Hello there,

I've been forum RPing for about 13 years; got started on lavendereyes.net, which was a Forgotten Realms/Drizzt Do'Urden fansite, before moving to the old roleplayerguild.com! I've also dabbled in RPing in a few MMO's like Champions Online, SWTOR, and WoW but forum adventures are definitely my preference. I like just about any kind of RP in high-casual and advanced, based on whatever mood I'm feeling (typically high-fantasy, sci-fi, and/or certain fandoms). I love writing and do think of RPing as a way to develop my character and scene writing skills, which basically means I'm always looking for realistic and fluid ways for my characters to learn, grow, and develop over the course of an adventure. I don't ship my characters but do occasionally allow them to fall into a relationship, if they are naturally guided in that direction.

You can take a look at some of my saved characters here, if it interests you.

I also have a deviantart page, though I hardly ever update it.

Thanks for reading! I'm always up for a good chat.

Sure, rogue/assassiny character is no problem. Just keep in mind that these character will essentially start at lvl 0, developing their skills as the adventure progresses.

As for the races, that certainly depends. We might not be super keen on a crazy uncommon/'monster' race that stands out like a sore thumb (examples being Tieflings or minatours) in a land dominated primarily by racist humans, racist elves, racist dwarves, and everyone in between The starting village will be small and isolated so you'd need a good reason for why your particular character was there to begin with. Now, if you had a good reason or perhaps if the race was uncommon but still had a more 'normal' appearance (example being Moon Elves), we may be inclined to accept!

In summary, if you have a good pitch then go ahead and send us the character (or your idea) via PM or post it here and we'll tell you our thoughts!
Ummm, most likely yes! What did you have in mind?
Trust me when I say moving too fast is more desirable than moving too slow... such as when a certain group of people are fighting on the roof of a certain assembly building and thereby holding up the entire entrance ceremony.

Hypothetically speaking, of course. XD
Perfect, I'm glad I get to see that pansy tree-hugging emasculated elf face every time I go into this thread. XD
RECRUITING! Several spots open!

Hello and welcome to the Interest Check for ‘Rites of Passage’!

My name is Lupus and I will be your co-host for this tale along with my wonderful friend, Astarael42.

Now, Rites of Passage is an adventure conceived by Astarael42 quite some time ago and many episodes of the adventure have been played out on various RP forums around the web to great success. I was a part of one such adventure (the first RP I ever joined, back in '06, actually!) and so when Astarael42 finally decided to join me here on RPG I convinced him that it should be the first RP we GM together.
No knowledge of these previous tales is needed as this will be a new and separate story and though knowing a bit about Wizard of the Coast’s Forgotten Realms is helpful to understanding the world it is not required to join.

This adventure will be high-casual (we like character development and one or two paragraphs per post).

Here’s the set-up:

On the continent of Faerun, in the world of the Forgotten Realms, the Time of Troubles has just ended. The godly pantheons have stabilized, the divine beings are no longer forced to walk the earth as mortals, and their powers are once again being fueled by their worshipers on the mortal plane. Gods, both good and evil, seek to secure a place in the heavenly and abyssal hierarchies and for some the acquisition of devoted followers, through any means necessary, is the only way they will achieve the dominance and influence they crave. For though Faerun is enjoying a much needed time of peace, a sigh of relief after a terrifying time in history, the wars of the heavens and hells are eternal.

The battlefield has simply moved planes.

For you, however, all this is a fairy tale: a legend whispered by a parent, a guardian, a friend, or a stranger simply to make your heart tremble and your eyes light up in wonder. You are just a child of about 10 to 15 winters living in a small, isolated village between the Anauroch Desert and the Lonely Moor and far removed from the excitements of the world. It is a peaceful life, for better or for worse, and you have your own tasks and apprenticeships to attend to and your own mentor to guide you as you grow. It is just when you start to think life will stay as it is forever that Fate decides to deal you a new hand and a terrible event sets you on a journey you never expected: one of struggle and pain that, should you survive, will act as a forge over which your spirit will be tempered.

These are your Rites of Passage.

We hope you’ll join us on this perilous journey of childhood self-discovery and adventure!

Here's a map of Faerun!
What kind of a ship is the Phoenix? From the description it sounded similar to the Star Trek ship, the Enterprise?
How big is it? What kinds of facilities? Weapons? Tech?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm thinking of making the ship's Pilot so the answers will determine a lot of his background and skills. :)
Welcome baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

"Okay, whoa, whoa, let's back up a second here. Time out." He commented, making a "t" with his hands. "There's no love crisis here, there's no love here. I'm not dating-"
"-there's no love here."

"-THERE'S NO LOVE HERE."

Kalimay Kay's mind halted for a brief moment when these words left Alistair's mouth and the rest of what he said may as well have been spoken to a rock or a small animal. In the blink of an eye she'd pulled a small purple notebook from a pouch on her waist as well as a clicking ballpoint pen which she used in a furious moment of scribbling, all while repeatedly mumbling 'There is no love here.' before closing the book with a snap and letting it disappear into her pouch. Finally she turned her shining gaze back to Alistair, looking much like someone who had just met their lifelong idol in person. "No, Alistair... there is no love here in Beacon Academy... Because the only true love is one that has been fought for OVER AND OVER AGAIN! One that has braved death and dismemberment and probably a few crazy skanks trying to get all up in your business and yet has come through it all like steel being tempered!" She was gripping onto his waist now, fully absorbed in her delusion when the announcement of their arrival began blaring over the speakers. "Only once your blood and sweat and tears have been shed for the sake of your love will the universe deem it 'true'! Only when- Oh, we're here!"

They had docked without incident and the instant the doors where opened students began piling out onto the school grounds, heading for the assembly building. "Beacon Academy!" Kalimay Kay squealed, pressing her face to the nearby glass having apparently forgotten her true-love rant. "This calls for celebration!" Before any protests could be made, from her pouch she produced a rather large bottle-rocket firework and a small gas-lighter which produced a large, hissing green flame. "I call this one a 'Rainbow Popper'!" The fuse burned down in a matter of seconds and with a whistle the rocket flared to life and shot from her fingertips. It made a zig-zagging course before striking the ceiling and exploding in a burst of colors colorful sparkles and smoke. Several of these sparkles began to form small fires on the clothes and in the hair of several students unlucky enough to be caught underneath. "Yay, Beacon!" KK cheered, unfazed by the shouts of alarm and, in some cases, screams of fear that were echoing through the back-end of the crowd. "Let's go, best friends!" With a cheerful skip she slipped into the crowd behind Sayuri with BRIK-Breaker bouncing against her back and seemingly without a care in the world.
Family Day! A day where people can see that KK's father is PROBABLY CRAZIER THAN HER!
