Lightningnose knew that Rushpaw could be a little brash. One could even say he had selective hearing, as he proved just now. The pale-furred she-cat’s whiskers twitched in amusement at the young apprentice. However, it was Minnowstone that spoke first. “Silverstar said that we could protect ourselves from the DuskClan cats if we had to, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to be leaping across the border at them when we see them.”
”And the tunnel thing isn’t weird, either.”
Lightningnose perked up in surprise at the sound of another voice. She caught gray and white mottled fur flickering through the pine forest, and gleaming, bright blue eyes. Lightningnose immediately recognized her as Lavenderpaw.
“Hello, Lavenderpaw. How are you fairing? Collecting herbs for Willowcloud?” she chirped.
The smaller cat’s fluffy tail lashed slightly. “You can say that. But what are you four doing so close to the border?”
