"I just think it's a good idea to reassess when things change." Bartholomew said uncomfortably. Given the growing panic, he was worried that them being separate from the group could lead to more problems arising. If things got to chaotic, he could see it being difficult to reunite with their comrades. "I didn't mean to seem that way Gil, just worried about the effect the haze might be having on these people." He hoped that would make sense to The Hat; if it was following them around, they would be serving Cairo best by getting out of dodge as quickly as possible. He was relieved, however, to see that Gil was intent on going back to the group now.

Following after the Emendator, not minding Gil's more upbeat attitude as much as his fellow Paradox did. Morale was, as Gil said, important, and he trusted The Hat to be level headed enough to not let it actually effect his decision making. While he didn't have a problem presenting conflicting ideas to the Emendators at large, he thought it best not to question their actual behavior or goals at large. They knew how to cope with and deal with this stuff much better than any of them, and though it took time for him to cede himself to them, now that he had, he tried to trust them best he could.

Following Kristin, he had a bit of a surprised expression on his face. Cutting or piercing their fellow campers seemed like a bad way to make friendships, but he assumed that people went out of their way to not have to actually hurt people. Not that he expected to best anybody in combat right away, but it did lift a load off his mind to know that if he had the chance, a space cut or scrape on somebody wouldn't be out of line.

"How long have you been doing this?" He did wonder what the average age of campers was here. This sort of life had to be dangerous, which meant that, as uncomfortable as the thought was, kids might not stay here long once they actually got themselves here. In any case, surely a game like this would help improve the odds of survival. However it was, he was determined to stay alive as long as he could, not one to become a statistic. "I just hope Ash and I aren't a burden on the team, you know?"

Arthur thought for a moment. The spear was an interesting proposition. Certainly better for defending oneself in close range, but could be thrown if needed. More so, it let you engage in combat while keeping your enemy too far away to hit you, if you knew what you were doing. It seemed, actually, like a very good proposition. He'd be experimenting with defending himself in such a way. Tonight though, he thought he may try to use his dagger. Pulling it out, he ran his fingers over the blade; the metal cooler than it should be on a summer evening. The only way he'd actually know what he was good at was to try things.

"So... we're allowed to use weapons on the other campers in this game?" Even with access to magical healing food, that seemed... surprising. He'd never do anything lethal of course, but being inexperienced with weapons, he didn't trust himself to hurt people in a safe way. In any case, he looked at the armory, and decided getting his hands on a shield would be a good idea. Even if he didn't know how to use one, having one was better than not, obviously. Selecting one from the assortment, he strapped it to his non-dominant hand, and tried it out, tapping his blade against it, getting a feel for how it worked.

Looking around to see the haze coming back, he frowned, The people were definitely panicking from the onset of the haze. This meant, he assumed, that it was somehow following them. If that was the case, he hoped that if that was the case, that it was dependent upon their continued presence in a location. The haze spreading to all corners of the Earth and time would have to have dire consequences for the timeline. Even if it was directly related to them, that would almost make conduction their missions impossible. If they caused this kind of chaos wherever they went from now on, keeping things discreet would be almost impossible.

"Splitting up may have been a questionable decision." Bartholomew admitted uncomfortably. He didn't want to directly go against the idea The Hat had, since he was infinitely more experienced than Bartholomew, but splitting them up in these troubled time seemed like a very dangerous move. They were split into three groups right now, and if any of them were attacked, it was much more likely that that group could be picked off without the protection of the rest of the group. "Heading back might be a good idea." He found himself agreeing, and nodding his head The Hat's suggestion. He didn't want to seem like a yes man, but he really did think heading back was a good idea.

"Sounds like a wonderful idea to me." Checking out the armory was bound to be cool. He'd never really considered weapons as a very interesting thing before, but now that their were apparently lots of things that very much wanted to eat him, becoming acquainted with different armaments sounded like a practical idea. He had his black iron dagger, but he didn't know how proficient he'd be with a close range weapon. Sure, he was a fit enough person, but he felt as if keeping his opponents at a distance would be a safer option for him.

Following after Kristin, he decided to ask about her preferred fighting style. "So how do you fight? Swords or bows?" The largest disadvantage he could think of that would come with ranged weaponry would be the limited ammunition. He'd hate to find himself in a fight, and unable to protect himself because he'd spent all his bows. That was the primary advantage of close range combat, he supposed; sure, he could run out of things to load in a bow, but a sword would never run out of being a sword.

