Current You know, I'm in 4 RPs that are basically still going, yet they're all slowing down in unison. IN UNISON.

@KoL I'm interested to hear what you have in mind for the magic system, but I'll reserve judgement until I actually see the specifics. I'm not entirely familiar with "Vancian Magic", and at a cursory glance, it seems there's more than one system.

Also, is this sergeant character a once scene wonder, or will we be seeing more of him down the road?
Leon Brandeau

The situation had been resolved, with none of their number worse off for it. However, the whole incident had left a bad taste in Leon's mouth. This sergeant was more of a degenerate than Leon had first imagined; he confirmed his threat was of an equally perverse and sadistic nature, and had even taken the time to threaten not just the Aquarian girl but also Esther. Leon could scarcely believe a man of this low character had been allowed to remain in the military for so long, let alone in a position of command. He was already beginning to consider penning a letter to his father regarding the incident; though he was loathe to use his family name like a weapon, his position of authority in the North made him the only person he could rely upon to actually do something about this. He could only hope there wouldn't be some complication and that having this sergeant dismissed would be a simple matter.

Concerns about the sergeant could wait, however, as there was a more immediate situation at hand. The Aquarian girl came to introduce herself, and Leon learned she was named Viola Ferrari. Her soldiers were now receiving the care they needed, but it seemed she also wanted something for the mark that sergeant left on her face. The conversation quickly turned to how vile the man was, and Leon couldn't help but agree. "Indeed, he must be the greatest degenerate I've ever met. To think he would make such threats so lightly..." His gaze traveled to Esther as he spoke. It was at this moment he noticed her state of dress. His gaze immediately shot away from Esther, with Leon clearly embarrassed by what he had just seen. "I'm Leon Brandeau by the way." He quickly introduced himself to Viola, hoping to distract himself from it all.

"Well if it ain't our lords and saviors?" As if Leon couldn't get more embarrassed at this point, the familiar sound of his brother Anton rang out as he came and put his arm around Leon's shoulders, bringing him into a friendly hug. "Anton Brandeau, second son of house Brandeau, this guy's older brother..." He patted Leon on the head. "...at your service. Just wanted to say thanks for putting Sergeant Jackass back there in his place. I'd do it myself, but I have to live with the guy." Though Anton was a noble just like Leon, he had adopted a casual way of speaking from his time at Orello.

Masako Imagawa

While Shadowrender offered an explanation, Masako wasn't entirely convinced. Could there have really been such an overwhelming mass of Negari that nobody but Shadowrender here had to to deal with, or even had noticed? She had to admit she didn't know the ins and outs of Negari perfectly just yet, but considering they were rabid monsters, such a concentrated attack with little evidence other than one disheveled Magical Girl seemed odd to her. Masako's suspicions were further raised by the fact that the little girl, Hummingbird, also expressed doubts as to the truth of her story. Whatever that thing was she held in her hands, it seemed to give her some insight as to what was wrong with Shadowrender.

"If there's something dangerous out there, you're only putting others in danger by keeping it secret." Lutin had chosen this moment to interject. "I certainly hope you're not letting your foolish pride cloud your judgement. Lives depend on the speedy extermination of Negari, and you'll be responsible if something goes unchecked because of you." Lutin was being brutally blunt right now. Masako only offered a sheepish grin in response; she hadn't intended to press the issue so forcefully, and she could only hope Lutin hadn't just offended the girl herself. The irony of it was not lost on Masako, but one look at Lutin told her she seemed convinced she was doing the right thing.

@VitaVitaAR @NightinGem
My character is finished. I hope the liberties I took with her backstory are not an issue.

Mind if I join in?
Masako Imagawa

Masako was quite surprised to discover that the first instinct of the other girl arriving on the scene was not to join her in offering aid to Shadowrender, but instead to smoosh herself into Chantilly's mane. Masako gave out a light chuckle at the spectacle. The horse was momentarily spooked to be grabbed so suddenly, but was otherwise unconcerned by it's newly found accessory. Of more concern was the state of Shadowrender, who, while having clearly healed from any flesh wounds she sustained, was still in less than stellar condition. She seemed determined to act as though there was nothing wrong, perhaps out of some sense of pride or the other. Masako could appreciate the sentiment, however she certainly wasn't about to turn away. The little girl's fairy was quick to speak aloud almost exactly what Masako was thinking.

"I wholeheartedly agree." Masako followed up on the fairy's words. "You may not be on death's door, but something left you in this state, and we're here to offer assistance against it." If worst came to worst and Shadowrender was determined to turn them away, Masako was considering following up on whatever lurked in this territory herself. She wasn't so sure about involving the little girl, however, as while she had no inkling as to her magical potential, she was still such a young wee thing, and apparently easily distracted by horses.

Lutin for one was not involving herself in the proceedings. She didn't entirely care as to whether Shadowrender opened up to them, but she was silently expressing doubts as to whether this was something Masako should be involved in. She was not some storied fighter yet, and whatever the threat was here, she wasn't sure if she could handle it alone. She was going to simply watch until this exchange was over, however.

Danh's jaw was agape the moment his harpoon actually hit its mark. He had been fully expecting him to dodge or demonstrate some wacky power, but instead he let it connect, only making a bare effort to keep it from going straight through. Worse was the fact that it didn't even seem to faze the guy. He just pulled it out and gave a plain evaluation of his technique. As insane as this all was, it seemed to confirm one comforting fact; this guy actually wanted to teach them something, in a vague sense of the word. Of course, there was no telling how seriously he intended to take this session beyond letting Danh get a hit in on him. Was he going to test just how much of a beating Danh could take before passing out, too? Or would he stop short of that?

There was little time for musing, however, as Lorken made it clear he was going to retaliate this time around. He had thrown his harpoon back to him rather than taking the opportunity to break his chain or yank him in for a beatdown, so he didn't seem to be going all out here. Still, Danh wasn't about to take the bastard lightly. Formulating a quick plan, Danh began retracting his right harpoon while bringing his left arm around to the right and shooting out its harpoon. As the left harpoon shot forth, he swung his arm back to the left, bringing the harpoon and it's chain in a big, sweeping arc towards the left. If Lorken planned on coming after him while he realinged his other harpoon, he would be leaping right into the arc of his left harpoon, and if not, he would probably still want to take a step back if he didn't want to keep testing the strength of his attacks. "If I told you to get slapped this time, would you let me hit you with this?" He bleated out quickly as he made his play. It was mostly in jest, but heck, if he let himself get pierced the first time, maybe he was feeling compliant? He could only try.

I have the opposite problem; Danh's clearly deadmeat, but everyone thinks hes alive.
There's a question though; how many people that have yet to post are even truly still in this RP?
