And Lydral had been enthusiastic about this? He wasn't swept off his feet just yet.

An agent walked to the tank and tapped on the glass. "Kid, you got what you wanted. A room on the 4th floor."
He didn't seem enthusiastic about being there, but it was his job now.

Meanwhile, Lily returned to the scientific area of the 4th floor and made a round, watching through the windows. "How are my darlings doing?" she asked and then listened to the reports of the scientists who had been tasked with observing them.
"Bring some cake to their recreational area," she said. "I asked the kitchen to bake a large chocolate cake. Go fetch it and bring it there."
One of her underlings left to do what was told and Lily went to a speaker. She pushed the button and brought her lips closer to the microphone.
"Oh darlings," her voice sounded through the speaker. "In ten minutes there will be cake for you in the recreational area in the floor above yours. Enjoy~"
Benjamin finished his meal and leaned back, crossing his arms as he glanced in the room. His eyes settled on the patients that just stared in the distance. Ray had looked like that too. Had they gotten the same medication? It was a shame he couldn't look into it; he had no access to those files. And he wasn't sure they would let Sara access those files either. Was she a registered nurse, or just a member of the staff helping out? Where was she anyway?

He shook his head; too many questions. "I'd engage in some small-talk," he said to Ray. "But that's hard to do if you can't see the weather or watch any news. I feel isolated from the world and I have no idea what's going on outside."
"I read about you," Michael said as he took Saveri's hand to shake it. "A pleasure to meet you."
He noticed a snout sticking out from under the tablecloth, but it got pulled in when a Buffalo waked past. He didn't recognise the snout immediately, but it was probably one of the Guardians. He turned to Saveri again. "I reckon it's the children of Ho-oh you see most regularly?" he asked.

"That's sad," Lytse said. He couldn't imagine what that must have felt like and he was glad Michael wasn't like that. "I can't evolve," he mentioned. "I sometimes worry about it, because Michael has seen what my species can evolve into. But he isn't a competitive trainer, so he probably doesn't mind."
Suddenly Bear jumped next to him and the startled Cyndaquil squeaked. "So," Bear said, looking at Bia. "Is this just another boring talking party?"

"I was talking about our children," Netherlu replied with a grin. "I was just thinking, Pokémon have special attacks, so if our children mate with a Pokémon, their offspring can have some abilities that one would normally only find in legendary or mythical Pokémon. But humans don't have any special abilities, so it just had me wondering... what if a human mates with a legendary Pokémon in human form. I don't know if it ever happened before. Would it produce a human with paranormal abilities? Or a half-human, half-Pokémon? Or nothing because they aren't compatible for breeding?" He eyed Andy and Frosiien. "And if it's the last, the humans should at least be aware of the possibility. Getting offspring is important for most."

"I'm surprised you're okay with Xapher keeping your friend away from you," Nethan said, not willing to answer the questions Gavin asked. "You bring a friend and you're still by yourself." He glanced to the girl that stayed close to Arceus. "Who's that? She kinda looks familiar, but I've never seen her before."

Mindy turned to face Xapher. "Oh, he was one of my teachers at the academy. He is family of Niccia's boyfriend Michael. And I'm a friend of Michael. So we are all connected in a way." She bit down in a delicious looking pastry. "Do legendary Pokémon have family?" she asked. "You're created instead of birthed, right?"

Andy took a moment to observe the crowd around them; all legendary Pokémon in human form were chatting with each other. "Well, I already met the best so it can only be disappointing from here on. And most of my interest is research-based in nature and this is really not the place to do that. So, instead I would just like to meet your friends."

I thought a little time-skip would be best. I didn't have anything special planned for the three hours. You can write out what happened in those three hours for your characters, but for mine it's nothing special.
Lily watched through the window, knowing Steph couldn't see her and was using the reflection of the mirror to look at herself. Something extraordinary had happened and she quickly wrote down some keywords. From here she too could see the pink she hadn't seen before. It was a shame there was glass between them, she wanted to touch Steph. Maybe later, first her darling had to settle in and feel at ease here.

Meanwhile some goats were pushed into Gaia's room and the door was locked behind them. The confused animals were bleating as they walked through the room in search of food.

It wasn't difficult to diagnose this; Daz had died. The doctor decided to do an autopsy to discover what the damage had been and he ordered the body to be put on the bed again and to roll it to the autopsy room.

The agent left the infirmary to report to their boss.
"So, she is missing," mr Johnson said. "She will come out of hiding. I will return to the base soon, but the evacuation will continue. Too many rogue agents; Freya is missing, Rose got transformed and they are a liability. I will be there in three hours."

When the three hours were over, Mitch went to Duncan's house. Mike and Benjamin went into the city to eat something and catch a movie; there was no reason why they wouldn't enjoy themselves if they weren't allowed to go on a dangerous mission.

Since Mitch was allowed to enter without knocking, he did. He did make his presence known by calling for Duncan.
"Is the flash drive ready?" he asked as he made his way to the living room.

Benjamin frowned slightly as he examined Ray. Why was her first assumption Dia had done something to Ari? He decided he could ask about it, but not now. He reminded himself that Ray hadn't been herself yesterday and missed much of the development.
An in-depth conversation about her spirits getting tangible was not suitable for this place. It was the kind of crazy-talk that could get either of them on a harsher treatment.

"We're going to have to bring you up to speed with a few things," he said, not wanting to stay completely silent on the matter. "But we'll do so in a more private setting."
They only had their rooms for that; this place had no other quiet places without any members of the staff around.
