Chiyoko laughed softly at the question if they wouldn't kill her. "That's what your agency does: dispose of demons that are a threat to humans." She had a cold look in her eyes. "Humans are my prey, so I have no ill feelings towards your agency for seeing me as a threat, but I value my life and I will defend it. Or bargain for it. In this case the latter happened." She smiled as she turned to look at Steph who had gone to the pole. "But you situation is different from mine," she added. "You are an agent, I was always an enemy. I don't doubt they wil dispose of me as soon as I have no use anymore, so I will continue to be of use for them."

Ethan offered a hand to Harriet for support. Why she reacted so lightly to the black goo - seemingly not even worried about the possibility of those being organs - was beyond his understanding.
"Where can you contact your father?" he asked her. "The old base is evacuated, but I don't know what happened to your personal belongings."

Benjamin listened as Ari and Dia talked; he felt a hint of annoyance when Dia recalled Ray had been ready to attack her. It was the last thing he had expected to see and if he had to choose he would side with Dia. Now he felt for both spirits. He knew Sara was standing behind him and probably needed the comfort, but he was also certain they weren't in danger here.

He stepped forward and first stopped near Ari, gently taking her shoulder for a moment. "We'll visit Ray later and see if we can work this out somehow. It's amazing you're solid too."
Having said that, he continued to Dia and sat down next to her so he could take her in his arms. Seeing her cry was one of the most painful things he had experienced so far.

A guard looked through the barred window. "The psychiatrist will evaluate first, then she'll decide if you can leave or not," he told her curtly. "Attacking someone of the staff is not something we take lightly, especially with your history."

Michael gave Missy a pat on the head. Now he had 4 small Pokémon with him, all in various stages of nervousness of what was happening.
"No, so stay close to me," he told the Poochyena, but it was a message for all four.
Lytse didn't need that encouragement and glanced around as he stood sat down close to Michael. Anthony settled on Michael's shoulder and his head shifted repeatedly as he tried to keep an eye on both Arceus and the gate.

"It will," Gathaar said, but he didn't sound as confident as he had wanted. Hantaar didn't even say he believed it had worked - he wanted to believe it, but he didn't want to say something he wasn't confident with.
They both watched Soul walk to Niccia and Lecrero.

Nethan had observed what was going on with Arceus and Mew, but it looked like Yalgai and her brothers already assisted there, so he decided to go to the gate. He had seen the unwelcome guest and he walked over, carefully, ready to act when needed.

"I have nothing to say to you," Ra growled back. "Why did you come?"
His muscles were tense, ready to jump into action at the first sign of his brother's attack. Why had he come to ruin this party? It had been going so well. Well, minus whatever was going on with Lecrero and Niccia.

"Oh, Ari." Benjamin grinned at the hug, but his eyes were on Dia. "That's great. I'm happy for you."
He gently pulled her arms away - he understood the excitement and he really was happy for her, but there was more on his mind and he couldn't share the same enthusiasm. "Is this why Ray lost her connection with you?" he asked Ari. "She suddenly flipped out and accused Dia of doing something to you."

It was somewhat reassuring to hear he was trying his best, but it sucked his best wasn't good enough to do something. He glanced at his uncle, who stood with his arms crossed and kept an eye on his Pokémon. He seemed okay with not doing much more than observing.
He returned to his Cyndaquil and Eros, and sat down with him. His other Pokémon, who had realised things had gone wrong, joined him. Anthony, still young and inexperienced, decided the best thing to do was to stay close to him.
Saruya, on the other hand, turned to him and asked: "Is there anything you'd like me to do?"
"Something is going on at the gate, two Legendary Pokémon turned into their Pokémon form and uncle send his Pokémon there as well."[/i]
The Arcanine nodded and rushed to offer her assistance there.

Gathaar and Handeer followed suit and summoned their items. It looked like they'd have to fight and neither was looking forward to it.
Gathaar narrowed his eyes when he noticed Ra and Luna had transformed to their original form again; the wouldn't do that without good reason.
But if Arceus was dark and another threat came through that gate, there would have to fight.
"Necrozoma..." Handeer said as he looked in that direction. He had expected Darkrai, but Necrozoma was equally unwelcome.

"Arceus is allowed to invite who we wants," Ra growled. "Don't tell me you don't know why you weren't invited."
He noticed other Pokémon joined him, Pokémon he had seen on the party and of who he knew belonged to the Humans. He wouldn't tell them to go away. "Be careful," he instructed them.

Chiyoko smiled politely. "Nukekubi," she stated. "They caught me as I was feeding and Lily took an interest in me. I probably would have been disposed of if that hadn't been the case." She sipped from the water. "I've seen some come and go, and my suggestion is to just cooperate with them. It's not so bad when you do. But since you're agents, I'm sure you'll be treated well. I offered to work for them, but so far they haven't gotten back to me about that."
She only glanced briefly at the dragon woman taking the boy with her - that was still something she didn't understand. Why was a boy here? It didn't seem like anything Lily would take an interest in.

"We're in town, I've been hunting vampires." He examined her for a moment. "You look like shit, what the hell happened? When you left you looked like you were going to murder people." He was about to say something about Steph and Gaia, but he decided Harriet was better off focussing on herself now.

He didn't notice agent Barrow walking away from the group and take his phone to send a text to the boss that Harriet had returned and seemed in a confused state of mind. Agent Morrison stayed with them and just watched Ethan and Harriet with his arms crossed over his chest.

He knew it was best to check on dia and Ari first, and that he shouldn't rush to Ray right now, but a part of him still wanted to go there.

