You can change your username once every 3 months, and your old username will still link to you and won't be recycled. PM me if you want yours done.

>Was there an update to allow Gm's to see hidden posts in their topic? Or is this a glitch?

I meant to just let GMs see the 0th post which can be hidden/unhidden, not all hidden posts in the topic. Not a big deal to me though.

The main issue now is that hidden posts are ugly , so I'd like to tweak the UI to make them a lil less of an eyesore. Like minimize them into a single 10px-high bar with a "Show Deleted Post" button. Been saying I'd do this for a while but UI stuff is always a grind.

>How long until we can change our usernames? Possibly on a max-change thing, like once every 3 months?

I don't have an estimation for when the feature will land, but yeah, it'd be once every 3 or 6 months.

I'm planning for usernames to be taken forever where /users/{oldName} will redirect to /users/{newName}, but I think I can make an exception if the account has 0 posts and PMs like that Odin account.

I'll look at the database right now to see what changes I need to make to allow username updates.

I think this is a good idea. It's just more of a UI concern in that I think it'd be best for it to be minimized on pages after the first page with a "Show 0th post" button.

One of the short-term features I'm working on is to bring back the ability for you to delete your own posts.

I know a lot of people want this, but I had to disable it shortly after introducing it due to an issue that I think might have a simple work-around that I'm playing with today.

There are also some quirks with the autosave feature that can be confusing in some cases as mentioned on the previous page. The least I can do is plead with the user to only open one browser tab for a topic while they are writing a post.

I'd also like to implement autosaving for edits (instead of just new posts) on the horizon.

@Grimhildr It's possible that you're getting a Javascript error which will stop further Javascript execution on the page (which may include the Javascript that paints and controls the editor).

Could you open your browser's Javascript console, then try to replicate the issue and tell me if you see any errors pop up?

That's the best way for me to figure out what might be going on.

But I'll take a look at the code changes I made anyway over the last 2 weeks to the editor. They include the post-revision system and the autosave system, so one of them may have introduced a regression that only shows up for a few people. :(

@Grimhildr Thanks. Weird, I can't reproduce that issue. When did it start happening?

Also, I disabled /search til I fix it since it was bringing the database server to its knees.
@Canadian_Leprechaun Welcome back. :) I actually got back into roleplaying myself recently on a different account after a nine year break.
@avorio Welcome!

Hopefully it's self-explanatory after checking out some existing roleplays. Feel free to ask any questions.

Very slight annoyance with the 0th post system. Personally I really only want a 0th post in the OOC tab for my Co-GMs and don't need one in the IC tab but it seems to have to create one in the IC before anywhere else. Otherwise it's a nice little system.

I'm not sure what you are experiencing. I don't require a 0th post in any tab.

My example roleplay has a 0th post in the OOC and CHAR tabs but *not* the IC tab: roleplayerguild.com/topics/163811-mah…

@Rob Unfortunately I recently had to remove the ability to delete your own posts since the pagination system isn't smart enough to handle the holes left behind.

If you need a post deleted, you can request it in the help subforum.

Hopefully it's something I can figure out soon.

It'll be fixed on next deploy.

@BBeast Thanks.

@NuttsnBolts Yeah, for now. Eventually it makes sense to allow you to create a 0th post when starting a roleplay.

Okay, I deployed the first iteration of the post revision + 0th post system.

I created a test roleplay here: roleplayerguild.com/topics/163811-mah…

It's not very pretty, but it's a start.

It has some issues:

- There's no indication that a tab has a 0th post unless you manually click the tab to check the first page.
- For technical reasons, the 0th post doesn't increment the post-count on the tab.
- It's not obvious what the 0th post is unless you've read my dev journal. It kinda looks like a post that somehow bugged and didn't load the user sidebar. I need to add a lil guide, bring back the FAQ, and make it look a bit better.

Features:

- All GMs/Co-GMs should be able to edit the 0th post, hide it, and unhide it.
- When a 0th post has been edited at least once, you should see a link to the revision history page next to the edit timestamp. In this screenshot, "Revs: 2" is a hyperlink that you can click:

- The revision history UI is very preliminary and crude, but I'd like to enhance it with some nice features like being able to compare two revisions like you can on wikipedia.

Contact me on Discord if you're having issues. I'll be refining it in future iterations.
CHAR 0th post
