@Dark Cloud Tempted to open up the IC. Since characters shall be teleporting in and this is forum game style it shouldn't cause issues
@POOHEAD189 So glad to have you aboard!!

@Dark Cloud So, the world is a very mundane traditional fantasy, to contrast against the whacky hijinks of a bunch of out of touch mages with dodgy magical items. Having everyone start as human was a way of encouraging the world to not initially be horribly suspicious of the players. Also as a brief, fleeting benchmark of normalcy we can reminisce about when things start to go horribly wrong.

That being said I'm happy for you to play a Kobold! and for other players to play traditional fantasy races if it's a core part of what they want to play. I wouldn't recommend orcs, dragonborn and elves. No robots/constructs.

Onto Kobold info:
- People in villages and towns will likely be xenophobic, suspicious or confused by you. Some places may become quite hostile towards you if things go badly.
- No dark vision, but you'll be harder to hit when fighting creatures larger then humans
- Kobolds feel at home in dungeons. You get better at finding and removing traps as you level up.
- You can move quieter then the average human and you have improved senses of hearing and smell.
- You can only wear armour that fits smaller creatures. At level 1 you can only wear robes or leather. Wearing heavier armour then this will exhaust you.
- You're easier to kill then a human or dwarf. Be careful on the front line of combat.
- Your pyromania assists you when throwing grenades or doing anything involving fire.

This should be balanced, we'll see how it plays out :D

Greetings Alumni!

Congratulations on graduating from the Magical Academy.

We would like to remind all graduates that attempting to run away from repaying the astronomically exorbitant student loans is not feasible. We will find you on any plane.

Following the hasty closure of the legitimate Demonic Indentured Servitude Upliftment Initiative, we would like to offer a select few graduates the opportunity to clear all debts through our Artefact Quality Control program.

Despite rumours to the contrary, this scheme is perfectly safe!
Once you have signed this liability waiver in your blood, please review the details of your assignment:

  • You are required to test and document all 300 wands of magic missile assigned to you. Each wand has a happy little quirk which must be discovered and documented. Please note: These wands are considered Academy property. Any damages acquired during the duration of the assignment will be chargeable.
  • Dungeon X-BETA-Y02K63 in the material plane has been reviewed to be an adequate testing ground for aspiring Arcane Masters! While clearing the dungeon is not a requirement and graduates are free to do as they wish, please be informed starvation due to loss of funds is not recognised as an extenuating circumstance and unnecessary deaths will result in penalty charges. Adventuring has always been considered a lucrative time honored tradition that is perfectly safe for any capable spellcaster.
  • In recognition of your [MILDLY ACCEPTABLE] performance in prior years, you have automatically been enrolled in our cloning program!
  • Our welcome package, Carl, awaits your arrival on the material plane with some nifty little life saving supplies.

Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life, aspirant! We are always watching and we will be in touch.

About:
  • This is a lighthearted D&D-lite inspired game set in a generic fantasy setting. It is intended to be closer in style to a forum game rather then a long advanced style RP.
  • There is randomness, eldritch mutation and character death. Try not to spend all your clones at once.
  • Characters start as Level 1 Human wizards with no spells and no prospects. What you do in the big wide world is down to you.
  • In order to level up, loot must be acquired and returned to civilisation. Mechanics will be explained as needed as we progress.

Do not consume.
@Birdboy I absolutely love the idea, but not committing to anything at this time. Sorry for getting wires crossed! Just wanted to show my support
After alot of thinking how to go about progressing I've decided I'm going to close this rp. It was fun guys <3
@Dark Cloud You gather some mud while making casual conversation about the pros of making a cult. The workers seem enthusiastic and think it sounds like a great team building activity. What kind of cult do you describe to them?
[@ClocktowerEchoes] you identify some soothing herbs and create a rudimentary cordial. After resting in the healer's hut, the forager returns to work.
@TGM you hope these acorn-looking things are delicious roasted. You bring them back to the clearing
@Duthguy you craft a very wise looking brick, hoping it will be used to make a wise house for wise gnomes.
@Kassarock you head into the woods. The sun is high in the sky as you ramble onwards, for over an hour. You start to get a feel for the lay of the land beyond the confines of the usual limits of the clan territory. A chill falls like a cloak around you and seems to seep into your bones.
