Bane pulled out a cigar and lit it with matches in his pocket. “That girl has been burned in the past. People tried to get close to her to use her and steal her ideas…she doesn’t trust anyone to let them get close. She doesn’t know how to talk to normal folks. She tries to understand but she isn’t spooked off by what nature has its hand in. She’s never thought badly of a race because of what nature has them do to survive…”

Aura sighed and told her exactly what happened in as much detail as she could.

Dante stood outside with Ash and he mentally linked to Astra. “I have her with me my lady. She’s mad at herself. I think this is a bad case of bad communication”

Took her a long time to get that even though we look kinda human, we won’t think like them. She relates best to animals. They make sense. They do what is needed to survive. That logic makes sense to her. The rest just makes her question everything. Give her time. She will learn how to understand you. It’s worth it. When he gets there you will never have a more loyal friend. She will stick up for you against anyone. It’s her nature lad…”

Aura said “I was trust trying to get him to see what I saw. I don’t know her any better than he does but she’s not like other humans. That’s easy to see”

Dante glanced down and said “do you wish to talk about it? Was it Chi?” She shook her head and said “no…it was me being a fool…” Dante sighed and pulled her to his side. “Your not a fool…”

Aura frowned and said “chi…not social girl who has been attacked twice in 24 hours. Has been told she needs to let others help her and let people in…and then when she’s trying to understand you don’t really explain. She has no idea what your kind is like. At all. How is she supposed to know?”

Ash found herself outside, holding her arms. She felt like a moron. This was why she didn’t let people in. She didn’t think like they did. Her brain didn’t work like theirs did. She closed her eyes then felt a hand on her shoulder. “Don’t mind me my lady. Just didn’t want you to be alone” ash smiled softly as Dante stood next to her.

No it works. Ash isn’t used to talking to anyone, she’s not an out going person. So this back firing is a norm for her. A way for them both to grow

Aura groaned and slapped her hand to her face. “Chi…listen to how you’re talking to her. Of course she has no idea what you’re saying.” Ash was confused and said “wait what? I just wanted to make sure you were okay. You don’t have to jump all over me for not understanding the most misunderstood race in the world. I’m sorry I’m an idiot when it comes to anything but machines” she turned and left the room and aura sighed.

“Chi…she was trying to be a friend. And you just snapped at her like a pissed off viper would”

Dante had turned his head and his eyes glowed a bit. “I’m fine. But something is off. I’ll find her. You see to Chi” he picked Astra up and onto her feet then vanished into smoke. Bane sighed and said “didn’t I say not to use the magic too much?”
