Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

I don't really have anything interesting planned for the night. Shall we move on to the morning for that appointment Benjamin has? Ethan would meet them at dusk, and then he'd go to bed and the guys would meet April, I think?
@Badger Puff Sure! Do you want to discuss it further through PM?
Really? This I gotta see.

Keep an eye on the sidebar then, on the 10th the entries will be posted.
@Badger Puff I have a male OC that is a Magizoologist and has a teaching job at Hogwarts as Ethics teacher. He was in Hufflepuff at the same time as Snape was in Slytherin.
Already received the first entry ^_^

(How cool would it be if we'd get 10 for this one?)

Microfiction and poetry contest #10 – Ten!

This will be the 10th version of this contest, so maybe you can write something to celebrate that. Or take it literally and write an epic poem to praise the number 10.

Or write about any subject you like, but following this format:
10 lines, start with 1 word on line one and add one word on every line so that you will end with 10 words on line 10.

Or be brave and combine them all! Regardless, I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Heroes from the sky, Fenna wasn't sure how she felt about that title. Sure, rescueing a little girl could be considered a heroic act, but they were somehow meant save a whole more than just this village. With a grim expression she made one promises to herself: if it would lead to a way back home, she'd save the entire damn universe.

There was no reason not to trust Adam with the map, so she followed him. As they left the village, she stayed at the back of the group. The plan to camp at sunset was a sensible one and she didn't voice an objection to it, opting for silent approval. Others in the group started chatting amongst themselves and the farmer whistled. It often amazed her how easy it was for some people to engage in small talk. Her attention was drawn to Clive when he addressed her.

"That has more to do with all that hero stuff," she told him. "I honestly don't remember dying, but I am worried about being so far away from my family. I hope I can return to them."
It was true worrying about the details of how they got here wouldn't help them much and she appreciated the down-to-earth mentality of the farmer. She knew farmers like that back home, heck even her grandfather would say things like that. The thought of the skeletons returning made her glance over her shoulder, but no creatures were there. The area was strangely peaceful after the village had almost been overrun. Clive had a point though, there was no reason to assume those skeletons had been the only ones. She clutched the spear and focussed on the group again. Adam seemed to discuss the cube he had found with the latest arrival. That was a strange thing, but something she could provide no insight in.

She had a feeling someone, or something, was watching her, but she couldn't pinpoint it. A bird of prey soared high in the sky, other than that nothing seemed to be around, aside from their group and some small animals like birds and bugs. A part of her didn't like this peaceful silence.

"I'm sorry if you consider my silence rude," she said to Clive. "I'm not at ease in this world." She looked around as she said this, instead of facing on the farmer.
Vivian came to the padded room and examined Ray for while before turning to the guards next to the door. "Bring her downstairs," she told them. "For treatment. I will visit her later today."
The last patient she had ordered to go to the basement hadn't lasted very long and it looked like Ray was in the perfect position and physically strong enough to be her next victim. She smiled to herself as she stepped away so the guards could do as they were told.

Meanwhile, Benjamin sat next to the door that would lead to the enclosed garden, resting his head against the wall. He heard his name through the intercom that he was supposed to report to the head office, but he paid no attention to it. He couldn't care less about what they wanted, they didn't care about what he wanted either.
I was unexpectedly busy the past few days, but I'll read up and post a.s.a.p.
"Agreed," Fenna said as Clive suggested preparing for the journey ahead. She watched the sarcophagus as Clive mentioned the person in it would need help, but as others were already rushing to their aid Fenna remained where she was. There was no reason to crowd the new arrival needlessly. "Looks like she has all the help she needs," she commented. "Good job on the skeletons, by the way."

Maybe now was a good moment to check the travel supplies they had been given, and the pouches on her belt. For some reason, this place had given her clothes and items she hadn't owned before. There were definitely useful items for trekking through the unknown land, but she missed the modern-day tools back home. Thinking about home hurt, so she returned her focus to the here and now instead. She had seen a map and compass in Adam's hands and she definitely wanted to have a look at that as well, but he was tending to the new arrival so that would have to wait for a better opportunity.

She looked up when MacKensie asked her if everyone had gotten out safely. "Thankfully, yes," Fenna replied. "The last ones to leave were a mother and her child and the evacuation went smoothly." She smiled at the younger woman as she mentioned she hoped she'd stay as strong as her. "With the bravery you showed when you went to the gate to protect the people here, there is no doubt in my mind you possess a great strength yourself. I'm sure we'll get through this."
