Bio

You JUST scrolled down!

Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another Amalgam Universe themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!

My top RP's on the Guild:

Young Justice 2020
Justice League Unlimited
Titans of Gotham
Champions of Engine City
Marvel Reborn
Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]

Top Characters:

Ditto - Young Justice series
Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited
Leviathan - Titans of Gotham
Fastlane - Champions of Engine City
the Thing II - Marvel Reborn
Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return

I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!

Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.

Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.

OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, Haunt, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.

Batman Beyond was cancelled so the producers could focus on the Justice League cartoons of the time. A live action movie and show have been in development but always gets put on the backburner. CW could never do a Batman centric show because Fox owns tv rights to Batman.

Terry had to be dumber in the beginning to make Bruce relevant. In later episodes Terry trained in martial arts with one of Bruce's teachers, and if you'll remember the JL wanted Batman on their team because of his outsider looking in approach. Later on in Epilogue they wanted him for his detective skills.

In the comics... in Batman Beyond 2.0 that was still mostly based on the cartoon and the comic series spun out of it... Terry was in college and relying on Bruce a lot less. He was also a more integral part of the JL in JL Beyond 2.0.

Am I not going to get any info for Damocles?

Yeah were you already on another badguy?

@Prince of Seraphs

First of, let me go ahead and post what I use for reference for Gotham. It's from the comics about two decades back but for me it's easier to read than say... a map from an Arkham game.

If you open it in a separate window the text will be larger.

First I want to point out this RP was going to borrow bits from all of the distinct Batman Beyond universe interpretations [there are three]. Batman Beyond [the cartoon] tied directly into it's first comics series. Batman Beyond 2.0 continued developing Batman and took most of the history from the cartoon and first comic series but did alter a couple minor details. Then there's the current shitfest that is the wannabe Terminator future that was connected to the equally unsatisfying [for me anyway] Futures End series.

You notice the number 5 on the shirts of the officers in Batman Beyond? IDK what their reasoning for it was, but for me... it had to do with five larger boroughs or areas. So the 5th precinct is Gordon's group and located in the larger area around #16 on the map, simply called Gotham City [including areas 8, 9, 10, and 21, as well as the aforementioned 16]. The rest of that borough can be precinct 4. As far as the cops and what they're capable of.... its basically like going from big city to megacity overnight. A lot of their staff is under trained, some is still corrupt [possibly detectives and higher ups in other precincts?], and Gordon's is one of the only precincts that makes a difference. At this point in the game though, the common thug can get access to equal to or greater tech than what the GCPD5 has in their arsenal.

The city.... again it's just looking at it from a real world perspective. Say current Gotham is based on NYC. And now Neo Gotham is even bigger. The poorer areas are further out from the main area of the city, the rich live more in the center as well as the bigger corporate buildings. Industrial Park will be much larger as well as the dock areas. The people in the tops of those gigantic futuristic buildings? There's rich... and then there's WEALTHY. That's where those types are at.

The suit and Terry I'll get to later. Cooking dinner ATM...

With it being the Guild's tenth anniversary I'm feeling nostalgic. The very first RP I ever took part in I remade Bulletman for a Justice Society RP back in '03 my senior year of high school. I've got a few different versions of him saved on the computer still... so I might change up from Manhunter to Bulletman.

It's a great idea, I just don't think the JL would let her die all the time. Worst case scenario sure, to take down Kite Man and his gang? Not so much death required... the League in my mind would try to let their clone live a little. Kinda like what they did with Longshadow...

-00492
@RumikoOhara That'd be perfect for Suicide Squad, but IDK that the League would be down with letting somebody die over and over again. They're still flesh and bone? A robot or techno-organism might not be so bad, like the Cylons in the recent Battlestar Galactica remake [if you're not familiar, when a Cylon dies its consciousness is sent into another fresh Cylon at their Mother Ships]. The League just lost two of it's founders in battle, so I don't think they'd go into this with somebody they'd basically continue killing.

Robotman however was one of the original JL in this that was killed. IF you would be okay with making your clone a robot, she could somehow be tied to this universe's Robotman. Kinda like how Red Tornado always gets ripped apart in big battles then gets brought back online and given a new body...

I'mma read that when I get the chance, but that sounds pretty close to what I was aiming for- Some guy with immense potential... if he wasn't a chainsmoking, borderline-alcoholic who wanted nothing to do with superheroics and never trained a day in his entire goddamn life until it was abruptly (and literally) beaten into his face.

I'll put a sheet up when I'm off work.

I think Major Bummer got involved whenever he saw a chick in a spandex uniform for the first time. Which is really all it'd take for any man to spring into action.

Ya know, one of these days I'm going to post my interest in one of your RP's and actually get around to putting up a CS XD.

Anyway, for character ideas, I've got at least two-

One- some Average Joe who just so happens to have physical abilities that approach Kryptonian standards... but he's spent his whole life actively avoiding anything to do with spandex, capes and people with death rays trying to murder him until it's abruptly forced upon him via being on the receiving end of a brutal beat down by Bizarro while desperately trying to buy time for someone from the league (who, as a rule, tend to actually know what the hell they're doing) to show up and save his town.

He has no eye lasers.
No freezing breath.
No ability to fly.
He can't breathe in space.
And he's in way over his head.

Two- An old idea I've had floating around in my head for a while now; washed-up teenage super-team reject who grew up to be a semi-homeless hero-for-hire/freelance cop, traversing north and south America in an old Ford Bronco taking down villains and fighting crime with nothing but his wits, an arsenal of MacGuyvered weaponry and one hell of a chip on his shoulder.

More folk-hero than caped crusader, he's somewhat skeptical about the kind of people who wear tights and capes and make bombastic speeches about justice and virtue (for reasons that have nothing at all to do with being very publicly cast out of his former team in favour to be replaced by someone more marketable), but does acknowledge the usefulness of the league as a whole... this does not, however, mean he's ever going to stop being a sarcastic prick.

The first one sounds more like somebody ready for the JL. Kinda puts me in the mind of the character Major Bummer...

Dude has immeasurable strength and had no desire to be a superhero. There are lame heroes in his universe who want him to join their team of wannabes, aliens after him to unlock the source of his power, etc. Was a damn good series. I'd love it if this guy existed in the mainstream DCU...

These pics will likely show up as gigantic until the site resizes them. However this is an idea of what I'm hoping to see. A few canons reimagined, a few originals, a few cannons barely altered....
