They are the planning type. I think I'm having a block because I hate my parents. Anyway, I'm thinking an amusement park, just because they might think that Devika is 'cured' and able to do crowds. This will give Roxy and Devika a chance to grow closer. Also a chance for Roxy to experience once since I doubt that happened in her childhood.
They would not put her to work.
Devika used to help research for court cases, actually. But they're not going to put her to work. I'm so stuck and I don't know why. >_< also maybe its because I've had to wake up at 5am for work.
Merry Christmas everyone!
I'm still down, just very busy before Christmas.
Kassandra was listening in on the comms, bemused as Dr. Bingley proceeded to basically interrogate half the team about their powers. They all seemed either uncomfortable, like Daphne, or confused like KJ. Zach was the only one taking things in stride. Part of her wanted to address the issue, as she didn’t want the team distracted. On the other hand, she didn’t want to be rude to the man. If he was a guest of Atlantis, that made him a VIP. Maybe it was better not to upset him.

Before she could make a decision either way, she had the distinct sensation of eyes on her. It was an indescribable feeling, one she never could describe. But then, she never had to. Everyone in Atlantis knew this feeling and how to combat it. Humans, however...

What humans no longer understood was the feeling of being prey.

Whales, sharks, squid, seal, dolphin – they would all take a taste of flesh every now and again. (And the dolphins would have fun with you before they did it, too!) Killing them outright was considered gauche, as they shared the ocean with the Atlanteans and deserved to be there. It was best to scare them off by being the bigger predator.

Kassy started turning around, looking for the source of the prey-sense. Before she could lock eyes on it, everything went dark. Ink! That meant…

The sub was rocked next, and she barely saw the tentacle creeping backward for the next strike. Her comms suddenly flooded with questions from the team about what was happening out there.

“Team, we have a situation. There’s a giant squid out here and we need to chase it off without harming it too much. Rain, Cybergirl - protect the doctor! KJ, Brightheart, and Nymph, on me! Zatara, now’s the time to see if that merman charm of yours works! Let’s go!” There was a sharp edge to her voice that likely none of them had heard before. Looking at something that could swallow you whole tended to focus your brain quite nicely.
Sorry about the wait. Just got a new job and I'm a little hectic.

I have no idea what they can do next. It might be because I've been so crazy lately but it's hard to think.
So what's the status of this?

Location: Outside the submarine
Interactions: The Team

Kassy was outside the submarine in her full tailed form, gliding through the water with ease. She was both nervous about the mission, and utterly elated to be underwater again. Nothing compared to the sweet sensation of having the sea all around her. If the others happened to look outside from time to time, they would catch her twirling and spinning in the water, and occasionally snapping at errant fish. It was clear she was having a bit of fun before things got serious.

She had taken the time before they left to make sure everyone knew exactly how their suits worked. It would be deadly to have a mistake in the middle of the deep ocean. She had also charted an underwater course, from where they needed to retrieve Dr. Bingley, and where they needed to drop him off. There was still no word on his research, which meant she’d be asking when they met.

Instead of the specialized suits that the rest of the team had, she was wearing her regular costume. Her staff was prominently tied to her back, and her fishing knife at her side. A small waterproof earpiece kept her linked with the team inside the sub.

“Atlantis is wonderful! You’re going to love it, you all will! To be polite, greet everyone with a hearty “Hail!” It works no matter the time of day. What else – oh, when you meet the king and queen, you must salute like this and bow.” She had done it earlier when King Arthur had appeared on the screen, but she demonstrated again. One fist to the forehead and a deep bow. “Shaking hands is like this-” A tight grip on the forearm. “You will see many of us carrying small knives. They’re for food, so don’t be anxious about that.”

“Hmm... Oh! If you meet an Atlantean that looks a little more like me, with the tail, don’t touch the tail, even by accident. It’s kind of a personal thing.” That was all she could think of for now. “And Zach, you’re definitely asking the wrong person about charming merboys. I could never!”

She relaxed a bit then, sobering. “I really wonder why this is all hush-hush.”
Jinny listened to the instructions with full attention. She didn’t want to have to ask questions, having already realized that Mikron’s patience was thin. “Alright, got it.” While she did not have her own video games at home, she did at least understand the controls easily.

Tucking her braid inside the back of her shirt, she took the controller in hand. “This is going to be awesome.” There was glee in her eyes and in her voice, and she missed the look on Mikron’s face as she hit the forward thrust. The jetpack lifted her into the air, and Jin’s grin widened. “Sweet.” Carefully, she took off, quickly lifting herself higher than her powers currently allowed. The view wasn’t breathtaking, exactly. Maybe if they had been outside. Currently all she could see were students and equipment. They seemed rather unbothered by the display, and aside from some upward glances, Jin was not getting much attention.

Jin spurred the jetpack forward, doing a few lazy circles around the training area, just to get a look at things from above. She never tired of flying. It still amazed her to see things from a higher perspective, to see the world from the eye of a bird. “Let’s see what this baby can do!” Her eyes glittered as she started to fly faster. A few twists of the controls made her do a spinning loop, like a biplane pilot showing off. Jin giggled and continued, making a twisting, turning and twirling.

Her flight pattern dropped suddenly, nearly 3 feet in one go. Jinny felt her breakfast nearly make a reappearance. She tried to level herself out, but found herself listing to one side, sinking at an alarming pace. “Uh… that can’t be good.” She clicked at the controls, trying to get higher again. The jetpack did not respond.

“Fuck.”

Picking up speed, Jin was approaching a drop level that would be painful when she hit the ground. “Come on, come on, you stupid machine!” Jin was trying to mitigate the drop speed by pushing upward with her own power, but the weight on her back wasn’t making it easy. The ground approached at an alarming pace. “No, no, no – please don’t let me screw this up!” She absolutely knew that Mikron would not forgive her smashing his project to pieces on the ground.

As the ground approached, students pointed. They quickly abandoned the area that she was to land in. “Get outta the way!” Jinny warned anyway. She shut her eyes and prayed to whatever god would listen, then pressed the lift controls one last time.

The jetpack jerked once then soared upward, finally. She skirted just a few feet short of hitting the ground, and started accelerating upward. Jin let out a shaking breath as she returned to the place where Mikron waited.

As soon as her feet touched the ground, she released the harness and carefully extracted herself. Then she stormed over to Mikron. “What the fuck was that?! You’ve got some major kinks to work out of that thing!”
