Yeah, my reservations about Gangraena were confirmed. She looks too much of a monster not to be reported to the authorities.

At best, she might get taken in by the scholars in Zauberheim and separated from Leomund, removing her from the RP proper. At worst, well... we can leave that to the imagination.

Dark magic is generally the antithesis of Light magic. Where the direct Light magic has you hurling orbs of Light at your enemies, the indirect Dark has you placing orbs of Darkness for your enemies to step on or leaving them inactive for a few moments before exploding.

Although, I'd also say just go with whatever you think dark magic spells are and we'll go from there.

I still need time to think about Gangraena since on one hand, her justification of being undead is solid but on the other hand, I'm not sure if that is enough to actually justify her existence. Though I do admire the lengths you're willing to go just to get an undead character up here. Again, I need to think about it more so long as you have nothing more to add.

Oh and her abilities seem OP to me since she appears to be invulnerable to damage from what I've read. Also, dark magic is under the domain of Aylama so there's that too.

Leomund's good though.

I'm intersted in making some kind of beastkin although I'm curious if there's any form of demonic pacts and stuff in this setting you haven't discussed because I kind of want to make some kind of beastkin warlock style character. If not I may just go for a beastkin who uses illusions and curses.

Besides the mentioned gods, there aren't any sort of angelic or demonic beings in this setting.

Edit: Also do beastkin live like the other races or in the more traditional tribes and stuff that are more common in fantasy settings?

Both actually. Some Beastkin live in tribes while some have cities with buildings and stuff.

Take a look at the Twin Goddesess' section. The magics mentioned there are more likely to be accepted.

Also, I've noticed that your character leans towards fire which is an acceptable magical art without needing to resort to harnessing the spirits of the deceased.

As far as your mention regarding death and spirits the method of reanimation is barred only to extremely powerful beings such as gods correct? Is there a concrete understanding to which entities exist in this realm that fit something close to that description or is that flexible? I'm happy to discuss possible alterations to the background I'm designing for her if you have changes that would help make her better suit your setting. I'll have something more concrete to present when I finish her background. I'm just doing my student's background first before I get to her CS.

No, not really. There is no evidence that the Twin Goddesses have actually exercised necromancy. It is only believed that they could do it since it's super, super hard to cast it.

Also, while there's extensive speculation and pop culture about undead, zombies and skeletons, no such being are ever encountered in the world.

A very nice character but one I must ultimately and unfortunately reject.

Communing with spirits, much less harnessing them for power, is basically impossible in this setting. Once someone is dead, that one's dead period. No lingering regrets, no ghosts, just straight to the afterlife and no going back.