It wasn't long before they reached Ray's room and after making sure no-one of the staff was around - he had no business in Ray's room with her in isolation - he opened the door and quickly stepped inside.

His eyes settled on the two women who used to be transparent. "What happened?" he asked, moving his eyes from Dia, although they lingered there for a moment, to Ari.

The Entries

Should I or shouldn’t I.

Silently a figure made their way through the house. Pausing when the sounds in the living room suggested someone got up. Pushing the door open hardly made any sounds and carefully closing the door made sure no one heard.
The dishes were stacked in the sink and on the counter, they would not be bothered till the next day.
Carefully making way across the kitchen without a sound, and eyes fixated on the object of desire, the far end of the kitchen was reached.
Stretching an arm and tightly grabbing the handle to not let go.
The door opened with only a minor squeak and the lightbulb inside instantly shone brightly.
A hand reached in tentatively before it withdrew again.

“I’m so hungry,” a voice said while the eyes were going over all the deliciousness, some leftover cold chicken, a piece of pie, some custard and some labeled plastic containers.
‘Dinner was plentiful,’

“Maybe just a little bite, I’m still hungry.”
‘It’s not real hunger, it’s just having an appetite for a snack'

The hand hovered over the cold chicken before moving to the pie.
A quick glance around learned that the only one witnessing was a very judgemental cat.
“Stop staring, I’m doing nothing wrong.”

“Meow”

“You’re just annoyed you can’t get some chicken yourself, now hush.”
‘Awesome, talking to the cat like it’ll understand. Doing great there...’
“All right, what should I take? The pie sure was good. Always room for custard” going over the options, speaking as quietly as possible.

The slamming of a nearby door was startling but it was the bathroom door down the hall and no one entered the kitchen. With a sigh of relief the attention was centered back to the content in the haven of yumminess, the keeper of deliciousness, harbourer of fantastic leftovers.

One of the plastic containers got opened; some leftover salad. It was good but not as great as the pie or custard, or chicken. The other one contained some mashed potatoes, not the best to eat cold, that could be saved till breakfast. The others had some leftover ingredients to make the salad in the first container. With a chuckle the lid got placed on the container again.
“I’m not a rabbit, no greens for me.”
‘Greens are healthy though, wouldn’t be the worst choice. It would be a wiser choice than pie or custard.’

A little shiver of cold halted the inspection. “Should have taken a sweater.” got uttered hushed.
‘Or close the door and walk away, tummy is full and the sweet tooth doesn’t need to be filled, just close the door and walk away!’

The cat came closer and looked interested to the chicken.

“No back off, my chicken.”

“Meow.” a paw stretched to take a swing at the chicken.

“No, down, away.” Nudging the cat away, the door got closed quickly.

After a stare showdown the cat backed away offendedly and it started grooming itself.

Feeling victorious, the door to the fridge opened again. “Finally!”
Reaching, getting closer to the prize.

The door to the living room opened. “Can you grab another bottle of wine?” a voice shouted from the hallway.

With a deep sigh the door to the fridge closed again and the hand that almost had the little bite to eat grabbed the requested bottle instead.
‘Well darn...’

The voice within

Death…

I sigh as I hear the voice echo through my head. Ever since I tried out one of those spells from that old book I found at the flea market, this voice speaks to me. And always in these unspecific nouns or verbs. What does it even mean with death?

Kill…

Kill? Kill what? That person standing next to me, waiting for the bus? That spider crawling on the pole? The pigeon eating some scraps from the street? Is this voice warning me that the pigeon will be killed by an incoming bus and be dead soon?

Kill…

The bus stops – luckily the pigeon managed to fly away just in time – and I enter it, taking place next to a lovely old woman, who smiles politely at me.

Murder…

What? Do I need to murder someone? Has that sweet old lady murdered someone? It’s possible of course, you never know what lurks behind an innocent appearance.
I ignore the voice as I always do. Sometimes it’s silent for a few hours, sometimes it says something every minute. It’s not bad though, I kinda like having a companion with me at all times, even though this one could work on its eloquence.
The voice stays silent during the bus ride. Maybe they’re enjoying the view. Maybe they’re scared of the old lady next to me. I don’t know, and I don’t really care either.

A few stops later I exit the bus and buy a hotdog before heading into the park. A man is walking his dog, or is the dog walking his owner?

Blood…

It’s ketchup really, I think to myself as I bite down in the hotdog. Maybe this entity has never seen ketchup before? I pity it if that’s the case.

Death…

Not only does it lack eloquence, its vocabulary if awfully limited. Maybe I can upgrade it with a second ritual, add some words it can use. Maybe I should have sacrificed more than my goldfish.

A pigeon swoops in and steals the last of my hotdog.

Murder…

Now I agree, that bloody bird deserves to be murdered. But, it is long gone now.

I get up and continue my walk through the park as I think back to the day this voice came to me. The ritual was actually rather simple: draw a symbol, sacrifice something (I really shouldn’t have picked that bloody goldfish), and say the words. It had gotten really dark for a moment and then I had heard it for the first time. And during the first hour it just wouldn’t shut up. Death, murder, blood, torture, kill, dismember. Either my goldfish had some deep resentment towards me, or this entity is just demanding things without telling me who or why or how. I don’t even like blood; it’s so sticky and it leaves terrible stains.

Now I am stuck with it, but it doesn’t do any harm. It’s good not living alone anymore; that goldfish was a lousy companion, this one talks at least.

Torture…

Sure, dude, I’ll torment my neighbour later and put on some loud music. Death metal?

Death…