Knowing that Nancy was at least aware of their currently location was good, letting him scrub that from his list of worries about the current situation. Nodding between Gio and Gil, he agreed that risk minimization was a good idea; choosing the path of least resistance would help keep things from growing needlessly complicated. Just as he had that thought though, it seemed things had grown more complicated; people were suddenly panicking all of a sudden. He figured that, perhaps, the group could infer that a Destruere was certainly here. They were supposed to cause chaos and fear wherever they go, and the ensuing scene certainly seemed to be quite chaotic.

Bart nodded at the Hat as he started off to inspect the Fortress tunnels. Wanting to be useful he said, "I'll follow along with you, see if I can't be of any help." Stepping off after the Hat, he smiled. This would be a chance for him to do something good and impactful. Ever since his training ended with Evelina, and her subsequent disappearance, he'd felt off. To him, it seemed as if he now had a debt to make up, blaming himself for the course of events that led to her being lost to them for the time being. Anything he could do to make up for that would be good, and this seemed like a good place to start.

"Oh so the Roman Gods are real too?" Arthur asked, "I thought they were just bad fanfiction of the Greek gods. Huh." This made him pretty curious about what other gods were real, and what that meant for the Abrahamic religions. He had more pressing things to pay attention to right now though, over the ontological nature of the gods. He cracked a smile at her nonchalant way of addressing the toxic nature of this "Ambrosia and Nectar" but did take note of that fact that apparently they could heal him if things went... poorly for him in the future.

He did note from her talking though, that he certainly had a lot of history to learn. Things must've been happening at this camp for a while, things that, even if were irrelevant to him, would never the less be very interesting to hear about. Modern myths, they sounded to be, and that sounded like one of the coolest things he could learn about. For now though, it sounded like they'd be making a trip to the armory, and though he did already have his knife, he wanted to see what kind of things they had for them to use. "I'd like to see that, yes." He responded to her, nodding.

Bartholomew listened to the orders that Gio decided to give him. He was a bit surprised that Gil hadn't taken charge on giving such orders, but he was of course going to listen to either of them. This did however, set the tone of the overall mission; reconnaissance through and through. To him, this was the sort of mission he was best suited for. Neither of his powers were particularly suited for direct combat, and even if he was skilled enough at this point to defend himself, that didn't make him feel safe around the things they were supposed to fight. However, just looking around and blending in was much more his speed. In fact, as he considered this, an idea came to him for how he might be able to blend in.

"I stick out pretty badly as well." Bartholomew started to say, as he took a chance to pitch an idea, "I could grab a body that fits in better, might make getting around a bit easier." He knew there were inherent risks in using powers, especially like his ability to possess, so the risk analysis was something he wanted on the table. This wasn't the time or place for him to make a snap decision like that without discussion, assuming they had time to entertain the idea. He figured this was a "no stupid ideas" kind of situation, so he'd throw out whatever ideas he come up with.

"Thing's aren't bad." Arthur said quietly, looking over to Krisin and smiling at her as Ash walked away. "I mean, I'm still reeling from everything going on, but I think I'm going to be alright." He straightened himself, and stood up, looking at her. "I'm afraid I need to join my half-sister though, if you'd like to join me. I don't think I caught your name though?" As he said that, he started to stand up, and walk towards the Zeus table.

Following after Ash, he gave a curious look at the apparent daughter of Zeus. As he looked at her hair, an errant thought ran through his head that perhaps being the daughter of Zeus helped her hair stand up. This was, of course, not something he'd ver say out loud, so he kept his mouth shut as Ash introduced herself. Afterwards, he cleared his throat and said, "And I'm Arthur, it's a pleasure as well." He looked back towards Kristin, hoping she'd be following after him. "I certainly want to get a look at that armory, see what we can get." He smiled, nudging Ash gently.

As Bart walked into the scorching heat of Cairo, he was briefly reminded of his inaugural mission, in which he was also accompanied by the Watch. Even though that was only a year and a half ago, it felt like a life time to him; as if he was a different person than when he had first came to this city of sand. For the love of God, he hadn't even been able to heal at the start of that mission, though that was among the most superficial of differences. It seemed this new visit would be the staging ground for what could possibly be another major paradigm shift in his life. If Giosue was correct, then they had one of the most useful weapons they could possibly ask for in this war with the Destruere; their removal from the shadows, and into the cold light of day.

Bart felt like he did actually have several important clarifying questions to ask, given the potential danger of the situation. "If we see it, are we to engage? If not, and it starts attacking, do we flee or strike back?" He asked, looking over to Gio, but even more so at their resident combat master. These felt like good things to have firm answers on, to make sure they wouldn't need to come to a joint decision in the heat of danger. The last thing they needed right now was any kind of disarray to pile on top of the already existent clusterfuck they'd found themselves in. His eyes floated back over to Sophia, and he figured her ability might be of particular use. "Maybe we should have Sophia see if she can sense anything that might be a Destruere?"
