The problem I see is that you have no way of knowing who is readings your posts, who is skimming, and who is skipping over them completely, so you may PM someone who isn't even in your "target audience" (for lack of a better term). Hence why when I asked for feedback on Kai-ro's story, I did it in the OOC so that anyone who may have an opinion could chime in and I wasn't making assumptions about who was reading them. Plus, often times I read something and don't have a strong opinion about it. So I know that, just because I do read a post, doesn't mean that I'm going to have a lot of constructive feedback for it.

I did get a reply by private message, rather than in the OOC post, so there is always that. People could ask for feedback, so that we know who is seeking it, and the replies could be PM'd.

There we go, that certainly seems like a good compromise.
So, a friend who shall remain nameless has told me that some of you see me as "intimidating" and don't feel like you can come to me with any questions, issues, advice, insert thing here. Don't feel like that. I'm a nice guy. Like, seriously.

Let's not turn the OOC thread into a procession of critiques about one another's posts, shall we?

Ultimately we're all here to have fun. If you want someone's opinion about what you can improve upon, ask them via PM. Not everyone is comfortable with having their writing publicly assessed and I'm concerned about the atmosphere it might create for them to have to wade through critiques of other people's writing.
I think it's unreasonable to expect everyone to read every post.

It's completely natural to prioritise the posts that interest you, so I wouldn't beat yourself up about not reading everything all at once or skimming over some posts because everyone does it. One of the nice things about playing in games like this is that you can look back, having read the posts that were initially interesting to you, and take the time to read some of the work that perhaps wasn't instantly relevant to your character or your posts and find some real gems in there.
Here's where I'm at with the Fantastic Four without revealing too much.

We know at this point the fate of this universe's Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben. What we don't know yet is how the NF Fantastic Four's presence in this world is going to change the things and people around them while they search for a way home. I have a lot planned out and my plans are probably slightly more far-reaching than some because NF Fantastic Four aren't Year One so I feel like I can throw a little more at them.

Either way, I want to use their search for a way home to deconstruct the idea of Marvel's First Family somewhat, investigate each of its members individually as characters, and create some waves that will have consequences that will reverberate around the universe a little and turn some traditional relationships on their head.

I tend to write way, way ahead. It's both a blessing and a curse. I get the certainty of knowing the story I want to tell is well underway – and I'm not too reliant on other people – but it does also limit the possibility of interaction. That's the bargain you strike when you decide to write ahead, I guess.
@AndyC I had been meaning to contact you regarding Lex coming to assist Reed and the F4 in trying to get home, actually.

Doom aside, it seemed remiss for them to go to anyone else for help without first consulting Luthor. (Especially considering I had Reed have a begrudging friendship with Lex in New Frontier)
There's potential there for something since they have a tendency to come across extra-dimensional entities that either are or could be described as demonic.

I like the sound of this. Let's revisit this idea once you've got your feet under you a little in the IC thread.

Also, a little unrelated, but as much as I love shit-posting, I find it almost refreshing to talk openly about what we have planned in the OOC thread. It's nice to discuss ideas with people out in the open rather than in PMs or on Discord. I know we all like to have the element of surprise (and I know I certainly fetishize "reveals" a little bit) but it can sometimes be a little isolating to see people posting day after day as if ideas come to them like manna from heaven, when really it's because they thrash everything out behind closed doors.

We should do that out in the open more often, I think. Inbetween the GIFs, memes and dick jokes, obviously.
Byrd and EE know this from our private talks in regards to Hell, but I fully am intending to blend Marvel and DC demonology, etc, and later on delve into how they all co-exist. The three of us have laid out some basics just so there's a rough understanding to avoid contradicting one another in posts, but I plan to do more than that. Gradually, though.

This is sweet, sweet music to my ears.

I know I'm actively looking for C-Listers I can poach and incorporate, as well as making future plans (still waiting for that PM about Grodd and Wakanda). I think, as someone who's still largely an outsider to this group, it can be hard to know who you can approach and talk to about incorporating different ideas and characters from different origins.

I'm not entirely sure that F4 villains quite lend themselves to the Flash as naturally as some other rogues galleries might, but you're always welcome to ask me if you have an idea. That goes for anyone else that wants a piece of F4-shaped action.

Wait, you know what could work very well? How about we incorporate Red Ghost and his Super-Apes into Grodd's backstory somehow? That could be one possible explanation. (I feel like the could is doing a lot of heavy-lifting there)

See? It's not too difficult.
I hope as time passes we embrace the "One Universe"-ness of it more and more, too.

I think it's tempting to kind of hedge your bets and focus on the ultimised aspects of your character but essentially keep their supporting cast and villains the same – or to do the opposite and keep the characters roughly the same and integrate a slightly more mixed cast.

With the F4 I've kind of done the latter but I'm hoping to do both more the further I get into things – and from talking to a few of you away from the OOC thread, some of you have similar plans. Which is exciting.
Perhaps now is a good time to return conversation to the actual game.

I just wanted to say that I think the game has got off to a great start. There's been some great work done so far and I'm very much looking forward to seeing where things go next – and what happens when all our as of yet disparate little worlds collide.

So yeah, go team.
