Hello there,

I've been forum RPing for about 13 years; got started on lavendereyes.net, which was a Forgotten Realms/Drizzt Do'Urden fansite, before moving to the old roleplayerguild.com! I've also dabbled in RPing in a few MMO's like Champions Online, SWTOR, and WoW but forum adventures are definitely my preference. I like just about any kind of RP in high-casual and advanced, based on whatever mood I'm feeling (typically high-fantasy, sci-fi, and/or certain fandoms). I love writing and do think of RPing as a way to develop my character and scene writing skills, which basically means I'm always looking for realistic and fluid ways for my characters to learn, grow, and develop over the course of an adventure. I don't ship my characters but do occasionally allow them to fall into a relationship, if they are naturally guided in that direction.

You can take a look at some of my saved characters here, if it interests you.

I also have a deviantart page, though I hardly ever update it.

Thanks for reading! I'm always up for a good chat.

They left the village without fanfare, going so far as to tie a piece of frayed rope around the handles of the gate: a simple knot, one that anything with thumbs and a bit of intelligence could undo, tied only to keep the moor beasts out for a time. Though no one said it, the measure was one for personal comfort rather than actual purpose and it made all the towns-children feel just a little bit better imagining removing the rope again but with family and friends in toe. The entirety of the morning was then lost in a solemn march into the mountains, the only sounds greeting the children were the occasional call of a bird or chirp of an insect and the ever present sucking of the mud around their booted feet. It was slow going and by mid-day they stopped in a sheltered glade beside the road to make a rationed lunch of the food they'd brought along.

As they ate their meal cold seated upon a conveniently placed fallen oak tree, Dakin took the opportunity to once again peruse the maps he'd found in Dorn's hut, benefiting greatly by the light of midday. He could now guess the areas a few of them showed, though he could not read the squiggled writing marking each point of interest nor the scrawled notes around the margin. Still, one map in particular drew the boy's interest more than the others; one that showed a great forest-covered peninsula; for it was clearly of great interest to the previous owner who had scrawled many notes in the margins. His brow furrowed in concentration but, no matter how hard he willed it, he could bring no memory of the map, or the area it depicted, to mind. Finally, with a sigh of defeat he moved over beside Brisa and showed her the page in question, finger pointing to the scrawling script that he assumed was the name of the peninsula. "Brisa..." An astute observer might notice the slightly brighter tint to his cheeks as he admitted to his lack of reading ability. The apprentice druid suddenly noticed how strange it was that he'd so rarely felt embarrassed by this, much more occupied with his mental training or druidic lessons, but how in the presence of one who he knew was well studied in books it was almost something he was ashamed of. "What does this word say? This one here? I can't... I can't figure out what this map is showing."

I'm on the case!
All these weird, dirty Japanese things makes me feel like... I'm outside my house on the weird, dirty Japanese streets.
My stupidly overpriced apartment was supposed to be a SAFE PLACE!

PLZ STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHP!
"C'mon you... stupid... tree!" Kalimay grunted as she dangled futilely, and rather comically, from the handle of BRIK-Breaker while rotating slowly in the air with her shoes nearly two feet off the ground. It was a marvel of determination that she had gotten this far, shimmying up the trunk until she managed to reach the flail's hilt. Unfortunately, her weight alone had not been enough to dislodge the tangled chain from the tree branch high above and the weapon's claws still refused to properly release.

As her mind tried to find a way out of this predicament, her arms already starting to ache, a sudden high-pitched screech filled the air and echoed through the forest around her. "Alistair?" She called out in hope, thinking that maybe the boy was one of those on the more feminine side of displays of fear. It would make sense considering his passionate, romantic heart: much more attuned to its emotions than a normal male.

Alas, it was not Alistair who arrived in a rush of beating wings and angry squawks, like an Eagle-Faunus Knight come to save a damsel in distress; she tucked that idea away for a future smutty romance short story; but a rather disoriented Nevermore carrying a peculiar rider. "Ooooooooooh!" KK's jaw dropped as her eyes became as big as saucer plates while they watched the bird twitch and jerk through the sky overhead, circling her and the large tree. "I wanna ride! I wanna ride!" She chanted in jealously and excitement, brain suddenly coming up with a plan. A deft spin planted her feet agains the tree trunk and with the hand gripping BRIK-Breaker, her thumb jammed a button and the internal motor revved to life.

Before she'd tried to go down, now she was going up!

The chain was drawn in quickly while her feet dances around the trunk as she was pulled around and around and up and up towards the stuck flail head. A quick spin over the offending branch and the chain was untangled, giving her a clear line to the top of the tree. She spotted the Nevermore circling back around as the rider attempted to force its compliance and Kalimay's tongue stuck out of the side of her mouth in concentration. "Game face is a go!" The squirrely girl muttered as she calculated the timing while the hilt in her hand began to change form again. "3... 2... 1... LAUNCH!" The instant her feet reached the metal flail head, and it was wrenched free of its prison, she activated the largest set of dust canisters and the tree top exploded. More accurately, the tip of the flail-rocket head exploded, obliterating several feet of wood and branches and sending her flying into the air as she 'rode' the RPG launcher towards the large bird.

Though she'd slightly miscalculated the trajectory to put her onto the grimm's back, she still managed to sail right into its side. The creature shrieked in fear and annoyance as it banked to the opposite side, giving Kalimay time to find a grip among its thick black feathers. Peeking over the top of the bird as it righted itself, she managed a sparkling smile at Lyndsey. "Is there room on this baby for two?" She giggled, hoping for a hand up.

Location: I'm on a bird over E4!
Seems to me the 'average' aura user might just be able to say, stop the bleeding of a superficial wound: think of it like the emergency medicine capabilities of an emt who can 'reset' a broken bone but then has to let the body do the job from there. Where as a true 'healer' would be more like a surgeon, sealing wounds and actually repairing skin/internal injuries with a significantly more efficient use of aura.

Just my thoughts.
@Asta - Fatal flaw in the CS I wrote up: I forgot to include an 'Appearance' section! :O

@orcpunx - There are two main reasons for the long, content-filled posts, as I see it:
1.) Some of us (okay, me) have had issues posting regularly so when we finally get a chance to actually write we're playing a bit of 'catch up'. Hence, my post where like 5 things are happening and I gotta write out this whole burying bodies scene because my real life body is stupid and had to catch the flu and knock me out for like a week.
2.) We are, in a sense, still in the 'Prologue' of this tale and will be until we really hit the road and start puzzling through this adventure. We are also at an awkward point for new people to join so Asta and I would like to sort-of nudge the story forward so that we can (hopefully) bring in a few more bodies to interact with.
I do agree with you though that in general our characters have been unable to really interact thus far simply because so much is happening in so short a time. This will change, I think, once we're 'on the road'.
Asuras told me 2 days ago he/she/it was writing a post. KK and Lyndsey are partners so I'm waiting on that. O.o
