Arthur Stanford

Location:Arena -> Hades' Cabin

Arthur didn't exactly have a response to Rebecca's question about anything she should bring. Crystals, he had thought, sounded pretty, but he didn't think they were much good for anything. He just faltered, and deferred to the others to ascertain what they needed for this coming journey. As they neared Hades' cabin, he felt himself growing smaller. This was gonna be rough, and he didn't quite have the emotional energy to deal with him. As they entered the cabin, he stuck close to Andy, needing her more than anything right now.

Looking upon the room, his heart sank into his chest. There was something poetic about the scene, all the things that made Ash who she was were still here, but she was not. The thought, that your stuff doesn't leave with you when you do, resonated with something in him. All that was left of her now, was an echo, that was already preparing to dissipate at they figured out which of her things should be buried with her. As he saw Kiera with his sister's parasol, he twitched for a moment, wanting to snatch it out of her hands, but he held himself back. "That.. That should go with her, she'd like that, I think." He choked out, just holding back tears.

Mab nodded at Rose, thinking it'd be best if they all took the same vehicle. Not only was it better for the envirornment, but it might give them a chance to process this together, and come up with exactly how they were going to deal with this situation. In any case, they wanted to continue to see how Willow would process this new information about herself.

"I'd like to go together, if possible." They said, looking at the others, hoping they'd agree. "If we leave our cars here and something happens to us, people are more likely to notice when they aren't picked up again." It was strictly the safer option for them to go together, so they hoped that would convince the others that sticking together was ideal.

Taking a few moments to breath as shots soared above her head, Elizabeth closed her eyes. This was a lot to handle, undoubtedly, the fear of assimilation and death, fighting alongside Thor, but it was still exhilarating beyond words. Drumming her other hand on her new gun for an arm, she looked at it playfully. A part of her wondered how she'd get her arm back to normal, but a much louder part of her was freaking stoked about the her new armament. Cracking her neck, she gazed at the newly discovered exit, and nodded.

Making a dead sprint for it, and giving a smirk at the Phalanx gunning at her, she gracefully made it to safety. Inhaling, she assessed the field in front of her, and tried to figure out how she could continue to help. Quickly, and idea crossed her mind, and decided that, "when in doubt, blow shit up" was a perfectly acceptable strategy. Leveling her arm gun with her former hiding spot, she let a blast out at it, causing the console to erupt into flames, hopefully creating something that might distract the monsters enough to let her team get over to them without fear.

Oliver cringed for a moment as the knife was plunged into the creature's chest. Such brutality was not his typical way of dealing with things, so he looked away from the violence. He quite simply didn't have the stomach for the stuff. He cleared his throat and said, "We're going to want to collect tissue samples from that Skrull, and every member of this team." He said, forcing his gaze on the corpse. "Not to start any concern, but if these things can copy people, and had infiltrated our team, we need to know that none of us are compromised." He closed his eyes for a moment and looked up, "Iron Man said that some Skrull could sometimes be identified by DNA, failing that, maybe somebody can come up with some other way to identify them."

With that, Oliver looked over to Maria, "Not much, just a report of a previous encounter with Skrull." He said, running his hand through his hair as he said that, taking a deep breath, "I'll send you a copy when I get a chance. I wouldn't go looking for it yourself though unless you particularly want to get into a screaming match with Iron Man." He explained, "And if you do want that, I'd still rather you didn't, as it'll fall back on me, and ending up in the Raft isn't exactly the direction I want my career to go in." He gave a somewhat pleading look to Maria, only half joking with his last comment.

Mab watched on with curiosity as Willow got up to call her mother. That was a hard conversation to have to have with her mom for sure, and something that almost no person would ever need to have. They wondered a bit, how Willow would handle the news, if they'd break from it or not. This would be a rare thing to see, and wildly interesting at that. "If she really was adopted... That would be something." they quietly mused to themselves, as they waited for Willow to return.

Once the Manager had told them that the shop would be closing early, Mab nodded. Things had a way of working out, it seemed, and they were happy that they'd be able to to go to the park sooner rather than later. "Sounds like we should be good to go then. Ready Rose?" they asked, as Willow returned. They nodded after her, not saying anything. They clearly needed time to process this news, and while they'd rather not have a liability with them when going to deal with this situation, but on the other hand, human behavior was always something that interested her, so this was a bit of a treat.

Elizabeth eagerly took the arm from Tony, hyped up to replace the useless hunk of plastic off her arm, and replace it with something much cooler. "Sick!" She grinned, her smile only widening at the promise of surprises. She was gonna be playing with this for hours to find all it could do.

In the time before they made it to the ship, she had been exploring the new piece of hardware on her arm. The coolest discovery she made, once she got it on, was that she was able to use the arm as a computer, with a tiny holographic display popping out from it after a few minutes of toting around with it. Using it, she'd be able to access the mansions databases, something that could prove useful later on.

