Hogwarts: Before the War

Sorry for the delay! Had a busy few days getting an assignment finished. Just a couple of things before Konstantin can be accepted:

- We'll need a flexibility for his wand.
- I've decided not to have Muggle Studies as an elective during this time at Hogwarts - while there's nothing in canon stating when the classes began, I have a feeling it's a more modern subject, so I've left it out.
-"He comes from three entirely distinct worlds, Muggle Soviet Russia - his homeland, Muggle England - his home, and the wizarding world - the new world. This entailed learning three distinct cultures, three distinct languages..." The wizarding world doesn't have it's own language, unless you're talking specifically of the magical-themed vernacular he'd learn once joining the wizarding world. Still, I wouldn't class it as him being "trilingual".
- His first and second picture are of different people, but they also look way too old for a 14 year old. They'll need changing.

Wait, why do we need to roll for our character doubting the illusion, when Pietro has already warned them about Wonderland and her illusions? Would it not be just common sense for someone to consider that the bars aren't necessarily real?

Several things began to worry Nina as she swiftly followed in Damon's footsteps. One, hearing the commotion coming from the corridor ahead. Two, Damon's concern of Ayita going on a tiger-themed rampage. Three, the strange voice appearing over the intercom. She could only imagine that this was 'Wonderland', the second unknown mutant that Pietro had only just recalled. Her warning went ignored - all mutants and humans not currently with Nina would be classed as a threat, and dealt with accordingly. No matter how charming they seemed... and this one was certainly trying hard to be charming.

Looking at the man - Richard Laine, as he called himself - with a scrutinising gaze, Nina's eyes flicked only momentarily to Ayita before landing back on their foe. She seemed stable enough, but Nina wasn't really looking forward to wrestling a tiger any time soon. As the shifter stepped back, Nina stepped forward slowly, hoping the younger girl would take the hint and move closer to Damon. He seemed to be a calming influence on her anyway. It would have been preferable to flank Richard, but the corridor was too narrow... either way, they were never going to lose him with a speedster on hand. If Ayita could keep her cool, the group could quite possibly maintain the upper hand.

"I don't think you're in any place to start requesting favours from us, Mr. Laine." Nina began, still stepping forward calmly, yet slowly - not in an aggressive manner, but more diplomatic. "We're not likely to trust any information you give us, so you really have nothing to offer other than your surrender. I'm sure S.H.I.E.L.D. will be kind with you, if you cooperate." As of yet, she had no idea what this man's powers were. Clearly he put plenty of stock in charisma, but Nina had been around enough people in her life - Tony Stark included - to know that charisma didn't count for anything that really mattered. "Pietro, contact Agent Stark and ask her to double check his identity. And if you could recall anything of his mutant nature, that would be wonderful." A touch of sarcasm coloured her voice, but so did positivity - her eyes still watching Richard's every move closely, Nina was feeling somewhat cocky that they had managed to almost apprehend an enemy so far, and with no injuries. Pessimism still lingered in the back of her mind, whispering worst-case scenarios in her ear, but Mr. Laine seemed to be cooperating... so far. Hopefully this Wonderland girl didn't decide to join their party.

"Yeah... maybe." Charlie mumbled in response to Cassandra. Her offer was a generous one, considering how busy she probably was as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent... but in truth, Charlie still felt apprehensive about using his powers. Part of him hoped that if he didn't use them at all, they'd just go away. A childish thought, but it was one he was still secretly clinging too. Whether today's events would change this mindset or not, he didn't know. But things were starting to kick off, and he jumped lightly as he heard a rather amused female's voice come over the intercom.

Deciding that still following Cassandra would be the best thing to do, Charlie kept looking over his shoulder every few seconds or so, wondering if one of the two mutants mentioned would start running up to them, ready for blood.

"So, um... what happened at the Power Plant that that chick mentioned?" He asked Cassandra quietly, glancing over her shoulder as she checked yet another empty room.

I promise to get my own characters done as soon as possible so I can be discussing relationships too! If they're going to take a while, I may put up some WIPs for you guys to look at and get a good gauge for what they're like, and if they'd be in any relationship with your own characters.

Hello all! Things have been a bit slow recently due to Christmas (I haven't even had time to finish my characters), but this is to let you all know that I'll be aiming to have the first IC post up on January 4th. I have a couple of exams the week after that so I may disappear briefly, but not for very long. For those who have yet to finish or post a CS, don't worry too much - while I may still be allowing character applications after the IC starts, it's just preferable to have everyone finished by then. Hope I didn't miss anyone off.

Also, for those who have been accepted, start thinking about character relations! I've not made a proper character relationship sheet, just a key that you'll find below. It's just something you can tag on the end of your CS. Your character's will have known one another for either 4 or 5 years, via houses, classes, extracurricular activities, or simply knowing them from word of mouth and seeing them in corridors. Feel free to discuss in here, or via PM. :)

Character Relationship Key

Dating - Your Boyfriend/Girlfriend. This relation must be reciprocated.
Crush - Who your character likes romantically. This can be unrequited, and also used alongside another relation. (E.G. Two strangers may have crushes on one another, but may not know.)
Best Friend - This relation can be unrequited. (One person may consider another to be their Best Friend, but it doesn't always work both ways.)
Friend - This relation must be reciprocated.
Acquaintance - This relation must be reciprocated.
Stranger - This relation must be reciprocated.
Rival - Disliking someone, but not to the extent of making them your enemy or hating them. This can be unrequited.
Enemy - This can be unrequited.

Not sure if you'd be able to do this or not, but just incase I don't get to post before the update, I'm planning on having Nina join Damon in the attack against Adder, standing nearby Ayita and in a defensive stance (She'll also be vigilant for any new attackers that may join them). Just wanted to let you know what her next actions would be in case you were doing any rolls. :)

Great changes! As for your concerns about the riddikulus charm, it's more than fine. If Thomas finds it funny, then it'll work! He's accepted, and can be put in the character tab. :)

Good changes, but there are still a handful of issues:
- For one, we'll need more description in her appearance. While it lists all of her features just fine, we need a bit more. Good examples are things like "sticks tongue out while concentrating", or "her nose crinkles up when she smiles", or "has a tendency to snort when laughing"- anything to make her feel a bit more realistic.
- While you've mentioned the grudge against the Charms teacher, why just him? It's strange for a child to harbour only one grudge against one person if they're being irrational about it. It doesn't really fit in with the rest of her personality unless you mentioned it as a common and somewhat visible flaw of hers, not a one-off occurrence.
- Her personality finishes on an unfinished sentence?
- While you've clarified that she's the youngest now, her backstory is very sparse. All you've mentioned are her sibling's names and how many she has, and also what societal class she is. Where's the detail? She's the youngest of 8, and you've not mentioned anything about her relationships with them, what they got up to while they were at Hogwarts, what they do now, or really anything about their - or her - life before Hogwarts. Why was life hard for her being the youngest in the family? Was she bullied, or teased by the older ones? Is there a large age gap so she never had a friend of her own/near age? Was the family particularly poor so they couldn't afford anything? The only mention of her parents is that they don't have time for her anymore because "they're taking care of her siblings". If she's the youngest of 8, then her siblings will either be in Hogwarts with her, or will have graduated and be adults. Why would they need looking after?

Still a bit of fixing up to do, I'm afraid.
