To absent friends, lost loves, old gods, and the season of mists; and may each and every one of us always give the Devil his due.

Do you like cyberpunk? Do you like stories? Do you like complicated characters, and conspiracies? Take a look! roleplayerguild.com/topics/1..

Bio

Hi! I'm Naril. I write, build things, and I'm incredibly busy, all the time. I'm probably older than you. I'm not interested in isekai, school settings, sandboxes, excessively grimdark settings, or invitation-only threads; I'm very picky about militaria, I don't care for A Song of Ice and Fire, Nation roleplay bores me to tears, most fandom doesn't really catch my attention, and though I prefer Advanced-level writing, I'm not going to help you write your book (Unless you feel like paying my day rate) - which almost certainly means I'm not here. Some day, maybe. Probably not, though!

I am interested in science fiction, cyberpunk, space operas, and stories of working together, uplift, and progress. You'll catch my attention with fantasy adventures in an interesting world, or with almost any modern fantasy. I have a soft spot for superhero stories, and you might find me in the occasional Star Wars or Star Trek fandom.

My standards are high for myself and mild for everyone else; I love writing dialogue and making you feel like you can taste the place I'm creating. I write in the style I like to read, which is the part I find fun. If you want an example of the authors I enjoy, look at Ann Leckie, Tamsyn Muir, N.K. Jemisin, Martha Wells, Terry Pratchett, and Neil Gaiman.

Oh! Yay. :3 I'll do that shortly. I'm fixing some formatting and wording I don't like first!
Oh, don't worry. I press that button all the time. :3

I'm flying back to the GMT-6 time zone tomorrow, so I expect I'll have a post up on...mm...either while I'm at the airport tomorrow, or maybe when I get back home. Not later than Saturday, anyway!

Right now, I'm expecting the next post to be an interstitial Cat-Talking-To-The-Cast post, but I'll incorporate any questions that happen between now and then too, of course.
Removed!
There's no such thing as too much fussing. :3 I should probably fuss more, but that's what the edit button is for!
Hi!

I've had a lovely day out and about, and I'll be back around my computer in about 4 hours. Long train ride! :3

@vietmyke - In your owns time! :3 I just want to make sure people don't forget.

@lady horatio - I'm looking forward to it!
Excellent! :3 So, let's have some posts!
@CutUp - Thanks! I have an idea, but I'm also in the GMT+1 time zone right now, which means I'm going to bed right now. I may have a sheet for you tomorrow!
So...I'm intrigued by this. :3 I have a couple questions, though.

- Are you expecting every character to be some kind of (nearly?)-nonfunctional psychotic? I understand that every character has to fit the "supervillain" mould, which I'm entirely okay with. Still, a character I write would very likely not be the sort of barely-controllable, rubber-room, frothing-at-the-mouth lunatic you seem to have written a lot of this OOC around, and I'm wondering if that's going to be all right with you as a GM.

- I suppose you'll be quite upset with me if I write a character with powers even sort of like Hank Henshaw, who might have other uses for a bunch of remote-controlled nanoscale bombs not only within easy reach, but within immediate access. Still, given that..mmm..."machine affinity" isn't even sort of unusual for supervillains, how do you plan on dealing with that? I'm entirely sanguine with the answer of "we just aren't, okay, jeez, go write something else," as this is your setting. :3

- Who does the "Supervising Agent" work for? I presume one of the Three-Letter Agencies, but I thought I'd ask anyway. :3 Does that agent themselves have final authority over exploding the nanomachines? Do they have to report to someone or obtain permission before blowing one of us up? What consequences fall upon that person if they do decide to "terminate an asset?"

I may have others. :3 But these will do for now!
I'm really hoping this goes forward as a back-and-forth conversation more than anything else. I think we can make it work, as long as I'm not over-estimating my own writing ability. *smirks*
Good afternoon!

Would folks like an interstitial post from Cat? I was expecting another set of questions before I posted, but I don't want anyone to be held up. :3