Aboard the ship, she was excited, and terrified to be in space, on a mission. Kids literally dreamed of this, and now she was about to find out if it all lived up to the hype. Taking a careful few steps through the room along with the others, she jumped back when the Phalanx showed up. Ready to get in a fight, she approached one of them, and stuck her hand out, about to turn it to copper, "Let's see how you fight when you're a hunk of-" She started, before realized it wasn't working. However, her arm suddenly shifted into the blaster, curving off into a barrel, and pulsing with a purple energy. "Well." She started, mildly surprised, "When life gives you lemons..." With that, she fired off a blast into the gunner in front of her, leaving a nice dent in it. From there, she dodged behind a console, taking cover to start laying down fire against these things.

Oliver looked over the thing that had just tried to kill him. "I'm gonna see if we have anybody on whatever this alien is." And with that, he snapped a photo of Roman, and ran a reverse image search of him against what was in the S.H.I.E.L.D database. Scanning for a minute, he squinted at what he found, before widening his eyes for a minute. Connections in his brain were firing off, and he started to get an idea that shook him to his core. This thought he had was, unsettling, to say the least, and he immediately had to take precautions, even if there was the smallest chance he was right.

He started to clear any records he made in finding this information, and noticed he had tripped some kind of flag on his way in. Gritting his teeth for a minute, he sighed, that was a red flag for sure. Making a copy of the information in front of him, he ran the quick check against it, and found even more alarming things. Quickly taking action to disarm them, he huffed at seeing it had already fired off. That was concerning, but ultimately fine, he thought, as people probably wouldn't think anything of it. Quickly, he was proven very wrong.

Oliver's phone would ring once again, and this time when he answered Tony's voice was a lot louder to the point anyone near Oliver would be able to hear him, "Why the hell are you still looking at things you aren't supposed to? Didn't you learn ANYTHING from our last conversation?"

Oliver's hand trembled as the phone began to ring, steadying his breath for a moment, and answering it, only to jolt his head away from the phone. "In my defense." He started, speaking for more quickly than he normally would, "This was in a S.H.I.E.L.D database, and I had some good reason. There's a skrull in front of us, and I needed to know what we were facing."

"...That's more then a bit concerning. The Skrulls are almost completely indistinguishable from the people they have shifted into. It's almost impossible to tell the difference, some of them could even replace people higher up around the world and you wouldn't know. I kind of threatened them during our last encounter to stay the hell away from Earth."

Oliver nodded along to Tony and said, "Almost? Is there a way to tell?" He couldn't find any trace of that in the file, and that was something that he'd very much want to know. "If an agent was already replaced by a Skrull, a way to confirm that more of them aren't would be indispensable."

"You could do a DNA test to look, but some Skrulls can even replicate that."

Oliver nodded, and closed his eyes, "Got it. Thanks. Anything else, or um... can I hang up?" He asked, unsure. "I really would rather not end up in The Raft for this." He tacked on.

Oliver would be able to hear a voice in the background, "Daaaaad c'mon it's time for more shots!!"

Tony thought for a moment before responding to Oliver, "Nothing else, but final warning got it?"

"Got it. Have a nice night, um, sir."

"Now get lost and stay out of trouble!" With those parting words, Tony hung up.

Breathing a sigh of relief, he looked around at the people in front of him. "He's a Skrull, some kind of alien that can shapeshift, obviously, and that's about all we know." He said, slipping his phone back into his pocket.
Arthur Stanford

Location:Arena

Arthur was surprised for a moment by Leda, who was taking now to try to help him control his powers. He nodded weakly as Rebecca introduced herself, and meekly took the moment to shake her hand. "I'm glad you'll be able to help me." He said, looking for something similar to an appropriate response. On literally any other day, he'd be visibly eager about the opportunity, but today was a day like no other. "I'm Arthur, yes. I'm... not sure at all how to use these powers properly, so any help I can get would be appreciated." He agreed.

He didn't know much about who Hecate was, that was a goddess he didn't think he'd ever heard of. "Erm, sorry, is your mother a death deity as well?" He asked. He didn't like being ignorant, so he went straight to asking. As far as the funeral went, he weakly nodded at Leda. "Let's get on it then." Honestly, he wanted this to be over more than anything. He knew it would hurt a lot to put on the funeral, but he hoped that once they were past it, things would get better.

Okay, that was officially creepy. Four people, all in the same general area, getting the exact god damn letter, all telling them to go to the same place. This sounded unreal, and they had no idea what was actually going on. Mab shrugged. "I mean, I was either an orphan, I grew up in a really specific prison." They said sarcastically. All of them were orphans then, which wasn't a surprise, since all the letters were identical. If this was their parents way of telling them that they were a massive slut when they were Mab's age, that would honestly make more sense than most other options.

The news that Rose's shift wouldn't last too much longer though, was an objectively positive one. That was a good compromise, they considered, and it meant that they'd have a little bit of time to plan exactly how they were going to deal with this. That, and they could use a little time between getting up and confronting anything to do with their parents. That was just a lot to deal with this early in the morning, and doing this later in the afternoon would end up making them feel a little better.
